Chapter 1202: Many Hands.
Chapter 1202: Many Hands.
The Dao Lords hadn’t cared when he called them farmers and butchers because it was the truth and, most importantly, because there was nothing the Rank 8 cultivators could do about it.
At first, they had thought that Loki’s goal was to sow dissent in their sect and undermine them from within. If it were so, they would have felt only disdain for him. But now that he was claiming to change their fate for them, they had no choice but to consider him a threat to the stability of their sect.
The Dao Lords grew anxious and wanted to stop the meeting. Unfortunately, they couldn’t interfere, or that would void their agreement with Loki.
But Martial Will didn’t care. He said, "Let’s end this before something irreparable happens."
"Not yet," Tepid Scholar said sternly. "We don’t even know what he wants to do."
"I have to agree with Martial Will on this," Heavenly Eye added. "This Ragnarok is up to no good. I have a bad feeling about this."
So Tepid Scholar sighed and asked, "What are you afraid of exactly?"
"What is the worst thing that can happen? He can’t recruit them, so no matter what he does, they will still be under our control to do whatever we please."
"I am more interested in seeing what exactly he wants to do. Besides, have you considered that this might all be a charade to make us break our agreement?"
"What if he is bluffing so that he will be free to interfere in the ascension of the Blessed Heaven World?"
That question stumped Martial Will for a while. Martial Will finally said, "I hate schemes too much."
"If this goes badly, I’ll blame you," Heavenly Eye said gloomily.
Watching this, Harem King sighed in relief and said, "I’m so glad that I don’t have divine beings and don’t have to worry about this."
The other Dao Lords ignored her. They had something to lose and didn’t want to waste their mental resources paying attention to her.
Down below, Loki was saying, "What if I tell you that you don’t have to be farm animals and can become farmers if you want?"
His words sent a wave of shock and disbelief through his listeners. One Rank 8 cultivator even thought, ’Is he mad?"
In response to their doubts, he said, "You heard me. I can help you become Rank 9 Dao Initiates and even ascend to the upper realm, becoming Dao Lords capable of establishing your sects."
"I know that it is too good to be true, but it is. I swear on my Dao Heart that I intend to help all of you reach Rank 9 and even Rank 10."
"Now you know that this is not a joke. I am not so jobless that I would call you together to joke around."
His words finally moved the Rank 8 cultivators. They finally saw hope, and their distrust of him slowly transformed into anticipation.
But before any of them could take him up on his offer, a roar of anger came from the sky, saying, "That’s it. I’ve seen enough."
It was Martial Will who roared, and just after shouting, he made his move. He sent down a phantom arm to grab his four Rank 8 disciples and take them away from the meeting.
As the phantom arm slammed down, Tepid Scholar roared, saying, "Nooooo!"
But Martial Will remained stubborn and said, "This farce is over."
Just as the phantom arm was about to reach its target, Loki made his move. Another phantom arm appeared in the sky and smacked the first phantom arm away.
Martial Will didn’t want to give up and created more phantom arms, but Loki retaliated in kind, creating more phantom arms. The two went back and forth, creating phantom arms and fighting each other with them.
For a while, the sky was full of phantom arms hitting each other again and again. It only got worse when Tepid Scholar, Heavenly Eye, and Sword Maestro joined in, creating their own phantom arms to block Loki’s phantom arms and grab their disciples.
But no matter how many phantom arms were created, Loki was always able to block them. Phantom arms only require some energy, so he could create as many of them as he wanted, as long as he had the energy to do so and the capacity for Entropy to withstand the backlash of interfering in the lower realm like this.
As it happened, he had a lot of lifespan and didn’t worry about Entropy. So they couldn’t outmaneuver him with the quantity of the phantom arms.
The power that they could create with the phantom arms was limited too. It didn’t depend on the creator’s cultivation or how many pathways they had. So they didn’t have the advantage in quality either.
This put them at an impasse. The Dao Lords were comfortable letting this impasse continue to wear Loki down, but Loki had bigger plans and didn’t want to waste time on petty fights.
His true body tore a rift through the boundary of the lower and upper realms so that he could appear on the scene. Then his Divine Spirit gushed out of the rift and swept over the 21 Rank 8 cultivators, freezing them in place.
After securing the goods, he smiled and said, "How lively!"
"No one told me that there was a party here. Fortunately, I came just in time to join. I hope I didn’t miss anything good."
No one was in the mood to engage in banter right now, especially Martial Will. In fact, Martial Will was more interested in the opposite. He wanted to fight someone.
Martial Will had never been so angry before, and it showed in his voice as he shouted, "Release them immediately!"
His voice was so loud that it shook the heavens. The world quaked, and the sky rumbled with thunder.
It was a mighty show of power, and it made many people fall to the ground, dead or fainted. Unfortunately, the mighty shout couldn’t move Loki.
