Chapter 1941 Exhausted From Training
Chapter 1941 Exhausted From Training
The moment that they were out of the training, and the effects of the training area wore off, the whole group of Elven students seemed to mentally collapse.
They were exhausted beyond what they had ever thought was possible, and that dark elf was a slave driver.
It didn't matter how good he was, that man was evil.
"I see that you've all gotten properly acquainted with my old friend Drazzit. Isn't it a wonderful training experience? It's just a shame that I couldn't make him as strong as he is in real life, my skills simply aren't up to the level that he is at.
But if you stick with the Darklight Host long enough, you might get to meet him one day.
He doesn't live on this planet, he's resident in the Divine Realms these days, an ancient Demigod that loves to train new generations of Elves how to fight.
But he's very much still alive."
The students looked horrified.
If he was that bad at Supreme Ranked, how terrifying would he be as a Demigod? They hadn't even forced him to use a skill the entire time that they were there. He only relied on the basics of the combat style that he was teaching, nothing more.
And that was still enough to humiliate all of them at the same time.
They were Elves, for the goddess' sake, not Orcs or humans. They were already agile and coordinated, but he made them all look like newborn fawns wobbling on their spindly legs.
"How was it? Was it amazing? Sister Lotus said that we can all go in to train later," Yewan demanded when the Elves picked themselves up to go for dinner.
"That is one word for it.
But I suspect that you all will get a different teacher than we did. Karl and Dana both got different ones, and you're a dragon hatchling, so they'll want to teach you about flying."
Yewan laughed and puffed a small bit of black energy.
"They're always teaching us how to fly better. There is an obstacle course here that we have been trying to master since we were just hatchlings, but we still can't get to the time that the Matron set.
She promised that if we could beat the fastest time, we could have two whole days off flight training to just play.
Isn't that great?
But we haven't beat it yet, so we're still doing the daily training until we do."
"Who set the high score that you're trying to beat? Was it one of the bigger dragons? They've got an advantage in pure speed."
Yewan shook his head. "No, it was Sister Opal, the Forest Trickster. She's crazy fast too, and agile. But she's not a dragon, so we can definitely beat her soon."
That was definitely not true, and every Elf knew it.
The butterfly winged Fae could fly circles around a dragon, both in speed and agility. Even if it was an adult dragon. Having the children try to beat an arbitrary target that she set was just the instructors giving the kids something to work towards.
Then, once they got their day off, she would set a faster time, and they would start all over.
However, they were all too tired to explain that to the super excited little dragon, so they simply gathered their food, and tossed some bits of roast meat for Yewan to catch.
Dragons might not like to play fetch, but they were enthusiastic about meat.
"Should we gather them up and put them to bed once they eat? Or do you think that they will manage to make it all the way back to their rooms?" Opal asked as she watched them slowly woking on their dinner.
"Send them back to their rooms when they're done, or when they fall asleep with food in their hands. They'll be right as rain after a long night's sleep, and then we can test their improvements and see what needs to be improved next.
Rue will likely insist on more combat training, which is a good thing. I'm not anywhere near done either, though Dana might be." Karl explained.
Opal laughed, "Oh, she's got a long way to go as well. But she's aiming at a much more challenging target than you are."
That was a given. Karl's goal was to improve his duelling skills until they were somewhere near where Dana had been before this additional training began. He mostly relied on the fact that he was hard to kill to win duels, or used overwhelming force.
But Dana was an actual duellist.
Her skills were optimally suited for it, where Karl's were more that of a General. Capable of fighting as the final boss for the enemy, but mostly there to bolster his troops.
Especially now that he had gained new summoning skills.
His only saving grace was that they mostly weren't ones that Dana could use, so they didn't overlap on all their combat skills this time. But if he was going to keep standing out as the Branch Leader, Karl knew that he needed to find a new secret weapon.
Or not so secret, since so many people could read his mind.
Cara laughed in Karl's mind. [We could try combining more fun skills. What if we combined Mana Suppression with Void Blast? Maybe we could just knock the magic right out of them. It would be even more fun than putting a nullify effect on the area, and we could combine it with Crippling Anxiety to make them doubt themselves.]
Rae mentally rolled all her eyes at the badger. That wouldn't even hurt them, much less kill them. She just wanted to annoy someone to death.
Cara shrugged. The spider wasn't wrong.
But Remi had other ideas. [What if we used Karl as a form of shock trooper. Just drop him in the back lines of an enemy army to start calling summoned creatures and disrupting their order? He could take Cara with him, and then the rest of us could fight in peace.]
[Hey, I'm a good fighter.] Cara complained.
[But you keep making them chase after you in a rage, which makes it impossible for the rest of us to deal maximum damage.]
The Naga also wasn't wrong.
Her sisters were picking on her today. What was next? Skadi making jokes at her expense?
