Chapter 1089: What is a four-dimensional existence?

Even though he had been docile so far, the guardian still warned him, saying, "This egg is worth a super world in your Sea of Worlds. That’s just the minimum value. So don’t damage the egg, or you will pay a terrible price."

That last sentence was spoken in a warning tone. Clearly, even though the guardian was being carefree with him, some things were still taboo.

Loki nodded and said, "I understand. I’ll treat it with care."

Inwardly, he thought, ’I didn’t need that warning to know not to destroy it. There is no way I’ll try to damage something that guardian offered me.’

As he was thinking, he stretched his hand and placed it on the egg. The guardian watched him do this with an amused expression on their face, waiting to see his response when the egg started draining him of his essence and divinity.

As soon as Loki’s hand touched the black egg, it grew a root that pierced into the palm of his hand. The root worked its way into his arm, up to his shoulder, and into his inner world. From there, the root split into ten parts that ensnared his godheads, draining them.

’Oh no.’ Loki thought in fear as he felt the threat of death. ’I thought they said they wouldn’t kill me.’

Shaking their head, the guardian said, "You’re one interesting character. You didn’t ask any questions and didn’t hesitate to do what you were told. I’m impressed."

"Tell you what, I’ll reward you for your obedience. If you have a question you need answers to, feel free to ask me."

Upon hearing this, Loki was briefly distracted from the intense pain in the depth of his heart. He was able to think about other things aside from how he was dying.

’I have so many things I want to know. What should I ask for?’

’Should I ask about how to gain more divinity, rise in rank, fuse more pathways with my godheads, pay off Entropy, and raise my conversion efficiency?’

Many possible questions went through his mind, and he was unable to pick one. When the guardian saw his dilemma, he said, "Those are ordinary things."

"They are common knowledge that you can learn from your fellow Dao Lords. You will also gain more opportunities to know that kind of information when I unseal the Sea of Worlds. So what you should ask me is information that you can’t learn easily."

"Hmm," Loki said in understanding.

He continued to think some more about what fit the bill of rare information that he was unlikely to learn from anyone else.

Eventually, he said, "What is a four-dimensional existence?"

"Hahaha," came the reply.

As the guardian laughed, they said, "What a greedy fellow."

"I don’t know the answer to that question. Besides, it is far beyond your current level and won’t be useful to you even if I had the answer. So you should ask another question."

"I see," Loki said in acceptance. "You’re right. I was being greedy."

"Why did you ask anyway?" the guardian asked carelessly.

They appeared not to care about the answer to the question, but they were inspecting Loki’s existence again and watching his mind like a hawk as they waited for his reply.

Since the guardian didn’t take the question seriously, Loki didn’t think much about it before saying, "The progression of Metacs has been from one-dimensional to two-dimensional and to three-dimensional. So I guessed that the next stage will be four-dimensional."

Upon seeing nothing amiss, the guardian relaxed their vigilance and said, "Well, you’re right to suspect that. But the power of the fourth dimension is so far off."

"Right now, you’re just starting off mastering the power of three-dimensional Metacs. Your Metacs are still restrained and can only have a fixed size."

"Cosmic Dao has to have a dimension of 9,9,9(x,y,z). Grand Dao has to be 7,7,7. And so on and so forth. Until you break this limit, you have no use thinking about fourth-dimensional Metacs."

"Huh? Is it possible to create a limitless three-dimensional Metac?" Loki asked in surprise.

This emotion of surprise that he was feeling was the first genuine emotion he had felt since the beginning of this conversation. It was so raw that the guardian was able to notice a difference in the quality of his emotions.

"It seems I have triggered something important to you. I wonder why," the guardian asked nonchalantly.

Loki immediately coughed to cover up his embarrassment. Then he explained, saying, "My dream to create a limitless Dao through the Devouring Supreme Metac was the foundation I used to construct it."

"So that’s how you managed to impress the grand will of the universe. That’s impressive," the guardian said with genuine admiration.

"Anyway, it is indeed possible to create a limitless Supreme Metac. As for a limitless Dao, that’s different. The distinction between Cosmic Dao and the rest is set in stone as far as I know."

Loki didn’t think so, and he didn’t hesitate to say, "I wouldn’t say it is impossible. After all, some people once told me that it was impossible to create a limitless Supreme Metac. Yet, here you are telling me that it is in fact possible to create a limitless Supreme Metac."

"And someone great and powerful once told me that when I can’t do something, the reason is most likely that I am not strong enough, not that it is impossible to do. So it might also be possible to create a limitless Dao."

His words immediately elicited another bout of laughter from the guardian.

"Hahaha. Touché. You have me there."

"I’ve decided. Can you tell me how to create a limitless Supreme Metac?" Loki asked.

But the guardian shook their head and said, "That’s still far away from you. Ask me for something else."

So Loki racked his brain for something else. After a while, he said, "How do I become the Domain King?"
