The First Legendary Beast Master

Chapter 1968 Publicity Plan

Chapter 1968 Publicity Plan

The new arrivals all sighed. "We were afraid of that. So many worlds get made and never properly stocked with advanced craftsmen because the Legends and Demigods who made them were combat focused.

I suppose that means there is going to be a major upheaval in the region once it starts to adjust. But there are some other concerns that we have. Like that null zone in the ocean, and the fact that there are so few Legends on this world.

Seriously, there has to be someone watching over the place."

Nerissa shrugged. "The Legends do it as a council. There might be a Demigod or two on the planet, but none of them are active."

Skadi raised her hand to get everyone's attention. "The Blue Elves have a Demigod turtle, but it's sleeping."

That seemed to startle everyone but Karl and Rue, who already knew.

"The Blue Elves? Do you mean the Waveriders?" Louie asked.

"Waverider is a class they get, to control their ships," Karl replied, unsure if that was what they meant.

"And you're allied with them? That's a relief. They've often been friends of the Guild."

Skadi laughed. "They even brought children for Karl to train. Life experience to prepare them to become captains, their big boss lady said. The Elves are nice. They are water people, not forest people, but they're good at teaching me how to swim."

The dragons chuckled at her excitement. She was a Forest Lord. If she was in trouble, even the fish in the lake would help her and push her onto shore.

"It seems that your isolated branch really does live up to the ideals of the Darklight Host. You didn't even know about our wider scale alliances, and you still managed to cultivate the same group of allies." Louie congratulated them.

Karl laughed. "The Elves actually came to us for the training alliance because they had heard on other worlds that the Host was reliable. But we were already trading partners, since we have a deep water port here.

It's fairly well sheltered, and we operate as a free port."

"Ah, that makes sense. Not all the branches are anywhere near the ocean, and I didn't realize that this was a major sea trade route." Louie replied.

Nerissa shook her head. "It wasn't until Karl moved his people in. The Clan that was here before got so little boat traffic that their docks hadn't seen anything but a fishing boat in years.

Now, they're getting trade caravans weekly, bringing magical resources to trade for crafted items.

I don't know how it was on your home world, but this branch has become so wealthy that my own members come here to get gear instead of coming to our own Clan Warehouse. It's so bad that we opened a Clan Warehouse branch here just to make sure that the members were still turning in resources to us."

Karl laughed. Min had been incredibly busy at the warehouse lately, and she hadn't even gotten a chance to meet Skadi yet.

She would soon, as it would be her day off. But with the increase in resources thanks to the mana gathering array Karl placed on the region, there was quite a steady stream of goods going to the New Home warehouse, which purchased gear from the Darklight Host to maintain stock in their warehouse.

Min had the system down pretty well, though. She would take preorders for specific items, then ask the Lycans to make what she needed for the warehouse and have it delivered in a day or two.

Rue cleared her throat and began to speak. "Now, what are the immediate plans? There are some extenuating circumstances regarding my presence. If we're making our full strength obvious, I should reveal my presence, but that is going to come with some trouble.

There was just an attack by cronies of an Alliance that is looking for me.

If they come for me in force, it could be dangerous for the common members of the Guild."

"How strong are they?" Leon asked, ready to make defensive plans.

"They had ten Supremes as Alliance leaders. I killed seven, and they replaced them with Peak Immortals. So, at the peak, they shouldn't be a major threat. The issue is that their Alliance still controls tens of thousands of lower ranking Immortals.

That's a threat not just to us, but also to the New Home Merchant Clan, who openly stands with us."

The Seraphim nodded. "Should we do a preemptive strike. Just show up with a few area damage specialists and wipe out the majority of their forces before they can attack?"

Rue shook her head. "Possible, but not easy. The Alliance is settled inside a compound that once held a number of peak Legends. They are long gone, but their defensive arrays remain.

Launching a direct assault on them needs to break Legendary protective wards."

"Then, we just let everyone know that we have the strength to enforce our will. I dislike excessive death tolls, but there are enough of us that simply throwing numbers at us won't work. Once they realize that, whatever grudge they held against you should become secondary.

What are they mad at you about, anyhow?"

"At first, it was that my Clan was getting the good recruits from the region. Then, after they wiped out the Gathuzan Clan, they started hunting the survivors to get vengeance for their lost Supremes.

Their power is shaky, and as long as their enemies in the region know that I'm alive, they are a bit of a joke in the eyes of every other Alliance.

So, the assertions are mostly about their pride, and claiming that I used a forbidden spell to defeat them."

"Did you?"

"Yes, but that's not the point."

The Seraphim laughed and patted her on the shoulder. "The court of public opinion is strong. As long as we publicly bring you into the Guild and announce your presence as well as your innocence, we can shape the narrative to make them look like sore losers grasping at straws.

As long as it wasn't something that left too much evidence, it should be fine."

Rue shook her head. "It's not that bad. I used a cursed Divine Artifact to cast [Karmic Retribution] on them. That's been banned in war for some time, but the spell itself isn't anything that they can prove."

The Seraphim's smile grew even wider. "And if they dare to say it clearly, we can claim that it was their own fault, as they wouldn't have suffered fatal backlash if they were in the right."
