Chapter 950: A Divine Crystal.

Martial Will’s suspicion was naked and his prejudice of her intentions unmasked. But she had a thick face and even thicker skin, so she wasn’t bothered by the fact that he was on the verge of calling her a lair to her face.

She replied, saying, "Yes, it is so. We worked so well just now. I thought it was a good idea to extend that alliance of cooperation into the future. It is not as if I have anyone to count on right now."

Her words seemed to light a bomb fuse within Martial Will, who erupted in anger, saying, "This bitch! We were trying to form a cooperative alliance with you earlier, but you kept giving us excuses. Now you want to work with some dragon you just met?"

Heavenly Eye also became angry at being questioned and refused to back down. She asked in anger, "Yes. That’s my plan. What of it?"

Seeing that he couldn’t get her to make sense, Martial Will turned to Tepid Scholar, "Are you seeing this?"

Tepid Scholar nodded in reply and said, "I am. As for her motivations, I think it is clear that the dragon must have something she wants. Whether that is a partner for an alliance, a secret motive, or the fact that she has already been working with the dragon and is responsible for the dragon being able to hide until this moment, only time will tell."

This explanation was all Martial Will needed to justify an argument. The flames of anger within him were stoked as he said, "I’m sure her motivations are nefarious. I’m sure she is scheming something. This might have something to do with why she wanted to descend earlier to kill the dragon?"

Tepid Scholar corrected him, saying, "You mean when she claimed to want to kill the dragon. Who knows what she really meant to do?"

Heavenly Eye had had enough. She sighed and said, "What is the problem here? I made a deal with him to help him target our greatest enemy. He did his part of his deal, and I did mine. Is that a sin?"

Martial Will answered her question, "Yes, it is a sin. Especially since you didn’t have to fulfill your part of the deal so soon and especially since you didn’t have to be so helpful. You practically told him everything to watch out for as if he is your illegitimate son. Is that it? Do you have a son we don’t know about?"

Black Chains, who had been listening in the background, chose this moment to snort and say, "A son? I won’t be surprised."

Heavenly Eye ignored him and said to Martial Will, "If I was related to him or had a previous understanding and cooperative alliance, I would have told him the barest minimum just now. Then I would have told him the rest later in secret."

"I wouldn’t have told him so much to make you so suspicious. I’m not that stupid. But if I were as stupid as you believe me to be, I also would have told him about how the qualifications one uses to advance will also determine their potential for assimilating different pathways."

Unfortunately, her explanation still wasn’t enough to mollify Martial Will. He continued to argue with her, trying to know what she was up to with the dragon.

He could gather all this information by examining the burning material in his hands with his external body. What he sensed imbued him with the confidence to turn his Supreme Metac into a star.

However, there was something he wasn’t certain about. When he thought of this uncertainty, he said to himself, ’I should be able to meet the requirements and withstand the power of the star to advance. The only thing that might stop me is this divine crystal.’

’If this divine crystal is faulty, I will fail to ascend. So, is this divine crystal safe? How can I tell if there is nothing wrong with it?’

’Heavenly Eye was pretty generous earlier with her explanation, so maybe this is where the trap she has laid is. If I use her divine crystal, I might die.’

’Even if she didn’t mess with it, what if this much isn’t enough for me? Where can I get more of it?’

After he reached this point in his train of thought, he raised his head to the sky again and said, "Honored Heavenly Eye, where is this divine crystal found and where can I find it?"

Hearing his question, Heavenly Eye muttered inwardly, ’What is with everyone nowadays? They all suspect me of bad intentions as if I am some great villain.’

Martial Will also said to her, "Is that your plan? Please tell me you’ve tampered with the divine crystal? That would be genius."

She ignored Martial Will, but she remained amicable to Loki and said, "Currently, the divine crystal can only be found in the third heavens. Maybe they existed in the Sea of Worlds a long time ago. But none of it exists in the Sea of Worlds anymore."

"As for exactly where you can find the divine crystal, I can’t tell you. I can’t tell you because I don’t know, and because even if I knew, I wouldn’t tell you something so valuable for free.
