Chapter 1299: Good News And Bad News.

Her voice was full of confidence as he said, "We have a weapon that you can use to invade the worlds of Gemini. We will supply this weapon to you while you use it to invade worlds and establish your Domain on them. All we ask in exchange is that you let us establish our Domain on those worlds."

"That’s not a bad deal, actually," Loki said, nodding his head as if the deal made sense to him.

The deal did make sense to him. At the very least, he had nothing to lose in the deal. It was basically a win-win offer, but he was still thinking about double-crossing them.

He was wondering how he could get the World Pump from them and use it to siphon world essence from a world, then use that essence to grow the 12 large worlds that had been in the Sea of Worlds before Heavenly Eye’s secret stashes were exposed.

Then, after the large worlds advanced to super worlds, he would monopolize them. So he was thinking about taking all of the loot for himself.

He didn’t say he was planning to double-cross them, though. Instead, he said, "It is a good idea. Let me think about it."

While he was talking, the star shaped like the outline of a giant eye suddenly went dark. It also began to flicker as if it was struggling to shine.

This phenomenon lasted 100 milliseconds before the star recovered. It began shining again as if nothing had happened. Heavenly Eye also behaved as if nothing had happened, still waiting expectantly for his reply.

Loki smiled at her and said, "I need to take care of something really quickly. I’ll get back to you soon."

In the upper realm, a black force field sprang out within Loki. It smashed into the Seal of Death Supreme Metac and began gnawing on it.

The black force field was identical to the one he produced, but this one was attacking him. As the black force field tried to devour the Seal of Death, he lost lifespan and accumulated Entropy very quickly, indicating that the attack was serious.

He quickly shut down the Sea of Death and deactivated the Devouring Divine Ability. Funny enough, the black force field stopped attacking him immediately. Then, a few moments later, it started fading away.

This made Loki frown as he thought, ’This damned protection.’

’Isn’t this cheating? They are already adults, so why are they still being protected?’

His attack had backfired and struck him. It didn’t take him long to figure out why. But once he determined the cause of the anomaly, he grew angry for himself and all the Gemini younglings who have to compete with Heavenly Eagle and the rest who are already adults.

He was no stranger to the protection mechanism that the Gemini Pantheon had employed to ensure the safety of their younglings. After a few timelines of investigation, he learned that anyone who attacked the youngling would be struck by their attack.

He knew about the reflective mechanism and knew that it was supposed to remain in place for a maximum of one year. But he had expected that since Heavenly Eagle, White Chain, Red Sword, and Harem Queen were now adults, they wouldn’t continue to enjoy the protection meant for the younglings.

Now that he had been proven wrong, he seemed to understand White Chain and Heavenly Eagle better. When he thought back to how reckless they had been, they didn’t seem to be reckless anymore.

’No wonder Heavenly Eagle was so confident that there was nothing I could do to her in the short term. And no wonder that White Chain was willing to cripple his strength just to weaken me,’ he thought with growing realization.

’Their source of confidence is their protection. They have something to fall back on for at least one year. So no matter how bad the situation turns out, they will be able to keep their lives and have time to recover.’

Sighing, he shook his head and thought, ’The attempt wasn’t all bad, though.’

’At least I’ve learned that the Seal of Death can be used to attack this way. That’s good news,’ he thought, trying to cheer himself and not think about how the Gemini were bullying him with nepotism.

But as bad as the situation was, his attack was technically a success, and it had opened up a wide range of possible strategies for him.

Technically, the Seal of Death should have infinite range. He knew this from the moment he made the Death Supreme Metac. But the Seal of Death’s attack method wasn’t exactly set in stone.

He knew the Seal of Death could attack anyone as long as it had a direct channel to connect the attack to them. But what that direct channel could be was up to him to explore and determine.

It wasn’t difficult for him to come up with the trap plan since he had once been a victim of that method. This method of using a Core Metac with a connection to her Supreme Metac to attack her was one he came up with in desperation.

He didn’t think his plan of selling faulty Supreme Metacs to his enemies would work again. Plus, he didn’t want to use the same method for fear that it would be used to determine that he produced the attack, not just associated with it.

The bad news was that even though it worked, he couldn’t use this method on the people he wanted to kill most. It grated on him just thinking about it.

’I guess I can still use this one on Martial Body, Carefree Immortal, Immobile Mountain, and Green Fire. So it isn’t a waste.’

’Plus, the fact that Heavenly Eagle and White Chain are still protected means that they can’t attack me even if they have the power.’

’That’s good news, and as pathetic as it is, I’ll take it,’ he thought, scoffing in frustration.
