Chapter 1223: Temporal Anomaly.

Tens of thousands of screens floated around him and showed different events, or the same events from different directions. Practically every inch of the Sea of Worlds is under his surveillance.

Most of the time, he used the information he received to update the leaderboard. But his main job was to know when a Gemini youngling is in danger as soon as possible and do something about it, whether by taking action directly or alerting the person who should.

However, sometimes, he sees things that don’t concern the Gemini. Like that time he saw Wandering Thief enter the Blessed Heaven World and steal something without anyone knowing. Actually, Wandering Thief stole two things.

Information from the screens was pouring directly into his mind, so he didn’t have to look at them. In fact, the screens were in his mind, and no one else could see them.

On one screen, a handsome young man with white hair and white eyes, whose figure was occasionally flickering, spoke with two young men. One had golden hair and golden eyes. The other had red hair and red eyes.

The three of them were Rank 9 Dao Initiates. One of them, the white-haired man, was an avatar of a Dao Lord. The other two were in their true bodies, but they were also incomplete Rank 9.

Of the ten Cosmic Daos, these two Geminis possess two. This is impressive, since one person can have only one Cosmic Dao unless they are a Mountain Lord.

They are not Mountain Lords, but thanks to their race, they are both separate individuals that count as one. So they can have two Cosmic Daos despite being one person.

But despite how special they are to have two Cosmic Daos between them, this is just the minimum requirement to become caretakers of the next generation of Gemini. This is, of course, aside from the requirement of powerful cultivation.

"There, I’ve sent it out," the white bull man said with a smile. "That should level the playing field a bit."

Without asking what he did, the black bull man already knew. After all, their minds were connected.

Upon reviewing what his other half did, the black humanoid bull nodded in satisfaction and said, "If he can steal our technology, then it is only fair that we steal his."

Just then, the two of them received a message from their pantheon saying, "The black and white virtual universe has narrowed down the source of the temporal anomaly to your current Domain."

"Someone there is reversing time. Find them and neutralize them if they are a threat."

This didn’t surprise either caretaker. The white one smiled and said, "It seems I was right. Something is indeed off about the Sea of Worlds. I felt it immediately when we entered this place."

"Stop showing off," the black bull man said with a snort. "We have work to do."

Somewhere in the upper realm, a group of Gemini was having a meeting. There were eleven of them, and they met in a large cube.

The cube was empty and was being used as a house. The eleven Gemini were in the cube working on something.

One of the eleven was a humanoid wolf with black fur and a black python for his tail. Another was a young man with black hair and black eyes, his figure flickering once in a while.

A third was a hybrid of a spider and a monkey. His upper half was that of a black monkey with eight black eyes, while his lower body was that of a giant spider.

Among the other eight, there was an eagle, a giant barbarian, a swordsman, etc. They were all black, and they were all working together on a project. The project was a black wolf manifestation and a black ring divine artifact.

The black ring was massive compared to their size. It lay between them, the size of a table.

Since each one of them was as big as a super world that had a surface area of 10 billion square kilometers, the size of the black ring had to be approaching the Blessed Heaven World in size.

The black wolf manifestation was lying within the massive ring. The eleven of them bent down to lift the ring. Then, as the ring shrunk, they lowered it gently onto the wolf’s neck.

Together, they worked to clasp the ring around the black wolf’s neck. When they were done, the Gemini, who was a humanoid wolf, bent down to assess their work.

After a few seconds of examination, he said, "I have good news and bad news."

One of the other ten, the black eagle, immediately groaned and said, "Nooooooo! We did everything right. What’s the problem now?"

Someone else, the spider-monkey, snapped, saying, "Shut up already. Let’s hear what he has to say before you start complaining."

"We did do it perfectly, though. I would be devastated if we have to start again," a third Gemini youngling, the giant barbarian, said while rubbing his forehead because of the mental fatigue.

"Enough talking," Onslaught, the black humanoid wolf, said to them.

He shook his head and said, "What do you have to lose here? Isn’t it some time and energy? Your life isn’t on the line here."

"I have been told that if I don’t kill Ragnarok before he advances to two-celestial, I’m done. You guys are doing this to gain power, but I am doing it for survival."

"So I have a lot more to lose here. Yet, I am not panicking now and then."

"Oh, come on," the black barbarian said with a roll of his eyes. "You’ll only be scrapped if he picks a Cosmic Dao as his second star."

Onslaught shot back angrily, "Are you saying that he won’t be able to get a Cosmic Dao for his second star? Is that the nonsense you’re implying right now?"

Before anyone could reply, he said, "He is a Mountain Lord, so he can have a second Cosmic Dao. The question is how he can get it."
