Chapter 2027 The Best Chaos

Chapter 2027 The Best Chaos

What Cara had planned for the arena was not a prank, not one of the expected unusual functions that she had become fairly well known for.

No, what she planned was so much better.

Instead of creating chaos by altering random aspects of the arena, she fully intended to prevent all chaos in the arena, by causing all attempts to influence the arena to snap back to the default settings.

So, while many people would try to influence the fights inside the arena, or cheat before they entered for their fights, the changes that Cara influenced would stop them, and the effects would fail just as badly as if they were [Nullified].

Of course, the arena also had a [Nullify] effect for violence inside the stadium. But stopping the fights that would inevitably break out in the stands was much less fun than making everyone think that they had managed to cheat, only for the effect to fail for no apparent reason.

Chaos through order.

The ultimate Chaos.

Layer upon layer of runes were put in place, adding to the arena, while Oak made suggestions about things that should be added, even though they weren't part of the core design.

There was the option to put a shade on the barrier over the arena so that they could reduce the glare from the sun when they were fighting in the afternoon. It would be more comfortable for the spectators, and the combatants wouldn't notice the difference, as the actual arena floor had its own environment.

Even if they put a sunshade on the spectators, the fighters would see their own world.

The only "tweaks" that Cara decided to make to the arena was in the vendor section. When she pulled in Karl to do the [Pet Space] parts, she would be able to add new items to the menu at some of the shops run by constructs.

So, instead of her having the badger mess with the arena itself, she was just tweaking the food vendors to start producing randomized daily specials.

That would be more than enough to entertain Cara, since you never knew what it was going to make with the equipment and ingredients supplied. There were hundreds or thousands of options available with the same ingredients, so sometimes it could be something completely unexpected.

But it could only use what was available, and it would be limited by the Pet Space spell to always make something that was edible and marginally enjoyable to eat.

So, the prank wouldn't go too far and end up poisoning someone.

In fact, it would even stop the construct working the counter from selling people products that they were allergic to. Although, it wouldn't save you from stupidity, so if you told the clerk that the food was for someone else then ate it yourself, that was on you.

So, what they ended up with was an arena that looked very much like the arena in Zilaz on the outside, but with nature themed carvings, thanks to the pair of Green Dragons, and a much wider variety of food options.

Even though the Immortals weren't all that creative with their snacks.

"Well, that should do to get us started. Will we need to send supplies over?" Oak asked as she stared at the newly constructed entertainment facility.

Cara shook her head. "Not for the shops that have people at them. Well, constructs.

Those ones are all operated by the spells on the arena, and they will stock themselves. If more cooks want to set up shop, there is space, and they will bring their own goods. But it should be good enough that we can close the other arena to new contestants and move everyone over."

That was excellent, but also terrible news for Oak.

While her father was now free from attending the arena, that also meant that he could be leaving at any moment, to head back to the duties they had called him away from in order to help them with the dungeon.

He also had an obligation to tell the rest of the Guild what they had done and how, so that others could try to emulate and improve upon it.

Getting the perfect dungeon was important.

Father Oak simply closed the entrance to the other arena space, and when people realized that nobody was coming, they would come out to see what happened. It wouldn't take them long to find this place, you could see it from the Dungeon, and already there were people coming to investigate.

Oak waved to the Clan Leaders, "Welcome to the Blackwoods Arena.

The number of fights related to the new dungeon convinced us that we needed a permanent facility for settling fights, and this is it. Come in and explore, there are food vendors, multiple arena floor areas, and everything else that you could need."

The first few Elders from the visiting Clans came to explore the arena, and then one paused in confusion as a Succubus in a black and white lolita dress placed a cupcake in his hand.

Cara howled with laughter, while Oak and her father simply looked confused.

The Demon vanished after half a second, leaving the man with his cupcake and a baffled expression, until Cara came over to explain.

"It's a random reward for super special visitors to the arena. Count yourself lucky, not everyone is going to manage to get such a wonderful thing."

The Elder examined the cupcake, then took a careful bite. His eyes opened wide, and Cara decided that she got the spell just right. The effects of the cupcake were strong enough to be noticed, but not extreme enough that people would go out of their way to try to understand how they were being allocated.

Then, The Moron stepped into the arena, and the succubus appeared again.

She handed him a cupcake, and the warrior smiled. But before he could speak a word, she stuffed a second cupcake directly into his mouth, silencing him while the Elders standing nearby burst into laughter.

How bad was this man's luck when even the Succubus didn't give him a chance?
