THE GOD EATER

Chapter 965 - 1.12 Seconds.

Chapter 965: 1.12 Seconds.

Along the way to his destination, the dragon grasped at him with sharp, clawed hands, trying to grab him. But he was a small and nimble mouse.

He jumped when he needed to do so, and he twisted when the situation called for it. This way, he managed to evade the giant hands trying to grab him. When he got to the dragon’s back, his body changed again into that of a gorilla.

He was now a gorilla with two heads, three tails, four arms, and a pair of tusks on his face. As a gorilla, he was bigger and heavier than a mouse. His position on the dragon’s back helped press his weight down on the dragon.

For good measure, he raised his four arms in the air and slammed them down like four hammers. All four fists struck the dragon’s back and caused an explosion of air.

The blow created a shockwave that was easily dispersed by the power of the Blade of Time. But mixed in with the shockwave was the sound of bones breaking. Both parties could hear this sound even though the shockwave was quickly strangled by the instructions in the external body.

When the gorilla raised its four arms again for another round of hammering, one of its arms was bent in a weird way. Apparently, this was the source of the sound of bones breaking.

The arm didn’t remain bent for long, though. Even as the gorilla raised its four arms, the injured arm was healing. By the time all four arms reached their peak of motion, the arm was completely restored and ready to be broken again.

Unfortunately for the arm, it wasn’t allowed to be broken again because the dragon grabbed one of the gorilla’s other arms and used it to pull the gorilla off of his back. The dragon’s grip was so strong that it crushed the arm in question and twisted it off as it used the arm to pull the dragon.

The dragon succeeded in pulling off the gorilla, though. But before he could capitalize on this, the gorilla changed again. This time, it became an eagle.

So the dragon was now holding on to one of the eagle’s claws. This didn’t stop the eagle from swinging its other claw as blades and slashing them through his eyes.

In response, Loki snarled and snapped his mouth shut down on the claw. He bit the entire claw and snapped it off.

The eagle chirped in fury and turned into a bull. Then the bull rammed into him with its horns.

So much had happened since they smashed into each other, but all of these things happened in a very short amount of time. To the rest of the world, two blurry figures seemed to be dancing and causing the world to fall apart around them.

Each of their dance moves caused an explosion, which resulted in shockwaves in the air and earthquakes in the earth. There was no storm, and there were no lightning strikes, but thunder still shook the world.

The ground beneath them was the one who bore the brunt of their clash, though. Mountains collapsed, the ground cracked and opened up, and volcanoes erupted. It was a scene of an apocalypse.

Wherever the two of them went, everything aged, withered, and died. What’s worse was that their fight left marks containing temporal force in the world. Anyone who passes through the trails of devastation they left behind would be struck by the power of accelerated ageing.

In the sky, Black Chains said to Tepid Scholar, "See? I wasn’t pretending."

Tepid Scholar said, "I half believe you. But that’s only because Martial Will hates you too much to work with you on this scheme."

"However, I’m not sold yet. I still think it is possible that you offered him enough benefits to overcome his dislike for you."

Martial Will said calmly, "I’ve lost."

His face was calm as he said that. He spoke as if he wasn’t speaking about the potential loss of his one and Grand Dao.

They were also watching the fight with him, but the tone of his voice and what he was proclaiming caught the other Dao Lords off guard.

Tepid Scholar asked sceptically, ’Isn’t it a bit early to determine that? The fight just started. It hasn’t even been two seconds."

In response, Martial Will said, "It has been 1.12 seconds. I’ve tried my best in that time, but I see no chance of success. I would only be taking on more debts of Entropy by trying to put off the inevitable."

Heavenly Eye nodded in agreement and said, "He is right. He is bound to lose."

Martial Will had realized his fate and had made peace with it, but Black Chains didn’t want to accept it. The Dao Lord of the Four Directions Sect urged him, saying, "You can’t give up now."

Black Chains was anxious as he said, "You will lose every battle that you don’t fight. To accept defeat is to give up on victory."

When Tepid Scholar heard this, he snorted and said, "You just want him to hold down the dragon for you and exhaust him so that you can help your avatars to escape."

Black Chains didn’t deny this claim. He said indignantly, "So what? It doesn’t mean that I was not sincere with my encouragement. Everything worth having is worth fighting for."

Then he said to Martial Will, "I believe that if we work together, we can defeat him."

But Martial Will shook his head and said, "This is not a battle that I didn’t fight. I fought, and I lost. He is stronger than me. I have to accept that and move on. The sooner I do so, the better."

As he spoke, he didn’t hesitate to cut off support for his avatar.

The supply of lifespan that ran down from the true body to the avatar stopped flowing and the Entropy that the avatar incurred also stopped flowing back into the true body and began to accumulate in the avatar.
