And Yang Ruxin finally passed out in spectacular fashion beneath her man.

Only then did Gu Qingheng stop moving. He lowered his head and kissed the corner of the sleeping woman’s mouth. He just didn’t want her going to the Wang Residence to see the Han Prince, so what? Would Qi Jinghao actually dare to come snatch her away?

Right at that moment, Gu Di’s voice sounded at the door: "General, the Han Prince is here."

"Got it." A glint flashed in Gu Qingheng’s eyes, but he still didn’t get up right away. Instead he once again kissed the corner of his wife’s mouth. It wasn’t much of a solution, but if he could stall one day, it was one day.

Since Gu Di didn’t hear any further instructions from Gu Qingheng, he could only go to the front hall first. He couldn’t just leave the Han Prince sitting there alone. As the butler, it was only right to go keep him company.

Qi Jinghao sat there sipping tea slowly. When he saw Gu Di come in, he lifted his eyelids slightly. "Where’s your madam?"

"Our madam was too tired yesterday. She’s still asleep," Gu Di said with a faint smile, his tone neither humble nor overbearing.

Too tired yesterday? Now that was loaded. Exhausted from taking the Emperor’s pulse by day, and exhausted from sleeping with her own man by night.

The corner of Qi Jinghao’s mouth twitched, but he quickly smoothed his expression. "This prince is free anyway. I’ll wait."

"Madam is still fast asleep. We don’t know when she’ll wake," Gu Di reminded him.

"No matter," Qi Jinghao waved a hand. "When madam wakes, just report to me."

Gu Di said nothing more. He merely called a young servant to stand guard at the door and come in every so often to refill the tea.

The result left Qi Jinghao speechless: he waited a full two and a half hours, sitting from late morning all the way into early afternoon.

And Gu Qingheng never went to see Qi Jinghao at all. After getting up he went straight to his post. For his wife’s sake, he’d already delayed half a day.

When lunchtime came, no one came to invite him to eat. Instead, some unknown source of delicious smells kept drifting in, teasing his stomach until he was starving.

He was furious, but still sat there with no reaction, continuing to wait. He just didn’t dare drink any more tea—the more tea he drank, the hungrier he got.

In Hengxin Pavilion, when Yang Ruxin woke up again, there wasn’t a single part of her body that didn’t ache. She cursed him as a Beast in her heart, yet her mood was quite cheerful, because she really did feel relaxed in both body and mind. After all, women do need a man’s "watering" to stay blooming, right?

Chai Qin came in to help her get up. Seeing the blue-purple and red marks all over her neck, her little face flushed bright red on the spot.

"Don’t be shy." Yang Ruxin patted Chai Qin’s cheek. "Once you’re married, you won’t be any better off." Yang Xiong was already in his late twenties; before this it had been nothing but training and missions, to the point he couldn’t even walk in the sunlight, let alone touch a woman. Once he had a wife, how could he possibly hold back? Just look at Shangguan Fei—after things were settled with Du Man, even a gentleman couldn’t keep it together, right? Otherwise how would they end up with a shotgun wedding?

Besides, just thinking of how Chai Qin’s lips had been gnawed into sausages by Yang Xiong before said it all. That guy was probably no better than Shangguan Fei—another starving wolf.

"Madam, why is it that you never shy away from dirty talk?" Chai Qin stomped her foot.

"Your madam here is called being genuine. I say whatever’s on my mind. Way better than those people who keep quiet on the surface while scheming up a storm inside." Yang Ruxin chuckled. "And remember this: as long as you’re strong enough yourself, things like ’reputation’ can’t hurt you."
