Chapter 2643: Chapter 2643: Ten Thousand Taels per Pill (Part 3)
After exchanging pleasantries, the conversation returned to casual topics.
Cui Meng, the Imperial Concubine, was always intentionally kind to Yang Ruxin. Seeing the Crown Princess Consort talking happily with her, she proactively joined the conversation, showing a great interest in the triplets and twins, constantly praising how cute the children were.
"Imperial Concubine, my body was nurtured by Xinxin, and it resulted in twins." Shen Junru, the Crown Princess Consort, laughed softly. "Would you like Xinxin to take care of you as well? After all, you’re still young, maybe you could bear a child or two for the Emperor."
Cui Meng’s face turned red instantly: "You sneaky little thing, is that something you just say casually? Do you know how old I am?"
Yang Ruxin’s eyes flashed briefly. Are the Crown Princess Consort and this Imperial Concubine that close? Able to discuss such private matters? Despite the subtle astonishment, nothing showed on her face. After all, who doesn’t wear a few masks?
"I’m serious." Shen Junru looked at Yang Ruxin. "Xinxin, do you think it’s possible?"
"Crown Princess Consort," Yang Ruxin’s brow furrowed almost imperceptibly, then she displayed a troubled expression. "How am I supposed to answer that? I’m just a doctor, not a fairy. The same illness reacts differently in different people, so it’s not something that can be generalized."
Shen Junru glanced at Yang Ruxin and sensed her displeasure. Her face showed a hint of embarrassment, then she smiled: "I also think Xinxin’s medical skills are incredibly advanced. The Imperial Concubine is quite lonely without offspring."
Yang Ruxin remained noncommittal. She had no particular fondness for the Crown Princess Consort, but also no malice. Given her position, it was impossible not to have schemes and calculations, but as long as it didn’t involve her bottom line, she could ignore the rest.
"Speaking of Xinxin’s medical skills, I do have a small favor to ask." The Imperial Concubine looked at Yang Ruxin. "Could I request a medicine pill? You can set the price based on your usual rules."
"What kind of medicine pill?" Yang Ruxin slightly raised her eyebrow.
"One that can heal the internal injuries of martial artists." Cui Meng sighed. "I have a distant relative outside the palace, one of those martial artists, who was injured before by someone using inner strength." She paused, "You know about inner strength, right? It’s where the inner strength caused injuries that haven’t healed. He even considered going to Yunmen Mountain for treatment but couldn’t find the way. Somehow he learned about you and sent a message to the palace, asking for my help."
Yang Ruxin slightly raised her eyebrow; the reasoning was flawless. She then nodded: "You must know that the reason my medicines are effective is due to their precious ingredients. It’s not easy to make even one pill."
"I understand, I’m willing to pay," the Imperial Concubine eagerly nodded. "As long as it’s not too excessive, I’m not that wealthy, after all."
"I’ll only charge the cost, ten thousand taels per pill."
"No problem." The Imperial Concubine nodded quickly upon hearing this. "I’ll have someone fetch the silver right away."
"There’s no rush, as I didn’t bring any pills with me. When leaving the palace, you can have someone come over for a handover."
"That’s fine." The Imperial Concubine thought for a moment and agreed.
Meanwhile, Jiang Fangfei and Xu Huairui were discussing fragrance sachets, prompted by Xu Huairui noticing the pleasant scent from Jiang Fangfei’s sachet.
Jiang Fangfei took her personal sachet from her waist: "Inside are the spices blended by Xinxin, each scent has different therapeutic effects."
