The three of them had just walked out of the private room and were about to go downstairs when they saw that the room at the end of the corridor had opened as well. A few people came out, and one of them curled his lips when he saw Yang Ruxin.

"I’ve been well." Yang Ruxin smiled and put on a look of sudden realization. "Taibai Building, huh. I really didn’t expect Taibai Building to be a chain." As she spoke, she slightly raised her brows and swept a glance over the two men behind him. "So that means Shopkeeper Zhu has been promoted?"
Baihua County was just a small county town, nothing like Haijin City, and the scale of Taibai Building also differed. So the value of the Shopkeeper there and the shopkeeper here was naturally not the same.
"I’m flattered that the boss thinks so highly of me." Zhu Hengtai hurriedly shook his head modestly. "What’s this? Is madam on her way to Beijing?"
"Yes. My man is in Beijing; I can’t let us live apart in two different places forever, can I?" Yang Ruxin nodded. Zhu Hengtai, however, watched Yang Ruxin’s departing back, his gaze flickering.
At the door, Yang Ruxin took the reins from the Xiao’er, patted Zhui Yun, and her eyes narrowed slightly, but she didn’t say anything. She simply led the horse and walked out.
They had just left the busy streets when Yang Xiong was about to part ways. He needed to stay behind to investigate Taibai Building.
Yang Ruxin stopped him instead. "Someone tampered with your horse, but it won’t take effect for another hour." As she spoke, she handed him a small bottle. "Before it kicks in, take it to the riverside, feed it this, and then make it drink as much water as you can."
Yang Xiong’s expression changed slightly, but he didn’t say anything. He took the bottle and led his own mount away.
"Madam, does that mean they tampered with ours as well?" Chai Qin frowned and began checking her own mount, but unfortunately couldn’t find anything.
"Yes. I’d say someone is probably after my life." Yang Ruxin smiled. In an hour, they would have just left Haijin City, but not yet reached Beijing. If their mounts had an incident in some nowhere land, and someone launched an ambush on top of that, the odds of survival would be slim.
