The State of Chen suffered a crushing defeat.
Xuanyuan Xi was not inherently fond of warfare, but since Shangguan Yan had ascended the throne as a woman, the other states already looked down on her, and if he did not beat them into genuine submission, they would only grow more reckless in the future.
After the State of Chen, it was the turn of the State of Jin and the State of Qing.
The State of Zhao was not among his targets, partly because the State of Zhao had JiaoJiao, and partly because the Emperor of the State of Zhao had barely begun to entertain thoughts of Baoshan Island before Empress Dowager Zhuang crushed that idea at its very inception.
This campaign lasted a full two years, and by the time he reached the State of Wei, he had already grown into a fifteen-year-old youth in the full bloom of his brilliance.
The Wei Emperor had long since ascended the throne, and when he looked at the memorandums sent from the borders, his face was full of bewilderment as he said, “I didn’t bully the State of Yan, did I… Has this kid gone mad? Whoever he catches, he fights?”
A trusted court official replied, “He’s probably still bothered by the matter of our mobilization against the State of Zhao back then; everyone told Your Majesty to stop Prime Minister Liu, but you insisted… insisted on competing with Xiao Ji. Who would have thought that the one who ultimately went to war wasn’t Xiao Ji at all? Not only did it fail to embarrass Xiao Ji, it ended up planting a hidden danger for our State of Wei instead.”
The Wei Emperor shot him a fierce glare.
The Wei Emperor gave the order, “Go summon Prime Minister Liu!”
The eunuch went and soon returned to report, “Prime Minister Liu said he won’t fight Young Miss Gu’s younger brother, and that if you want to fight, you can do it yourself.”
The Wei emperor fell silent.
What kind of unreliable Prime Minister was this!
The eunuch cleared his throat lightly. “However, Prime Minister Liu did give Your Majesty an idea——a beauty trap.”
Liu Yisheng’s original intention had been for the Wei Emperor to offer himself to Shangguan Yan, the kind where he washed himself clean and packed himself neatly into a gift box.
Who would have thought the Wei Emperor would completely misunderstand and directly have a female official send off his own biological daughter instead.
Both the trusted court official and the eunuch were utterly speechless.
Your Majesty, have you really not heard the rumors about this Godly General of the Six States?
So many people had offered him beauties, from imperial princesses and commandery princesses to renowned beauties among the common folk, yet not a single one had caught his eye.
No, that’s wrong. He simply doesn’t like beautiful women at all.
Everyone broke out in a cold sweat for the Wei princess.
The Wei Emperor had no sons and only this one daughter; if she angered Xuanyuan Xi and was killed, the Wei imperial line would end right there.
When the Wei princess learned that her own father intended to offer her up as a bargaining chip for peace, she naturally refused, and the palace attendants urged her not to be willful, saying that the young general of the Xuanyuan Family was extraordinarily valiant and renowned across the realm, and that clashing head-on with him would only cause the border soldiers and civilians to suffer.
The Wei princess clenched her small fists. “At worst… I’ll kill him myself!”
……
The north wind howled as fifty thousand Black Wind Cavalry pressed toward the border.
Xuanyuan Xi wore the golden armor passed down by the Supreme Commander, his long legs straight and powerful, his figure tall and upright.
The cold metal visor of his helmet lowered, concealing the peerless face that had astonished all six states.
Three months earlier, the Black Wind King and Little Eleven had engaged in a battle between kings.
No matter how unwilling Little Eleven was, it still had to accept the challenge issued by the Black Wind King, because this was the method of succession that had been passed down through the Black Wind Cavalry for generations.
Only by defeating the Black Wind King and becoming the new ruler could it lead the Black Wind Cavalry toward the next era of prosperity.
After a bout of fierce combat, the Black Wind King collapsed to the ground in a sorry state, yet there was not the slightest trace of humiliation or despair in its eyes, as though it had been awaiting the arrival of this very day for a long time.
The Black Wind Cavalry welcomed a new succession.
It bowed its head to Little Eleven and acknowledged Little Eleven’s status.
A new Black Wind King was born.
At this moment, Xuanyuan Xi was seated astride the back of the newly appointed Black Wind King, one man and one mount standing like an army of thousands, unstoppable and overwhelming.
“General.” Wen Renchong reminded him in a low voice, “The Shadow Division has obtained intelligence that the State of Wei intends to use a beauty trap, so please be on your guard.”
Xuanyuan Xi did not even lift his eyelids. “A beauty trap? How is that possible?”
He would never be moved by those so-called beauties.
He said arrogantly, “None of them are as good-looking as JiaoJiao!”
Wen Renchong narrowed his eyes and said urgently, “My Lord! It looks like the Wei army is about to attack! Over there… someone is charging over!”
Someone was indeed coming, and yet… after taking another look, Wen Renchong felt that something was off.
What exactly was coming?
Riding a… white little pony?
Although the person on horseback was also wearing armor, it was clearly ill-fitting, the helmet wobbling precariously as if it might fall off at any moment.
Wen Renchong suddenly had the distinct impression of a child secretly wearing an adult’s clothes.
He froze for a moment and said, “My Lord, I’ll go meet them in battle!”
It was just a rookie; he could kill them with a single move.
“Xuan, Xuan, Xuan, Xuanyuan Xi, where are you! Come out and face your death!”
The ‘child’ shouted arrogantly, yet whether from fear or some other reason, the entire voice was trembling and carried a childish tone.
Xuanyuan Xi frowned slightly and urged his horse forward.
The vast battlefield was filled with swirling dust.
Two horses broke into a gallop, charging straight toward one another.
As that person looked at Xuanyuan Xi clad in golden battle armor, charging over like a War God descended from the Nine Heavens, the sharp killing intent instantly frightened them until their small face turned deathly pale.
“I, I, I, I… I came to kill——wah——I won’t kill anymore——I want to go home——”
The little Wei soldier threw their head back and burst into loud sobs.
The rest of the Wei soldiers could not bear to watch.
The helmet on the little Wei soldier’s head, which had already been several sizes too large, fell off with a clatter, revealing a small head beneath, jet-black long hair cascading down like a waterfall and lifted by the fierce wind as it brushed across a delicate and lively face.
Xuanyuan Xi’s expression froze instantly.
The killing intent around him stalled abruptly, and he yanked hard on the reins, this sudden stop almost making Little Eleven’s hooves spark against the ground.
He came to a halt barely three steps away from the other party.
He stared without blinking for a long moment, finally calling out tentatively, “Little Xue?”
“Huh?” Shangguan Xue froze and looked at him with tear-filled eyes.
Xuanyuan Xi’s aura was far too terrifying, and just one glance made her shiver.
Xuanyuan Xi pushed his visor up, then felt that this still was not enough and simply removed his helmet altogether. “It’s me.”
Shangguan Xue blinked her eyes full of tears and asked dazedly, “Jing Kong?”
The usually unsmiling young War God revealed the first bright, captivating smile of the battlefield. “Little Xue!”
Shangguan Xue widened her eyes. “Jing Kong!”

Summary:
Xuan Zhi transmigrated into a world where the cultivation of “Supernatural Talismans” was a central practice. In this world, Talisman Masters could use talismans to summon gods, exorcise ghosts, command demons, and control the five elements, making this profession universally acknowledged as the No.1 most promising career in the cultivation world.
When she arrived, she was dressed in red bridal clothes, sitting in a bridal carriage, holding her ancestral “Celestial Talisman,” and preparing to form a marriage alliance with the Yun Clan of Eastern Zhou.
According to the original plot, after marrying into the Yun family, she would be restrained and effectively placed under house arrest in the name of the “three obediences and four virtues,” her husband would change from the Second Young Master Yun on the marriage contract to the abusive Third Young Master Yun, and she would eventually be tormented to death.
Meanwhile, the Yun family would seize her “Celestial Talisman,” summon wind and rain with it, and leap to become the number one great clan in Eastern Zhou.
Xuan Zhi: “Wouldn’t it be better for me to summon gods myself? Why should I give good things to others?”
***
Xuan Zhi: “Great Sage, I’ve been your fan since I was little!”
The “Celestial Talisman” rumbled, releasing a swirling cloud that carried her one hundred and eight thousand li before she plummeted headfirst straight into the main villain's bath.
Xuan Zhi: “I beseech True Lord Erlang to save my life!!”
The next moment, a dog paw suddenly struck her face, barking fiercely as it tore apart every malevolent spirit and sinister creature that surrounded her.
Xuan Zhi: “I may not be able to summon the great gods themselves, but I can summon their little pets and treasures.” (Forced smile.jpg)
Other characters in the book: “Just what kind of gods is she summoning?!!”
Xuan Zhi: “Sorry, my mythology runs on different lore.”
***
One day, Xuan Zhi finally summoned a god everyone recognized.
The Northern Abyss Ghost Emperor emerged amid countless evil spirit followers, clad in a black flame-edged robe with dancing sashes, his dark red eyes radiating a commanding, kingly aura, so imposing it seemed he was a different person from the one chased and bitten by a dog naked that day.
He held a divorce letter in his hand and sneered. “Part ways amicably, and live our own lives in peace?”
His sinister gaze locked onto Xuan Zhi. She snatched the letter, tore it to pieces, then shyly threw herself into his arms and squeezed out tears. “Boohoo, you devil, why did you come so late? Look, they all bullied me!”
Shentu Tao: “……”
Everyone she pointed at backed away in panic. “Good heavens, who is bullying who?!”

Summary:
In the suspenseful supernatural novel “Records of Mortals,” Jiang Baiyan, once a solitary and impoverished youth, finds refuge in the Shi family of Chang’an due to his extraordinary bloodline. With his clear and captivating peach blossom eyes, this seemingly innocent young man conceals a fanatical and malevolent lunatic within. Destined to succumb to darkness amidst hardship and degradation, he becomes a harbinger of chaos.
When Shi Dai suddenly transmigrates, she takes on the role of the Shi family’s young lady, the one who subjects him to countless trials, eventually leading to her demise.
The twist? She never got to finish reading the novel.
From what she knew of the plot, Jiang Baiyan was just a silent, timid, and often bullied pitiable character.
***
Jiang Baiyan had never encountered someone like Shi Dai.
After he had slaughtered all the evil creatures in the garden, the blood-stained young man, exuding a murderous aura, approached her step by step, his lips curling into a malicious smile, "Scared?"
Shi Dai responded, “You’re really amazing! I applaud you until I spin like a spiral and fly around the moon three hundred times! And also——you have dimples when you smile!"
Jiang Baiyan: ...?
—
After seeing her at a lantern festival with another man, Jiang Baiyan lowered his eyes, his fingers twirling her hair. He said in a mocking and sinister tone, "The mansion in the western suburbs...if I hide you there, no one will find you, right?"
Shi Dai replied, "Does it come with meals and lodging? Can I sleep in everyday? Oh, and your cooking is the best!"
Jiang Baiyan: ...?
—
Jiang Baiyan was supposed to dislike her, even hate her, but as their separation drew near, his eyes turned red and he grabbed her sleeve, pleading, "Don't abandon me, alri—”
Shi Dai responded, "Alright, alright, I’ll only have you. Mwah."
Jiang Baiyan: ...?
He hasn't finished his lines yet though…
