THE GOD EATER

Chapter 1187: It Is All Fake.

Chapter 1187: It Is All Fake.

His voice was full of righteous indignation as he said, "The most I took was 50%. In many cases, I took as little as 30%. How did it become taking up to 90%?"

"There is something wrong with those Life Value Meters. If I will be blamed for something, it should be for something I did."

"Besides, I only borrowed the lifespan. I would have returned it later," he said self-righteously.

It was true that he had stolen lifespan from his disciples, but it wasn’t as bad as the Life Value Meters made his theft out to be. So he was, at best, an opportunistic thief; he wasn’t the evil villain they made him out to be.

He had expected the Life Value Meters to expose his crimes, but it was just too much.

He said with determination, "I can’t let this stand. I must fight fire with fire."

"Since they can get the Life Value Meters, I can get them too. And since they can tamper with the Life Value Meters, I can tamper with them too. Let’s see who can lie the hardest."

He thought he was angry, but the most aggrieved person in this situation was Loki. Like his disciples, he was shocked by the result and had to do a double take many times.

"What the fuck is this?" he asked in disbelief. "Is this some kind of joke?"

"I knew something fishy was going on. But I didn’t think it would be this bad," Martial Will said in growing realization.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Loki asked in anger. "It is a lie."

"That fellow with 170 white rings should have had 313 rings. The reddish black rings are also 50% more than they should be. This Life Value Meter is a scam. It is all fake."

"Sure. If you say so," Heavenly Eye said sarcastically.

Loki’s inner face darkened when he heard this. His external face stayed calm and collected, but inwardly, he gritted his teeth in frustration.

This second round of frustration stemmed from the fact that Heavenly Eye should know more than anyone else that he was being defamed here. But she was behaving like he was the liar and cheater who ripped off his disciples.

"Hmmp. I can’t expect anything good out of you," he said to her. "If I want to get something done, I will have to do it myself."

As he spoke, he took action. He sent down a phantom arm from the divine constellation.

The phantom arm was colossal, made of raw power, and capable of destroying nearly anything in the lower realm. Wherever the arm went, the world was torn apart and disintegrated into law fragments.

This phantom arm is just a manifestation of his power. It isn’t his full power, but anyone without a Supreme Metac couldn’t resist it. Now that the phantom arm was pressing down towards a gray pillar, it was clear what their purpose was.

Something was clearly wrong with the Life Value Meters, and he didn’t want them to continue destroying the reputation he had painstakingly built, so he decided to destroy them.

He wanted to destroy them all at once, so he created many phantom arms to strike all the gray pillars at the same time. But just as the phantom arms appeared, another kind of phantom arm appeared between heaven and earth to block Loki’s phantom arms.

The power of the phantom arms was based on the power of the divine constellation, not the power of the Dao Lords, and was fairly the same, so they were able to cancel each other out when they clashed.

Then a grand voice sounded between heaven and earth, saying, "Stop trying to destroy the evidence of your crime, Lord Ragnarok. It is shameful what you did to the poor disciples of the Olympic Sect, but they deserve to know the truth."

It was Black Chain who spoke. If Loki had any doubt before, now that this had happened, everything had become clear to him.

He turned to Black Chain in the divine constellation and said, "Are you so sure that it is a good idea to cross me?"

But Black Chain ignored him and refused to answer.

The avatar of the Dao Lord of the Four Directions Sect had his eyes and senses closed to the world. He was like a monkey Buddha, detached from worldly desires and entanglement. Nothing Loki could say could move him.

"It turns out I was wrong," Tepid Scholar said with a chuckle.

"The delay was the time it took to tamper with the Life Meters. He wasn’t waiting because he was ashamed."

His words seemed to get through to the white sagely monkey as it snorted and said, "You’re wrong again."

"I had already done the modification before sending them down to the lower realm. The delay was caused by the need to wait for Ragnarok’s avatar to be as far from the super worlds as possible."

’Damn it,’ Loki thought in anger.

The truth was that he had made his avatar, who was busy pushing worlds through the Sea of Worlds, to drop the world and race over to the nearest super world to destroy the Life Value Meters.

He had to do that because the power he could create through the divine constellation was clearly inadequate to destroy the gray stakes and put an end to this farce. If he wanted to overpower Black Chain, he would have to send an avatar.

Unfortunately, he was a one-star celestial and could only have one avatar. So he couldn’t create another avatar when the previous one was busy somewhere else in the lower realm.

For unknown reasons, his anger seemed to be rising every moment. He didn’t let it show on his face, though.

On the surface, he smiled and said, "Nicely played."

"It seems I have underestimated how far you’re willing to stoop to get what you wanted. I should have known that this wasn’t going to end well when you were spreading rumors that I was cheating my disciples."
