Chapter 1946 The Other Kind Of Customer

Chapter 1946 The Other Kind Of Customer

"Greetings customers, you look like this is your first visit to the Darklight Host Guild store. Was there anything in particular that you were looking for? Perhaps something suited to your Clan's technique?

We specialize in making recruitment items for Acolytes, as well as custom pieces targeted to specific styles," Karl greeted the mixed group of Peak Immortals who had just come into the shop.

The Immortals stared at the strange sight in front of them. A man from a species that they couldn't quite identify, or perhaps cultivating some strange technique that altered his body, was flanked by two Dark Elven Priestesses, and what appeared to be a fourteen year old Lycan girl.

And they were standing under a row of peerless grade items that were very clearly made by the Guild's crafters.

But even that was not the strangest part.

The man was labelled as being an Epic Grade creature, and he held the title of Branch Leader.

What sort of strange place had they been sent to this time?

"We were informed by a friend of the Clan that your Guild has many interesting items for sale. We missed out on them when they went up for auction at the docks near our Clan, so we were hoping that there might be more here for sale."

Karl nodded. "Oh, from the Elves' sales. Yes, we have more similar items to that, as we are producing them for the next fleet.

What can we get for you?"

"That item on the shelf. It looks like a peerless grade item for those who have the [Stone Crusher] attack ability, an Epic Grade warrior skill. Do you have items for warriors that specialize in other skills."

"We do, but you've misunderstood. The item is for those who do not have the skill, as the item allows you to use the skill when you attack without knowing it.

In fact, if you use it enough, there is a very low chance that you can actually learn it without a skill book," Karl explained.

"You... are selling an item that grants an Epic Grade skill?"

"But only when you're using it." Karl agreed.

The men didn't seem to know what to say to that. It was the most preposterous thing that they had been told this decade, and the item was far more extreme than what the Elves had been selling.

But what sort of price would the Darklight Host demand for something like that?

"May I know the asking price for that item?"

Karl shrugged. "We do all Peerless Grade items strictly on barter for magical materials and other resources. Plants, ores, resources of all sorts, but not magical items unless they are exceptionally interesting.

I'm sure you understand, as we are a crafting guild."

Essentially, Karl was telling them to name their price, and he would tell them if he found it acceptable. And that put them on the spot, as they had to guess the value of their resources in this region, the value of the item, and how much of a markup Karl would want for the fact that Peerless grade items were so rarely sold.

Seeing their hesitation, Karl relented. "You can go by the System value for both items plus ten percent sales fee. The Guild will accept nearly all forms of crafting materials in exchange."

Now that was a relief. They finally had a guideline to how much Karl was willing to sell for, and how much he would value their trade goods at.

So, the best bet was to trade with what was common in their region and sold for less than market value.

With that in mind, one of the men quickly brought out a collection of Eternal Ice fragments, a resource from the dungeon that his Guild controlled.

They were not the most valuable of resources, but could be used in crafting in place of regular crystal or water element stones to create ice element weapons. The only drawback was that they were rather fragile and the weapons couldn't be repaired or sharpened like a conventional metal weapon could.

Once they were damaged, that was the beginning of the end for them.

Karl didn't mind, though.

Resources were resources, and they were good not only for weapons, but for decorative jewellery that would benefit from elemental damage bonuses. Or, he could use it to add an ice element skill to the item.

There were great possibilities.

"Acceptable. There you go, enjoy your new item."

The Elder looked overjoyed that Karl wasn't going to haggle or make things difficult for him, and that encouraged the others to also make a purchase request.

"There isn't an item there that matches my lightning magic, do you happen to have any more peerless grade items in stock?"

Karl nodded, "I can swap one out for the next shipment. Lightning is one of our more common requests, since it's a stronger attack element."

Karl considered the options for a few seconds, then brought out a Lightning Element bracelet, which had 500 percent skill damage to [Chain Lightning] added to it, as well as reduced casting time, and increased mana regeneration.

"What about this? It doesn't have an added skill, but it's got a huge amount of damage to a common one added to it.

That sort of bonus isn't weak."

The Immortal examined the bracelet, then the one on his own wrist, and sighed. He had been using both of his bracelets for some time now, but this was definitely a step up.

Perhaps it was time to retire one of the old ones to his apprentice?

No, that brat hadn't earned it yet. He would keep it as a spare and pass it down later.

This time the price was paid in wind element ore, which Karl gladly accepted. They didn't get a lot of wind element materials to work with lately, and metal that was aligned with the wind was exceptionally rare.

Not horribly valuable, as it was not easy to work with, but rare.

"Thank you for your business. Now, who is next?"

The door opened and a pair of Peak Immortal Dragonkin walked in.

"We will be next, Guild Leader of the Darklight Host. We believe you have someone who belongs to us."
