Chapter 924: Bad Disciple.

Black Chains didn’t say anything in response to the accusation of being a bad master. Instead of defending himself, he said to Sword Maestro, "What do you think about this idiot’s ranting?"

Sword Maestro answered without hesitation, "He is mistaken."

This made Black Chains smile as he said, "Then tell him so. Don’t just watch as your master is slandered. Speak up to defend your master."

Sword Maestro had no choice, so he said angrily to Martial Will, "If you don’t know what you’re talking about, you should keep quiet. No one will think you’re foolish if you don’t talk. In fact, you will come off as someone smart when you don’t open your mouth to spill drivel."

But Martial Will said in disdain, "Your advice doesn’t count for much if you’re being schooled by a junior. Maybe if you weren’t being humiliated so badly, I would take you seriously and mind my business."

"Then again, I need to be beaten before I can allow anyone to tell me what to do. So maybe I wouldn’t listen to you even if some random dragon was making a mockery of the title of Dao Lord through you."

Sword Maestro didn’t want to waste time arguing with Martial Will, so he ignored him and said to Black Chains, "Please don’t mind his words, master. He is just a fool who doesn’t know what he is talking about?"

Black Chain liked Sword Maestro’s attitude, so he smiled and said, "You’re right, my disciple."

Sword Maestro took this opportunity to say, "So will you help me?"

But Black Chain shook his head and said, "Not so fast. It seems you forgot something in the way you just addressed me."

So he said, "So will you help me, master?"

Black Chain replied with a frown, saying, "Why does your face look like that? Why do your eyes look like you’re angry? Is something causing you distress?"

Black Chains asked, saying, "Are you sure? You know you can tell your master anything. Just tell me if there is a problem and I’ll do my best to help."

But Sword Maestro insisted, saying, "Really, I’m fine. There is no problem with me."

Black Chains still didn’t believe him, but he decided to act like a good master and let the matter go. So instead of bringing up the matter of why Sword Maestro looked constipated, he changed the subject.

He said, "It is good that you’re fine. Now, what was it that you asked me for earlier?"

Sword Maestro’s eyes wanted to twitch in anger when he heard that question. But against all odds, he managed to keep his facial expression stoic and say, "I asked for your help, master."

But Black Chains shook his head and said, "There is no need to call yourself a prodigal son. We all make mistakes. As long as you realize what you did wrong, that’s good enough for me."

As he spoke, he paid close attention to Sword Maestro’s face. He wanted to see Sword Maestro’s pain and despair. He also wanted to make Sword Maestro angry.

He isn’t doing all of these and trying to provoke Sword Maestro just because it is pleasurable. It is definitely pleasurable. But he also wanted to delay giving an answer for as long as possible so that Sword Maestro would lose more lifespan.

He hasn’t decided if he will help Sword Maestro or not. But he wants to make sure that if he refuses to help Sword Maestro and instead decides to take advantage of the situation to kill Sword Maestro, the Dao Lord of the Sword Way Sect will be easier to kill.
