Chapter 1944 Personalized Cook Wear
Chapter 1944 Personalized Cook Wear
Karl sketched out the runes for the spell, and realized that he was going to have to get creative with what design he picked, as not even a standard necklace would work for this, and putting it on an amulet would be a huge item unless he layered it, which would make the items much more complex and time consuming.
So, he called in a professional.
"Lala, I'm making new necklaces for the cooks that have a chance to improve the bonuses on the food. But I need to pick a design.
They need a lot of surface area, so not a thin necklace, something substantial.
"Ooh, can we get them personalized? I want a nice white collar, with pink hearts, and my name on it."
She even had a sketch.
The thought of Lala wearing one of those to show off for anyone made Karl laugh a little. For one, half the bunnies here were named Lala, so it didn't narrow down who she was. But the design of the collar looked way too much like what you would give to a favoured house pet back in the Golden Dragon Nation.
Lala thought so, too. That was why she liked it. Dana had explained the concept of pets to them all when they first met, and then Rae had elaborated.
But the bunnies all thought that was a step up from employees, which was already better than servants, which was how they were treated everywhere else.
So, Lala was extremely excited about having a cute thing to wear that she could call her very own, while having it help her cooking. Not that they were short on cute things, with so many nature Priestesses around.
But those were generic cute things. Mass produced for their bonuses.
"Alright, I don't have a problem with that. Can you go ask all the other bunnies what they would like their necklace to look like? Then the other cooks as well."
"Got it.
Is there a reason that the cooks get ours first?"
"The cooks make everyone happy, so they've earned the benefit this time. Happy people do better work, and better food makes everyone happier. I think that giving the cooks the first bonus is the best possible option."
Satisfied with the answer, Lala ran off to grab the others, or at least their notes on the cute thing that they wanted. As long as it was large enough for the Karl to put the bonus on, it should be fine.
Well, except for the few who wanted cute things that weren't wearable.
Those ones would have to be altered in some way, as you couldn't keep a dragon plushie with you when you were cooking, no matter how much better you liked the fluffy version than the actual hatchlings, who were getting larger and less cuddly by the day.
An hour later, Karl had a huge stack of drawings in front of him, and one white metal collar with pink hearts that were made out of fire elemental stones.
The metal was naturally bright white, and came from the mining dungeon, but Karl had made the backing out of white silk. Layered for padding, that would make it comfortable to wear all the time, though bonded magical items didn't usually chafe anyhow.
"Lala, try this on and let me know if it's just what you dreamed of."
The bunny squealed with joy as she latched the collar around her neck, then grabbed a very startled Dana in a hug and spun her in circles.
"Look, look what the Karl made for me! Isn't it beautiful? I will never take it off ever again."
Dana blinked once, very slowly, and Karl felt a chill run down his spine.
Thinking quickly, he held up the design sketch. "I'm making custom items for all the cooks, based on the drawings that they brought me. They help with the quality of Divine Cooking, and add extra agility, so the bunnies can move even more easily around the kitchen."
The sketch calmed Dana, and Lala laughed as she realized there had been a miscommunication.
"We all wanted a cute thing to wear, but it had to be bigger than a ring or regular bracelet.
Some did pick a forearm sized bracer, but I wanted this. Look at the hearts, aren't they perfect?"
Lala's ears were practically bouncing with joy as she spoke, and Dana found it impossible to remain upset about the misunderstanding.
"You are right, it is adorable. The silk even perfectly matches the slightly off white colour of your ears. Was that Rae's doing, or the System?"
Lala checked herself in the mirror and shrugged. "The System, I think It should have been pure white before I put it on."
Her squeals of joy brought others over, and Karl got right to work making the next item in the stack of images. Or, he had Tian get right to work making the item, so that he could finish the enchantment on it, as the bonus to divine cooking was beyond what Tian's smithy skills could imbue.
But he did take care of the agility and mana recovery bonuses before Karl started on the runes, which left them a bit of extra space to work with.
This one was also a necklace, but one that lay flat against the chest and sat on the shoulders.
Not a style that Karl was too familiar with, but there were others like it, so it had to be something that the Bunnies knew well. Or the Elves, Karl realized, as he saw some of the names on similar items.
The second bunny, also Lala, accepted her necklace, and draped it over her shoulders to try it on, the bright silver glinting in the light as little fox head designs smiled up at the world. Karl could see that Tian had clearly made them in his own image, when the design simply specified foxes. But the bunny wouldn't mind, all the bunnies loved Tian.
