The Glorious Evolution

Chapter 441: On to Him.

Chapter 441: On to Him.

Before they could reply, Levi and the rest of the Daywalkers found themselves grouped up in one spot... even Jojo was brought next to them. She was still out cold after Gamemaster Envy healed her wounds.

"She must have sacrificed a lot of lifeforce," Nurah sighed as she caressed Jojo’s slightly ashen cheeks.

She knew that almost all wounds were treated with the system’s help once the game concluded... lifeforce wasn’t on the list.

That’s why all Rifters thought twice before consuming their lifeforce in the games; they understood it was gone forever, and it would be a great hassle to recover it, considering how rare and expensive its natural treasures were.

"Without her going the extra mile, we might not have made it out alive."

Tyrese paid his respects with a nod...

"I will donate any Lifeforce-based treasure for her treatment if we find some in the treasuries."

Evangeline and the others followed suit, knowing that if Jojo hadn’t bought Jasmine time, Rain would have introduced them to a world of horror.

"I can use my wish to restore her wasted lifeforce right now..." Shia offered casually while crouching next to Jojo. Before Arthur and her friends could fight her for it, Shia added calmly, "You gifted me the wish during our first game. It’s my turn to give back."

Levi shook his head in disapproval.

"No, save your wish for yourself," Levi said calmly. "Event wishes offer exclusive Genies based on one’s Main Aspect... you can’t waste such a precious opportunity to strengthen yourself."

Tyrese and the rest agreed... Normally, CRS Platform games offered Genies related to the game’s theme. However, events were special in nature, and the platform had to step up the rewards.

As for Levi’s Unique Wish? It was even more special... but more on that later.

"What about Jojo?" Arthur wondered.

"Leave it to me."

Levi gave a brief reply, but it made everyone drop the matter at once. If their captain said he had it covered, then it was handled.

"Are you done?" Gamemaster Envy repeated sternly. "Will you accept your wishes here or in private?"

"Later."

Levi spoke for his friends, who supported his decision with a nod. They knew Gamemaster Envy was trying to sow bad blood between the three squads since Heliodor’s Raiders were the only ones with access to wishes.

Tyrese’s and Evangeline’s squads only had access to a split of the awarded treasury; yet, none of them seemed to mind. Tyrese even reached out to Levi telepathically, saying they would give them privacy to ask for their wishes in peace.

Levi rejected the idea on the basis that he still hadn’t thought of a good wish and didn’t want to rush it. After settling the matter in private, Gamemaster Envy clicked his tongue as he created three portals in front of them.

"Let’s meet up in the World Tree Plaza."

"Alright."

"See you there."

Without hesitation, Tyrese picked the left portal and went inside with his remaining teammates.

Evangeline’s team chose the right portal, leaving the central one to Levi’s squad. Levi and the other captains had already decided on a three-way treasury split if they won.

It didn’t matter who performed better or worse, as the wishes made it fair for everyone involved. With Levi owning a Unique Wish and his teammates having exclusive wishes, they didn’t mind the split; they weren’t that greedy.

After Arthur picked up Jojo on his back, he led the way through the central portal, followed by Shia, Jasmine, and Nurah. Just as Levi gave Gamemaster Envy a nod and tried to step inside, he heard him utter:

"You remind me greatly of a rising star within the Nocturnal Ring... The Celestial... Ever heard of him?"

Levi froze for a split second at the curveball, but he was already prepared for this. He immediately shook his head with a serene smile. "Oh... my apologies, but I am not very involved with the Nocturnal Ring.... I don’t even have a profile in it."

Hearing this, Gamemaster Envy stared at his expression in silence. Since the game had ended, his omnipotence over Levi had expired. This meant he couldn’t check for sure if Levi was lying without abusing his authority.

"You should look him up... his weapon is similar to yours, and he also wields Aether, Illusion, Melody, and Sound Aspects," Gamemaster Envy added suddenly. "Now that I think about it, he emerged around the same time you popped up..."

"Is that so? Is he any good?" Levi raised a brow in surprise. "It certainly is an amazing coincidence. Thanks for the heads up; I’ll check him out to see if I can learn a thing or two."

Levi maintained his ignorance without skipping a beat. He always knew that the similarities between him and his alter ego were bound to raise alarms as he exposed himself in more games.

Remaining hidden forever was never a possibility unless he had never joined the games using his real persona; still, he had an ace in his pocket to kill off suspicion.

"Coincidence... huh."

Gamemaster Envy thought about it for a moment and then shook his head after rechecking Levi’s contractual unique ID; it wasn’t even close to the Celestial’s Unique ID.

Since it was a known fact that each serial code was based on a Seed, everyone would assume Levi and the Celestial were two different entities sharing similarities, rather than accept that they were the same person with two unique seeds.

"Is that all? My friends are waiting for me," Levi asked.

"Begone..."

Gamemaster Envy waved his hand dismissively and watched Levi disappear into the portal. Even after he was gone, Envy’s eyes never left the spot.

’My Lord has approved to protect about eight powers and mutations involving this kid... I may not know what they are, but I know exactly what the Celestial isn’t hiding.’ Gamemaster Envy narrowed his eyes deeply, still not letting the matter go.

Although he knew it shouldn’t be possible for Levi to own more than one seed and sign up on both platforms, when it came to the Celestial, nothing was impossible.

"There are already a few similarities... I just need to keep an eye on these two," Gamemaster Envy murmured under his breath. "One of them is bound to slip up and share an irreparable clue if they are truly the same person."

While it was impossible to own more than one seed in the eyes of the public, the Gamemasters weren’t commoners. As immortal beings with immense knowledge and omnipotence inside the Boundless Expanse, they knew that owning more than one seed was possible as a theory.

Though the idea that Levi... a mere human... could do it seemed impossible in his eyes.

"Time will tell..." Gamemaster Envy’s lips curved into a faint smirk as he gazed at the two silent giants. "Oh, how I wish it were real... I’m quite eager for some fun chaos to bless the Chained Universe."

Gamemaster Envy didn’t take such a name for no reason; he genuinely envied anyone with the ability to leave the Boundless Expanse.

Since he couldn’t forsake his duties, he wished nothing but chaos on everyone living outside.

It was a hateful wish, but he couldn’t care less.

He was a Gamemaster, and they could afford to be dickheads since no one could touch them in their realm.
