Chapter 1042: The Two-eyed Cyclops.

He attacked with all of his might, but there was no resistance or impact upon contact with the enemy. He felt as if he had hit cotton when he struck the eye. All of his power failed to find purchase on his enemy. In fact, it felt as if he was hitting the air.

He was helpless to resist, but the opponent was able to affect him. In fact, the opponent was able to do much worse than attack him. The enemy was actually taking control of his body from him.

His body first felt electrocuted as the eye entered his body. Then his body became numb, and he became unable to feel anything in it. Finally, he lost control of his body and began falling to the ground.

He couldn’t even maintain enough power in his body to keep levitating. This was something a rank 4 cultivator could do. That’s how much bad the situation was for him. Unfortunately, the situation continued to go down hill from there.

In his Cave Heaven, the eye had appeared in the sky. The scene was exactly what had just happened to the Sea of Worlds. The eye had taken over the entire sky of his Cave Heaven.

His Cave Heaven was clearly not big enough for the eye, but the eye still managed to squeeze itself in. Then it dropped down from the sky into the core of his Cave Heaven.

Like water from a dam, the eye rushed through every corner of his existence, trying to fill it up. When the eye encountered his Divine Spark, it melted and fused with it. Just like that, the eye gained access to the space hidden within his Divine Spark.

The eye appeared in the dark abyss at the bottom layer of his existence. It looked around and quickly spotted the white crystal at the center of this empty space. When it saw this white crystal ball, it rushed towards it without thinking.

For the first time since meeting Loki, the eye finally spoke. It said, "It shall be mine. Mine! Mine! Mine!"

Then it struck the white crystal with full force.

At this point, another thing happened for the first time. The eye was rebuffed and couldn’t enter or fuse with the white crystal sphere. The white crystal seemed impenetrable to it.

Upon seeing this, the eye said, "Then let’s fight for it."

As it spoke, it accumulated all of its power. It pulled all of its power from the external world into Loki. So the entire mass of the eye in the sky of the Sea of Worlds fell into Loki’s body and entered his Divine Spark.

With the eye finally in one place, it began to change. Its form changed into a giant humanoid form.

The giant was as black as night. It lacked lips, nose, ears, hair, and other features. But it possessed one single shining eye on its face. Since it had two heads, that meant it had two faces and two eyes.

The giant black cyclops also possessed four arms and a long spiked tail. In the darkness that formed its body, specs of white and blue fragments of twinkling stars appeared.

As it was changing, it was saying, "I’ve finally found it. How long has it been? I’ve been searching for billions of years now, but I’ve finally found it."

It was excited as it said, "I said I would find it and I did. Now it will not get away from me again."

Finally, it said to Loki, "Insignificant ant, will you give up the spark of power peacefully, or do you intend to do something as foolish as wasting my time fighting for it?"

Loki replied without hesitation, "I’m fighting. If I must die, then I will go down fighting."

"Ignorant ant," it said in displeasure. "You don’t know what you’re up against. You live in this three-dimensional world thinking it is all that there is. You’re so blind and ignorant."

"You haven’t even mastered the power of a three-dimensional existence. To resist me is to resist the inevitable."

Loki heard all of these, but his will didn’t waver at all. He still said, "I will fight."

The cyclops was frustrated as it said, "Who could have imagined that something as precious as the spark of power would fall into the hands of an ant? It is like pearls falling into the hands of a dirty pig."

The cyclops didn’t actually say that. It said something insulting in a language that Loki couldn’t understand. But they were communicating at the soul level, so Loki was able to infer meaning from his incomprehensible language.

So when he heard the cyclops say that pearls had fallen into the hands of a dirty pig, it was the closest approximation of his understanding of what the cyclops was saying, not exactly what the cyclops said.

During the translation, a lot of meaning was lost to him. Even so, this was insulting enough.

However, Loki didn’t feel humiliated or angry when he heard the insult. This was partly because he was sure that the cyclops was right about what it said and mostly because the cyclops had the right to insult him.

To him, it didn’t matter if what the cyclops said about him was true. What mattered was that the cyclops was stronger than him, so it had the right to call him whatever it wanted.

At this point, he had begun to understand who the cyclops might be. In the memory of the time the spark of power was looking for a host, there was an entity that was constantly pursuing the spark of power through the universe from world to world.

That entity had promised to find him after they lost sight of the spark of power. Now that the cyclops had found him, he didn’t think he had the right to feel insulted because he was called an ant.

To be insulted by something like this is akin to a baby feeling insulted for being called a baby. It would be unreasonable on his part to be insulted.
