Chapter 2949: Chapter 2949: The Residence (Part 4)

After Gu Qingheng symbolically declined twice, he followed along.

Jin Buhuan’s residence is southwest of Shangjing, right by Moon Lake, in the wealthy area of Shangjing City.

"There are a total of four mansions around Moon Lake, and it was quite an effort for me to buy one," Jin Buhuan explained to Gu Qingheng and Yang Ruxin as they walked. "Not to mention, that one over there belongs to a member of the Imperial Family."

"Does it belong to a Prince or a princess?" Yang Ruxin curiously looked back towards the opposite side of Moon Lake. The lake wasn’t large, its shape was crescent-like, so even the mansions across the lake weren’t far apart, and one could see the artificial hills rising in the other courtyard.

"I heard it’s a princess who was originally sent to Daxuan for a political marriage but later returned with her Prince Consort," Jin Buhuan boasted. "And that one diagonally opposite is..."

Yang Ruxin and Gu Qingheng exchanged a glance and stopped listening to Jin Buhuan because they had so easily obtained the information they wanted. Wasn’t their luck a bit too good?

After Jin Buhuan excitedly introduced all three neighbors, they reached the main entrance.

Seeing their master return, the gatekeeper hurried over to pay respects, while another servant went inside to announce the news.

Soon, an old man-looking butler rushed out: "The master has returned."

"Old Jin, these are my distinguished guests. Quickly prepare the best guest rooms and don’t slight them. For now, prepare a meal; we’re all hungry."

Thus, Gu Qingheng and Yang Ruxin stayed at the Jin Residence.

Logically, with Jin Buhuan being so wealthy and the Jin Residence so large, there should be many people. However, after residing there for two days, they found plenty of servants, but only Jin Buhuan was the master.

Although they found it strange, it was after all the owner’s private matter. As long as it didn’t interfere with others, they didn’t plan to interrogate him.

During those two days, Jin Buhuan took Gu Qingheng and Yang Ruxin around town, visiting several of his shops and estates, demonstrating his business acumen.

They then examined several shops, and those selling Daxuan specialties had prime locations and environments.

"I’ve hidden nothing from you. So, what do you think? Can we discuss a potential partnership?" Jin Buhuan only broached the topic with Gu Qingheng three days later.

"Sure," Gu Qingheng nodded. "So, how do you suggest we cooperate?"

"You provide the goods, I’ll provide the shop and manpower, and we’ll split the profits 50-50."

"Old Master Jin is indeed generous," Yang Ruxin gave a thumbs up. "However, you must know we don’t plan to stay here long-term, so this model poses too much risk for us."

Jin Buhuan chuckled: "What does madam suggest then?"

"We’ll deliver the goods to Border City at our price; however you sell them or for how much is not our concern," Yang Ruxin looked at Jin Buhuan. "What does Old Master Jin think of this proposal?"

"This..."

"Isn’t Old Master Jin concerned about not being able to sell them?" Yang Ruxin noticed Jin Buhuan hesitate and smirked slightly. "It’s alright. When the previous shipment arrives, give it a try. If it sells well, then we’ll talk further. How about that?"

Jin Buhuan looked at Gu Qingheng.

Gu Qingheng nodded.

"Then it’s settled," Jin Buhuan slapped the table.
