The First Legendary Beast Master

Chapter 2108 A Viral Hit?

Chapter 2108 A Viral Hit?

The three Captains thought about their options and then brought out a map.

"We have options, both in where we sell and what we sell. It needs to do well at auction, but I know the Darklight Host's accessories sell. However, the demand for weapons is very high right now.

However, we can make multiple stops, and deliver the weapons further east along the southern coast, leaving accessories, defensive items and utility pieces for your territory and the church lands to the north.

We were thinking of purchasing a bunch of Villa Stones from the Darklight Host that were themed as small churches inside.

That sort of wankery is exactly what the pious sorts like.

No offence."

Eryman winked at the Captain, "None taken. If you gave them their own little temple with a cute acolyte who cooks and cleans for them, half the clergy would never leave. I think that you're on to something with the temple themed Villa Stones.

How powerful are they? Just a separate space that comes with some decorations? Or can you gather mana in there to recover and train?"

The Captains turned to Karl, as they hadn't extensively tested the items, they just sold them. The spaces that were made in the ships were something completely different.

"They are made with aspects of the [Pet Space] skill, so they can support training and growth, as well as generate food and water for the occupants. If you want them to come with a gargoyle type or solid illusionary assistant who will cook and clean, that's also possible.

Perhaps we can include that on some of the Supreme Ranked Villa Stones? The Immortal Rank ones usually come without it, and we wouldn't want people thinking that they were cheated," he suggested.

Eryman nodded. "Uniformity is important. Plus, if it can hold multiple people, they can bring their retainer in with them to do the household tasks."

"It can. Even holding ten people in a villa won't cause any issues from a food and mana standpoint, though the mana usage of the item will be higher. It is designed to draw its mana from the surrounding areas, but..."

Karl trailed off, and Eryman nodded.

"If it gathers too much, it can be detected by those outside the entrance point where it is linked to the real world. And that might allow someone with enough power and appropriate skills to break in, or shatter the space and throw the occupants out," the Legend finished.

"Exactly."

The Elves had considered that, as they were worried that someone would do that to the hidden storage on their ships if they found it. But that was the genius of the layered separate space, as they could let them into the "Hidden Hold" without revealing the actual secret hold that had all the good stuff.

So, the investigators were unlikely to find what they were smuggling, and the crew didn't have to worry about losing it in battle, unless the whole ship was lost.

Karl turned to the Elves. "If you want the upgraded Supreme Ranked Villa Stones, I can have some made, Rue knows how. They are significantly more expensive, though. If not, we also sell illusionary assistant trinkets.

The illusion is solid, but not combat capable, and takes very little to destroy. However, like most illusionary trinkets, it's rather affordable, and it will follow instructions, so you can have it fetch and carry items for you if you buy both."

The Captain smiled. "Oh, now that is a selling point. Many might not see the point of an illusionary housekeeper or assistant. But if you pair it with the Villa Stone, they'll get it right away.

It should also be popular among the lower ranks, who are looking to shuffle off some of their duties.

Yes, we would like quite a few of those for this shipment, I think that we can make them a viral trend."

Eryman sighed. He was one hundred percent certain those would soon be banned within the Church, after the first dozen or so Acolytes were caught using them to do their chores. The duties were part of their training in mental endurance, they were not supposed to be enjoyable.

But telling the Acolytes that would only encourage them to insist that they had learned the lesson the first time that they actually completed their tasks, when they hadn't even begun to understand the important parts.

However, the general population of the city would absolutely love them, especially if they really were affordable.

"How cheap are we talking?" He asked.

"We generally sell the trinkets for two Clan Credits, or equivalent in Gold."

Which meant that basically everyone could afford to buy one.

"And they're safe to keep around?" He asked in a leading tone.

"Yes. The clothing is part of the illusion, there is no worry about your clergy doing something that will break their vows."

That made the Elves chuckle, while Eryman snorted in amusement.

"I was more worried about housewives seeing them as a threat, but I get your point. Domestic Staff makes everyone's life easier, in more ways that most would expect. Can they cook?"

Karl shrugged. "No. But you can have the Villa Stone simply produce ready to eat food and they can serve it.

That's good enough for the usual usages. But we also use a similar spell for mining in dungeons, though that's a more advanced bit of magic, and requires the [Reality Warp] spell to be added to make them solid enough to damage the stone.

Those we don't usually sell, it's bad for business if everyone can get their own resources.

But for you, Lord Eryman, or the fine Captains here, we can make an exception."

Mostly because neither was going to try to monopolize dungeon resources and tamper with supply or prices. You couldn't have every group looting the entire dungeon dry with an army of Dwarves, it would tank resource prices into oblivion, and that would mess with the price of all the items as well.

And that was far more headache than anyone was willing to cause themselves.
