Chapter 1095: The Bait And Switch.

"This is not my fault. It is all his fault," the black monkey said as it pointed at Loki.

The white monkey beside it also said, "I came with good intentions, but this riffraff is taking advantage of the situation to extort us."

"Are you also not extorting us?" Tepid Scholar shot back in anger. "Are you not forcing us not to interfere when you try to take down the Will of the world? Or is it that only you can do it and no one else can extort us?"

In response, the black monkey patted its chest and said, "You’re right. Only I can do it."

"No one else can use the situation I engineered to take advantage of me. Only I can have my way, and no one else can," another monkey said with pride and supreme confidence.

Trying to be the reasonable one, Tepid Scholar said, "He hasn’t even asked for too much. He is only asking for information on how to advance."

"This information was given to us for free by the guardian, and it will cost us nothing to give it to him. Why don’t we wait for him to make the rest of his demands before we decide that he is being unreasonable."

"No," the black monkey said with a shake of his head. "I have decided that he is unreasonable, and that is that."

When Sword Maestro heard this, he sighed and said, "This should have something to do with the fact that the size of the new Domain is 8.1 billion square kilometers with one pathway. If a single pathway can support a domain of that size, then the pathway must be a Cosmic Dao."

"I guess Black Chain is coveting the Cosmic Dao and doesn’t want the new guy to become stronger. Therefore, nothing you say will convince him."

While everyone was either blaming Loki or trying to convince Black Chain, Heavenly Eye decided to try something different.

She said to Black Chain, "I think you’re right. You have all the power in your hands, so you get to ask anything from us no matter how unreasonable it is.c

"If you want us not to tell him how to advance, then so be it. I am willing to swear that I won’t tell him how to advance."

"Finally," Black Chain said in satisfaction. "Finally, someone with some sense."

He turned around and said to everyone with a sneer, "This is how I want you to behave. If you act like you know your place, we won’t have any problems."

But Heavenly Eye smirked and said, "I just have to tell you that I already told him how to advance. I am sure it won’t contradict my oath when I swear never to tell him again, so it shouldn’t be a problem, right?"

Upon hearing this, the black monkey’s face became deformed with rage as it asked, "What did you do?"

Heavenly Eye continued to smirk as she said, "You heard me."

Clearly, she was having fun with this.

"You’re lying," Black Chain declared stubbornly.

"Oh! Why would I lie about this?" she asked in return. "Tell me. What would I gain from lying?"

"Of course, it is to get me to back off my demand," the black monkey replied with seething anger.

"Or, hear me out, I could also tell him the information he asked for. If I’ve already met the first request, wouldn’t it be a shame not to listen to his other requests?"

In response, the black monkey ignored her question and turned to Loki, asking, "What are the things you need to advance?"

Before Loki could reply, Heavenly Eye said, "Celestial gold and divine crystals."

"You fucking bitch," Black Chain roared in anger. "I knew you were lying. You didn’t tell him anything."

She also shot back with scorn, saying sarcastically, "I hope you’re happy now. You caught me in my lie."

While the two were about to bite each other’s heads off, Martial Will said to Loki, "Specifically, you need some divine crystals for the Supreme Metac, and celestial gold to reinforce the first Supreme Metac, preventing it from tearing the new Supreme Metac apart from within your body."

Then the Dao Lord of the Martial Body Sect said smugly to Black Chain, "Now that the secret of advancement has been exposed, can we move on with his demands?"

Black Chain glared at him in response, too angry to reply. So Tepid Scholar had to speak on his behalf to Loki, "Continue with your demands. And for your sake, I hope you never meet him in the third heavens."

Loki nodded in response. But instead of moving on to his next request, he said, "I don’t think my first request has been sufficiently met."

"What more do you want?" Martial Will asked in irritation.

In response, Loki glanced briefly at Heavenly Eye as he said, "I want someone to swear that what you just said is correct and all that I need to advance."

Sword Way shook his head and said, "You’re being too paranoid. Didn’t you see that Black Chain was very angry when they told you? Clearly, what they told you was the truth."

The more they were like this, the more suspicious Loki was. So he remained stubborn as he said, "I don’t have any reason to trust any of you. If you don’t swear a Dao Heart oath, this transaction of ours won’t move forward."

As soon as he said this, the scene fell into silence. Everyone was staring at him with a chilling gaze, as if he had mentioned some taboo.

Then someone burst out laughing. It was Heavenly Eye who was laughing.

As she laughed, she said, "You got me. You actually got me."

Martial Will chuckled and said, "You were able to catch us in this lie. I’m impressed."

"You’re cautious enough," Tepid Scholar said with a nod of satisfaction. "With this level of caution, it seems you will go far on the path of cultivation."
