Chapter 1083: No One Left Behind.

While frowning, Black Chains was also considering all of his options. After thinking for a while, he took out a round shield from his inner world and stood on it.

The round shield was thick and silver. It looked like a silver coin, but it was as large as a mountain.

He placed the round shield underneath him and activated the Artifact Enhancement Ability of the Forging Pathway. When this Divine Ability was activated, the thick round shield was enhanced by the vast power of his spirit. The power of the enhancement was also directed at increasing speed.

In his vision, the information of the shield changed from a piece of material into a tool suitable for his needs. With the Forging Pathway, he was able to see the full information of the shield.

When he saw the reducing durability, he said to himself, "It will be worth it. It will all be worth it once I catch him."

This artifact was made from part of his body mixed with celestial gold. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a complete Celestial Artifact because it lacked a Supreme Metac to serve as its core.

In its natural state, this incomplete artifact can’t increase his speed at all. In fact, all it will do is be a burden to him that he has to carry along, slowing him down. Its current enhancement is all thanks to his Divine Ability as a Dao Lord of the Forging Pathway.

If he could get the Speed Supreme Metac and use it to complete the artifact, he wouldn’t need to spend lifespan to use the artifact, eliminating the cost of Entropy.

Plus, when the artifact is complete, there won’t be any stress from using an incomplete artifact, which would otherwise reduce its durability so quickly.

When he thought of these things, his anger seemed to increase. His eyes became cold, and he said, "Since you don’t want to talk, I will pry your lips open myself."

As he spoke, he activated the Mind Hijack Ability of the Mind Hunter Pathway. Because his Mind Hunter Pathway was the weakest of his Pathways, the power of this attack was only 7.8 × 10^10. It was a thousand times weaker than the attack he used earlier.

The Mind Hijack Divine Ability went straight for the mind within the Devouring Supreme Metac. It sought to take control of it, thereby gaining access to all of Loki’s memories and taking control of his body.

Up ahead, as soon as Loki felt the incoming attack, he decided to make a difficult decision. He had determined that he couldn’t escape from Black Chain, so he stopped running and put the 272 units of divinity into his Divine Spirit and activated the Devouring Ability.

He figured out that offense was the best defense, so he turned on the offense to 100%. Unfortunately, the Suppression Divine Ability from earlier was still working on him, weakening the Devouring Supreme Metac.

Normally, his power output should have been Rank(10) × Divine Spirit(2 + 272) × Divine Ability(9^3 × 1%) × Domain(25,387 km) × 10(Authority), which is 5.07 × 10^9 units of celestial power. But the 90% debuff affected both his divinity and the Devouring Ability, reducing it to 5.03 × 10^ 8.

It was a reduction in power by a hundred times, so when the black force field around him came into contact with the Mind Hijack Ability, it failed to devour it. The Mind Hijack Ability was able to break through his defense and enter his body.

When Loki sensed the failure of his move, he immediately activated the Rewind Metac. After seeing so much, he didn’t want to fight anymore, so he gave up on the fight.

The Rewind Metac was able to activate just before the Mind Hijack Ability could take control of the Devouring Supreme Metac. The Rewind Metac took the Devouring Supreme Metac into the River of Time, leaving him stranded at the scene.

"What the fuck just happened?" he asked in shock.

This wasn’t what he was used to at all. The Rewind Metac usually took his Divine Spark with it, but this time, it took the Devouring Supreme Metac, leaving him alone to face Black Chain.

As if it wasn’t bad enough that he failed to escape, the loss of the Devouring Supreme Metac removed the 27 units of divinity that he had gained from it and also made him lose all of the Divine Abilities from the Devouring Pathway.

While he was trying to wrap his head around what had gone wrong, Black Chain caught up to him. But instead of smiling and laughing, Black Chain was frowning just like him.

"What did you just do?" Black Chain asked him. "Where is your Supreme Metac?"

A black armored figure also appeared beside Loki, saying, "I also want to know how you can remain a Dao Lord without any Supreme Metac. What are you hiding?"

On one side was a giant spider-monkey waiting to kill him. On the other side was the guardian wanting to know why he hadn’t fallen to the Sea of Worlds or wasn’t dead even though he didn’t have a Supreme Metac anymore.

Seeing this, Loki thought to himself, ’It seems I’m screwed.’

Outwardly, he said, "I don’t know what’s going on. I am as surprised as you are."

The confusion was evident in his demeanor and his voice as he said, "I too want to know what’s going on. Do you have any ideas?"

"I am not buying it," the armored knight said sternly.
