The First Legendary Beast Master

Chapter 1924 Darklight Altruism?

Chapter 1924 Darklight Altruism?

Before long, the whole dungeon was cleared, and everyone was gathered at the door again, with the summoned creatures dismissed and the beasts in their spaces.

"This has been a most productive dungeon. How about the same time next week? Morning runs seem best, when there's so much to mine," The Yizimon Elder suggested.

Karl checked with Dana, then nodded. "That works for us. We will let you know if something comes up, but setting up a schedule will help keep the resource flow to the workshops filled."

"That is true. With a growing Guild, there is never enough material. We don't even take all that many new members, since nobody wants to join a Mining Clan. But even with that, we still struggle to keep up with orders and resources for members."

Dana gave him a gentle smile. "We also sponsor a Dragon Orphanage, so we need materials for the hatchlings as well."

"Damn, filthy rich, talented, and altruistic? Is the Darklight Host just going for Immortal Guild of the decade?"

Dana laughed. "Mostly it's that Karl collects things at a level that most would call hoarding, and not all of them are nonliving things. He managed to get a hundred abandoned dragon eggs at once, so we've got an inordinate number of hatchlings."

"That's a story we need to hear at some point. It's not just anyone who can end up with a hundred dragon eggs, and not have a world ending invasion by the Dragon Church on their hands."

Dana laughed. "We recruited the Red Dragons to run the orphanage. Who else would be suitable to raise hatchlings? Besides, the Black Dragon and his avatars have a particular aversion to letting Beast Master type classes bond dragons."

Karl in particular, as they weren't all that concerned about Lotus, except for the fact that she was connected to Karl.

One day, they would learn what the big deal was.

The teams separated, and Karl led the way back to the Guild House, where everyone was waiting to see what they had brought back.

It was no secret that Karl had just finished two high-ranking dungeons, so there should definitely be some crafting materials for the Guild. He didn't ever bother with gear, after all.

Why would he, when he could make better gear than what dropped in the dungeons?

"Welcome back, Branch Leader. Or should we say Elders? Congratulations on making it to Ascended Immortal. That's got to be a new record of some sort, even for the Divine Beast species, it usually takes a decade or more to make it that far after birth." Elder Blackwood greeted Karl and Dana as the portal opened outside the Guild House.

"Thank you, it's good to be back. We've collected all sorts of good stuff this time, including some Supreme Ranked materials for Lady Rue.

The next time there is an auction, we will have to put an item or two up for bidding and see how it does."

In the crafting room upstairs, Rue shook her head. Did they actually need to get involved in auctions at this point? They were not short on money. In fact, they could sell enough items just with the people who came seeking them personally.

Then, she realized what Karl's intention was.

Not to get money for the Guild, but to build reputation for the Guild. If you put up a few Peerless Grade Immortal items, and a Supreme Ranked Epic item at auction, every Clan in the region would know who you were by the end of the day, and your reputation would spread all over the continent within a month.

The Darklight Host would be a household name after only a few items sold.

Keeping people talking about the Guild would attract more craftsmen who were dissatisfied with their situation to come check out the Darklight Host. And while that could come with some problems with the Clans they were leaving, Rue doubted that Karl would be all that upset if someone did come to cause trouble.

Now that his core team was pushing up through Ascended Immortal, it wouldn't be long before they had some of the strongest Elders in the region.

The Lycans were already very strong, though limited in number. With the New Home to back them up, and Karl's own combat power, they would have to get themselves in as much trouble as Rue's own Gathuzan Clan had to be in real danger.

But if she had Karl and his team on her side, Rue was reasonably certain that her Clan could have held against the entire alliance.

Now, if they could attract a few of the foreign members of the Darklight Host, the ones from branches where the Supremes were nothing special, they could turn into the tyrants of the Cachia region.

If they added even three or four Supremes to the Guild, even the Almeixei Sect wouldn't be able to stop them from doing as they pleased.

Karl wasn't particularly interested in ruling the region, but he was interested in not having people trying to stop him from doing as he pleased. The trade traffic that they were getting from the docks was going to help with that as well.

There were two ships waiting there now for Lady Rae to return, and they had already purchased bulk goods from the rest of the Guild.

Both were Blue Elves, "Unauthorized Merchants" as Rue liked to call them, as the word pirate suggested that they didn't buy any of their trade goods, which was untrue. They bought many of their trade goods, and only sank the vessels of factions that had a quarrel with them.

Downstairs, Karl began to sort the loot from Cara's new pile into the crafts that it would primarily go to. Metals to the smiths, stone to the sculptors, and the assorted Elemental Stones set aside for whatever project happened to need them.

Accessories and weapons used them the most. But now that they had tonnes of Mana Jade, they could start making statues that would have unique abilities that might need an elemental stone to take effect.

Especially with the way that Karl loved to add skill effects to statues.
