THE GOD EATER

Chapter 943: Giving An Inch.

Chapter 943: Giving An Inch.

Heavenly Eye looked Black Chains intensely before saying to Tepid Scholar, "You know what? You may be right. He is indeed close to his limit."

Black Chains didn’t say anything. He just roared to the sky in frustration.

His roar caused the firmament of the Blessed Heaven World to shake and ripple. The vibrations caused the Blessed Heaven World and nearby worlds to sway precariously. These words became floating objects swaying in an actual sea of water.

After roaring and venting his frustration, he said, "Fine. Have it your way. You will get the Forging Pathway. But you must swear to help me fight the dragon and save my death avatar after I give you what you want."

"As for the Luck Pathway, the Killing Pathway, and the Devouring Pathway, we will share them based on contribution to the defeat of the dragon. I think I have been generous enough. So what do you say?"

In reply, Tepid Scholar said, "I’ve changed my mind. You can do whatever you want. As for us, we will try to take the Forging Pathway and elevate our world with or without your permission."

This made Black Chains shout, saying, "Are you mad? Do you want to die so badly?"

Even Martial Will was worried and said worriedly to Tepid Scholar, "Aren’t you taking this too far? He might overturn the table if you push him too far."

But Tepid Scholar chuckled and said, "He is not overturning anything because he can’t do anything anymore. All of his years of overbearing control have come back to bite him."

"He has taken up too much Entropy. The only options for him are to enlarge his existence by acquiring another pathway to raise his limit of Entropy or acquiring a Divine Spark to remove the Entropy he already accumulated."

"If we make him lose the Forging Pathway and the dragon makes him lose the Death Pathway, the limit of his Entropy will fall drastically. It is even likely that it will kill him."

"If he doesn’t die when he loses the two pathways, he won’t have the energy to do anything else other than keeping himself alive. Without being told to do so, he will try his best to help the Blessed Heaven World ascend."

Then he laughed and said, "No one will have to ask him or force him to allow our worlds to ascend. All we have to do to achieve this is not let him get more pathways anymore and instead lose two pathways."

"At that time, it won’t matter if he is pretending to have reached his limit or not. He will definitely be at his limit of Entropy."

He said this out loud, not secretly to Martial Will, so everyone became aware of his plan, including Black Chains. The other Dao Lords nodded their heads in agreement, while Black Chains gnashed his teeth in anger.

But this time Black Chains didn’t roar. Instead, he tried to be calm as he said, "I thought that you were level-headed earlier. It seems I was wrong to think so highly of you."

"This dragon is too much of a threat to be left alive. It seems you don’t see this. In order to show you just how much of a threat he is, I will do something that I didn’t think I could ever do."

As he spoke, he stopped supporting the forging avatar with lifespan. Because of this, the avatar froze. It became a statue.

When Tepid Scholar hit the avatar, its body cracked. Then the avatar shattered into pieces, leaving behind a ball of information and rules in the form of a sphere of pieces of metal entwined in harmony.

As soon as this happened, the star representing the Forging Pathway dimmed and went out in the divine constellation of the Blessed Heaven World. The star also went out in the divine constellations of every world with the Four Directions Sect.

Because the Supreme Metac of the Forging Pathway was gone, all of the smaller stars that orbited it and relied on it for their power began to fall. The smaller stars didn’t go out, but they fell in rank.

Without the Supreme Metac, the Divine Positions now had to support their own existence. Since every Divine Position was faulty and could only maintain a Dao Status of rank 6, every divine being in the Forging Pathway fell to rank 6.

It didn’t matter if they were high and mighty rank 8 divine beings. They all fell to rank 6. The impact of this great fall caused their Cave Heavens to crack and break apart too.

Now that they had fallen in rank, their Cave Heaven had to fit their ranks. So not only was there a loss in Dao Rank, but there was also a loss in the size of the Cave Heaven, which reduced the strength of every divine being in the pathway.

But aside from these obvious changes, there were also far-reaching impacts of the disappearance of the Forging Supreme Metac. The main long-term impact is that no new divine being will appear in the pathway from now on.

The second long-term impact is that the Four Directions Sect won’t be able to produce the Core Metacs needed to create new forging cultivators. From now on, the Forging Pathway will have nothing to do with the Four Directions Sect.

The third impact is that divine beings who die will not be able to reclaim their Divine Positions ever again. When divine beings die, their Divine Positions will fall permanently with them, with no hope of recovery.

All in all, the Forging Pathway will slowly disappear from the Sea of Worlds. Maybe it will get to a point that everyone will forget about the Forging Pathway completely.

Those are future repercussions, though. For now, the fall of the Supreme Metac has little impact on the mortals of the pathway while the divine beings of the pathway are busy dealing with the loss of their Dao Status.
