Chapter 980: Create A Replacement.

Golden Sun explained his point, saying, "One of his disciples came up with an idea to control money and use money to control people. The other came up with an idea to control the life and death of people."

"If the one who came up with the Death Pathway was still alive, I wouldn’t be surprised if the second pathway of that disciple was the Life Pathway, another Cosmic Dao. That disciple was really talented."

"The point I am trying to make is that our life experiences and our goal have an impact on what Supreme Metac we can create. The Supreme Metac is related to our identity, so unless we can have multiple identities and personalities, we will forever be limited in how many Supreme Metacs we can create, regardless of how many resources we have to create Supreme Metacs."

Nodding his head, Loki said in understanding, "That makes sense. But there is still something I don’t understand."

Golden Sun immediately groaned and said, "What is it now? Why do you have so many questions? How did you become a Dao Initiate with this level of ignorance?"

Seeing this, Loki mused to himself, ’It seems he isn’t as unaffected by his dwindling will as he looks.’

Outwardly, he said, "I heard that the Forging Pathway was taken from Lord Tepid Scholar. He was the original creator of the Forging Supreme Metac, so why didn’t he create a replacement for his lost pathway? It has been so long, but the Forging Pathway hasn’t reappeared in the Myriad Phenomenon Sect."

A voice came from the sky, saying, "Can I take this one?"

With a relieved sigh, Golden Sun said, "Please do."

So Tepid Scholar said, "A Supreme Metac is not an artwork. It is the soul of the artist. Just as Golden Sun said, a Supreme Metac is the distillation of the artist’s life experiences and the manifestation of their artistic conception and talent."

"A Supreme Metac is so marvelous that even if the Dao Lord dies, the Supreme Metac can be used to revive them. What is revived will definitely not be the original person, as it will be a portion of that person reborn with some of their memories, but this revived version will be good enough to continue the will of the original Dao Lord."

"These are all the benefits of the integration and union of a Dao Lord and their Supreme Metac. The price to pay is that if they lose their Supreme Metac, the Dao Lords will be cut off from that pathway.c

"I don’t dare say that they will be cut off forever, but having lost their talent, affinity, and inspiration for that pathway, it is nearly impossible to recreate the Supreme Metac. It is a truly painful loss to lose one’s Supreme Metac."

Sighing, Tepid Scholar said, "To lose a Supreme Metac is to lose a part of one’s existence. It is akin to a mortal losing their limbs."

"They will suffer physical pain and psychological trauma over the loss for many years. It is why a Dao Lord who loses their Supreme Metac is willing to do nearly anything to recover the Supreme Metac."

As if empathizing, Loki said, "That’s such a shame."

The voice from the sky said, "Indeed, it is."

Then Loki ignored the sky and pivoted to Golden Sun, saying, "I have more questions.c

"Oh no," Golden Sun said.

But Loki ignored his complaints and asked, saying, "How are Supreme Metacs created? And how exactly do the qualifications for becoming a Dao Lord affect the potential of a Dao Lord to accommodate many pathways?"

He asked the first question because he wanted to make sure that he didn’t miss anything in the way he knew how to make Supreme Metacs. As for the second question, it had become a must to ask ever since he learned that it would determine the potential of a Dao Lord.

Unfortunately for Golden Sun, this was not to be the end of the questions that Loki wanted to ask him. As soon as he finished answering these two questions, Loki asked him more questions.

Loki asked him what the third Heaven looked like and how he could go about looking for divine crystals if he ever went visiting. Then he asked him more questions after that.

He basically asked about anything he could think of, such as why Black Chains wanted to enslave the Blessed Heaven World before letting it ascend into the third heaven. He didn’t want to waste any of the ten minutes he acquired in their deal, which was really a bad thing for Golden Sun.

All in all, Loki was enjoying their deal. Meanwhile, Golden Sun kept shrinking and dimming like a waning candle because of their deal. But as bad as Golden Sun’s situation was, it wasn’t as bad as what Black Chains had to deal with.

Because Black Chains didn’t fight any Dao Lord in this time loop, his avatars could withstand more damage from Loki. But this only meant he could prolong his suffering. The end result seemed set in stone. At least, that’s what Loki believed.

Actually, no Dao Lord was sure that Black Chains would lose and die. They were skeptical because Black Chains had been a notorious menace that always got his way ever since he became a Dao Lord.

The situation had been bad for Black Chains many times in the past. Something like this, where he was in danger of falling from the sky, had happened before too.

He should have died many times in the past, especially during that time the dragon king was still alive. But he had always pulled off an escape by the skin of his teeth. Sometimes, he had even managed a comeback and avenged his defeat.

Even the three talented brothers with Cosmic Daos failed to kill him. So even though Loki seemed to be far stronger than the three brothers were back then as Dao Initiates, no one was confident enough to discount Black Chain’s chances of escaping.
