Chapter 1183: They Must Be Cheating.

Black Chain didn’t think that Ragnarok was foolish, though. As someone who had lost terribly when he thought Ragnarok was foolish and underestimated him, he was inclined not to believe that Ragnarok didn’t see the problem with his actions.

In a bid to find a reasonable explanation for Ragnarok’s actions, he said, "Maybe the amount of Entropy would be less since it is the mortals doing the devouring. After all, they are weaker, so maybe he is using that as a loophole to make the exchange profitable?"

But the Nature God snorted and said, "That could work if the mortals were the ones actually producing the power they use to devour. But the power comes from him, so he has to bear the cost of the Entropy."

"Besides, the efficiency of power production also affects the backlash magnitude of Entropy. Therefore, a Dao Lord who uses lifespan for power will have the highest efficiency compared to mortals, so it is actually better for him to become the source of power for them."

"Isn’t the Devouring Ability the Main Divine Ability of his Supreme Metac? I reckon that if he had allowed the mortals to use the Devouring Ability directly, they would tear themselves apart from the inside out."

"You make a lot of sense," Black Chain said reluctantly. "But I don’t think he is that foolish. Surely, there should be something we have missed."

"Maybe you’re right, but I think it is unlikely. I know many other Celestials with the Devouring Pathway, and I know that they don’t use the Devouring Ability to gain lifespan."

"They use the Devouring Ability mainly to attack their enemies. This is because even with a 100% conversion rate and efficiency, they can only produce 1 year of lifespan for 1 unit of lifespan."

The moose clicked his tongue as he said, "I’m sure you know how difficult it is to produce power at a 100% efficiency. That’s the realm of ten-star celestials, and they are all Mountain Lords."

"Yet, the best those ten-star celestials can manage is to gain lifespan through the Devouring Ability and use that same lifespan to offload the Entropy they gained in the process of the devouring."

"That’s the limit of the efficiency of the Devouring Ability. So unless Ragnarok has advanced beyond the level of a Dao Lord completely, then the Entropy gained from using the Devouring Ability to gain lifespan will make the entire endeavor a waste of time."

"And since he isn’t a ten-star celestial, he will definitely be taking a loss with all of this. He will be producing more Entropy with the Devouring Ability than the lifespan he gains. This is why I am so sure that he will collapse soon."

The Nature God’s voice was full of mockery as he said, "He probably thinks we’re ignorant and don’t know how the Devouring Ability works, so we will be intimidated and give up on competing with him for disciples."

"I’m telling you now that he has a surprise in store for him," he finished with a sneer.

Black Chain, as the one who was trying to avoid risking his avatar in some invasion, was still unwilling to give up in his attempt to convince this giant moose about the importance of paying attention to the competition between sects for mortals.

He said, "Isn’t his Devouring Supreme Metac special, though? It should be a Grand Dao, but it is a Cosmic Dao. So maybe he has found a way to circumvent the normal rules."

The moose was already getting tired of this conversation and was about to shut it down permanently. But when he heard what Black Chain came up with this time, he paused to think.

As he was thinking, he said, "That’s true."

"I still don’t think he found a way to circumvent the universal rule of Entropy. That’s just crazy."

"But I believe that I might be missing something because he came up with a way to turn a Grand Dao into a Cosmic Dao. That’s something less than a hundred people have managed to do in the history of the universe, so he can’t be stupid."

"And the Cosmic Dao he came up with can use Metacs of various pathways. He can even copy one of our racial abilities. That makes him extra special. At the least, he can’t be ignorant of the workings of Entropy."

"But if he isn’t ignorant and he knows what he is doing, the only way I can see this plan of his working is if he is cheating the mortals somehow by making them bear the Entropy for him."

At this point, the Nature God’s eyes lit up with an idea as he said, "But if that is true and the mortals are taking on more Entropy with every use of the Devouring Supreme Metac, it would invalidate the lifespan they gain from devouring because they will die anyway when they reach their limit of Entropy."

It even slammed its front hooves together and said, "That’s it."

"I know how to make both the Apex God and Olympic Sect fall flat on their face. What I should do is get a life value meter that can check the lifespan and Entropy of mortals and spread it throughout the worlds with the two sects."

"So far, mortals can’t check how much lifespan they really have or how much Entropy they’ve incurred. But if they can check these things, they will be able to catch the Apex God and Ragnarok in their lies."

"Right. That’s what I should do," the moose said excitedly.

Then it said to Black Chain, "I will get the life value meter. Your job is to distribute it through the super worlds. Also, tell every member of your sect to spread the word around that the Apex God and the Olympic Court are lying to them."

Black Chain was happy to do something other than invading worlds with his avatars, but he was a little bit curious, so he asked, "What if they are not lying?"
