Chapter 1147: The Oath To Protect.
Chapter 1147: The Oath To Protect.
While the two were exchanging the goods, Harem King was making a fuss beside them. The Dao Lord of the Joyful World Sect was saying, "So that’s where my lost Supreme Metac was."
"Didn’t you swear to protect me? Are you not afraid of the backlash of the universe for breaking your oath?" Harem King asked in anger.
Heavenly Eye replied, saying with pride, "I swore to save your life. I didn’t swear to keep all of your Supreme Metacs safe, so I don’t have anything to fear."
This prompted Harem to turn the other Dao Lords to complain, saying, "You said you would have my back. I helped you bring down Golden Sun, and is this how you repay me?"
"We are not the ones at fault here," Martial Will said with a gruff voice. "We are not the ones who found and killed your remnants only to sell the Supreme Metacs gained from the remnants. Heavenly Eye did that. So go to her to complain, not us."
"What! You knew she did that and you didn’t tell me?" Harem King said hysterically.
"I didn’t think it was relevant information. I especially didn’t consider it relevant to me. Besides, I was waiting for a moment to use the information to my advantage. But it seems it is too late to do that now," Martial Will explained nonchalantly.
This made Harem King point at him and Heavenly Eye, saying, "Fuck you. Fuck all of you."
The Dao Lords went back and forth like that, arguing about who was at fault and who wasn’t to blame for Harem King’s loss of power. It was messy business that Loki found entertaining and enjoyed watching.
But then Harem King tried to drag him into it when she said, "You thief. You should return those stolen Supreme Metacs to me."
He thought she had lost her mind to make such a request to him, but he didn’t say so. Not only did he not speak, but he also acted as if he were deaf and blind, unable to hear or see her.
Loki ignored her completely while watching what was going on in the Blessed Heaven World. Because of the upheaval caused by the loss of the nine beast pathways, the unicorn had to pause what it was about to do.
It took a few hours before the Blessed Heaven World stopped shaking, and while the world was still changing because of the absence of those nine law fragments, the inhabitants of the world relaxed within a day.
After a day of adapting to the natural disasters, unnatural weather, and the sudden strange change in the taste of everything, the giant barbarians went on with their lives, no longer panicking like they were a day ago. This allowed the unicorn to approach them without scaring them away.
The unicorn couldn’t speak their language, so it used mental waves to communicate with them. Unfortunately, they were all mortals ranging from rank 3 to non-cultivators, so they didn’t have a Mind Palace and couldn’t project their minds.
This disparity in their circumstances made it very difficult for the two sides to communicate. But the problem didn’t last long.
In just a few minutes, the unicorn was able to learn their language. And in a few hours of speaking with them, it was able to master their language.
Now that the barrier to communication had been lifted, the unicorn was able to state its purpose for coming. It said, "I am Kaltrax, an Envoy of the Apex Sect. I have come to you with good news."
But before she could continue, one of the people she was speaking to, an elder of the tribe, said, "If you’re here to convince us about joining your sect, please don’t bother. We already have a sect we prefer."
Another elder, who was a woman, added, saying, "In fact, please leave. We don’t want to be caught with a heretic and labeled blasphemers of the Martial Body Sect. So please leave our tribe."
The unicorn was currently speaking with the leaders of the tribe. They were in a tent made up of stitched animal hide.
In total, there were seven elders in the tent, including the tribal chief. Of the seven elders, two were women. The remaining five were men. The tribal chief was also a man.
These barbarians didn’t know that the person they were chatting with was a divine being. In fact, they didn’t know that she was a unicorn. What they saw in front of them was a barbarian giant that looked exactly like them.
It was because she looked like them that they allowed her to enter their tribe. Plus, she brought gifts, so she was treated as a guest.
Unfortunately, she had to open her mouth to say something blasphemous. So now they were sending her away. All of them stood up and held their weapons or took up a stance to fight her if she didn’t leave.
Despite the disrespect, she smiled and said, "What if I told you that I have a cultivation method that can help you increase your lifespan, not just your strength?"
Everyone became intrigued when they heard what she said. Even the Dao Lords who were listening from above were also curious.
For a moment, the seven elders forgot about sending away the blasphemer. The oldest among them, who was also close to the limit of her lifespan, said, "Is what you say true?"
She was the one who suggested sending away the unicorn earlier. But now she was asking for proof of this blasphemous claim for some reason.
Like a predator stalking prey, the unicorn smiled and said, "Of course, it is true. I myself am over a thousand years old despite being only rank 2."
"I know that you find it difficult to believe. But my claim is something we can test right now."
Every elder was excited and full of anticipation when they heard this method. Only the tribe chief was a bit skeptical about this.
