Chapter 1023: As Far As Can Be Seen.

According to what she was seeing, the dragon’s level of Entropy didn’t seem to increase at all. So their resistance didn’t seem to have any impact.

But she couldn’t say this. Not only was it discouraging to say their resistance was useless, but it also had to be wrong.

The dragon had to be taken on Entropy. That was a fundamental rule of the universe. The fact that she couldn’t tell how much he was taking on and what he was doing with it didn’t mean that he wasn’t taking on Entropy.

So after thinking about these things and what to say, she said, "So far, all I can see is that he is collecting Supreme Metacs. The Four Supreme Metacs he just took are inside his Cave Heaven."

Because of the oath she made, the world resonated around them, which informed them of the authenticity of her oath. The fact that she put all of her pathways on the line in the oath, not just one, also showed how sincere she was.

Tepid Scholar, Black Chains, and Sword Maestro relaxed when they heard the oath. But Martial Will didn’t seem to be satisfied.

The Dao Lord of the Martial Body Sect said, "So you’re not lying about the dragon. That’s good to know. But what about other things? Who knows what you’ve hidden from us so far?"

This time, Heavenly Eye refused to capitulate. Instead of swearing another oath stating that she had never lied about anything or promising that she wouldn’t lie about anything from now on, she snorted.

As she snorted, she said, "That’s all you’re going to get. You can take it or leave it."

Before Martial Will could say more to put pressure on her, Tepid Scholar skillfully intervened, saying, "Leave her alone. She has done enough to help us resist the dragon. Besides, she has a lot to deal with right now."

This was all true, but Martial Will refused to be pacified. He said, "I just want to be sure that there isn’t something else that we should know about that could be important to our cause."

With Martial Will being so stubborn, Tepid Scholar could only sigh and say, "What is it exactly that you want to know? Maybe if you narrow the field of inquiry to something reasonable, she can assure you that she hasn’t been lying about it."

Heavenly Eye saw this, but instead of appreciating what Tepid Scholar was doing for her and defending her, she ignored them.

Snorting inwardly, she thought, ’What a bunch of fools! They think they can pull the wool over my eyes by having one of them play the villain while the other plays the hero.’

’They argue on the surface as if they are irreconcilable, but secretly, they are working together. It is all a farce. If they think I can’t see this much, then they have a surprise coming for them.’

Even if she were a new Dao Lord, the fact that the two of them had worked against her when she proposed the fixed unit contribution system should have clued her in to the fact that these two are not averse to working together.

But she isn’t a new and inexperienced Dao Lord. She has had many years of experience and knew that these two were supposed to be enemies but were always ganging up against her.

Knowing this, there was no reason to believe that Tepid Scholar and Martial Will weren’t currently working together to put pressure on her to reveal some of the things she was hiding.

She knew that some of her secrets would be exposed soon, but she would rather they found out than tell her and expose herself, so she ignored them. Besides, she really had a lot to deal with right now.

In the Blessed Heaven World right now, the dragon was killing her avatar. So she had the choice to make between continuing to resist or giving up.

Currently, she had resisted enough to meet her quota of contribution that she swore to earlier. But clearly, that hadn’t been enough to stop the dragon.

Now she had to decide whether to continue resisting in hopes that a little more resistance on her path would be exactly what was needed to put an end to the dragon’s killing spree or give up and accept defeat gracefully.

With a sigh, she thought, ’They say seeing is believing. Having seen this much, I have no choice but to believe.’

If she couldn’t see that the dragon’s level of Entropy wasn’t increasing, maybe she would be like Black Chains and resist to the end. But she could see that what they were doing wasn’t having a visible effect on the dragon.

Besides, she still had more to look forward to in life, and taking on useless Entropy would hamper her. So she decided to give up.

As soon as she gave up, the two eagles in the Blessed Heaven World collapsed. They collapsed at the same time even though only one of them was being attacked at the moment.
