The Green Tea’s Crushing Victories in the ’70s

Chapter 471

Chapter 471 - Zhou Yan's pitiful screeching sound could be heard coming from inside the room. (3)

Wen Rugui’s back had almost fully recovered. He could sit and stand with no problem with the exception that his back would get a little sore if he sat for too long.

He gave Tong Xuelu a call that afternoon.

The two chattered about some trivia matters before Wen Rugui asked about what he was most concerned about.

“What did you grandpa say about the proposal?”

Tong Xuelu, “He said it is up to me.”

Wen Rugui’s heart pounded. “And what do you think about it?”

Tong Xuelu, “You remember how Liu Bei visited Zhuge Liang three times trying to recruit him to work for him? Do you not feel that bringing just your grandpa over to my place to ask me to spend the rest of my life with you was very sloppy and unromantic?”

Wen Rugui blinked. “So you want me to visit your place three times?”

Tong Xuelu thrusted out her lips. “No, you don’t need you to come over to my place three times. But what I do want is a romantic proposal. As for what is romantic, you will have to figure that out on your own.”

Wen Rugui’s frowned so much that there was a knot on his forehead after hanging up the phone.

What would construe a romantic proposal?

Wen Rugui spent an entire day thinking about it but had yet to figure that out. That was a much harder problem to solve than a physic experiment.

He went over to consult Huang Qimin after work that day. Lo and behold, even Huang Qimin was stumped this time.

Huang Qimin scratched his head. “I thought proposing is to bring 2 jin of pork to your girlfriend’s place and announce that you want to get married. What’s more to that?”

He brought with him 2 jin of pork to propose to his girlfriend. Both of their parents sat down together and had a date set and that was that.

What was with this romantic stuff. What was wrong with pork?

Wen Rugui, “……”

Wen Rugui had yet to figure out what would be a romantic proposal when Zhou Yan had gotten his time off approved and was heading back to propose.

He followed Huang Qimin’s suggestion and brought with him 2 jin of pork and his parents to propose to his girlfriend.

Lo and behold, he nailed it the first time.

The Wang family and the Zhou family felt that the two had already been dating for a while and it was a good time to get married.

Not that both of them wanted to get married, the decision was made.

Zhou Yan was so happy that he was smiling from ear to ear.

Thinking that he had yet to touch his girlfriend’s hand, he felt restless. He wanted to take this opportunity to hold her hand.

Wang Xiaoyun, learning that the two would be getting married, lowered her head and blushed.

Zhou Yan took a look outside, took a deep breath, and reached out for her hand.

Right when he was about to touch her hand, he heard footsteps coming from the outside. “Xiaoyun, ask Zhou Yan if he will be staying for lunch.”

Zhou Yan, started, smacked Wang Xiaoyun hard on her hand.

SMACK!

“What a gigantic mosquito!”

Wang Xiaoyun, too, was startled and she also felt a burning sensation coming from the back of her hand.

She looked down. She saw no dead mosquito but she did see the back of her hand swollen up visibly.

Wang Xiaoyun, “……”

Zhou Yan, “……”

The two’s eyes met and the room went silent for a few second.

Quickly, Zhou Yan’s shriek could be heard coming from inside the house.

It was still cold in the beginning of spring but spouts could be seen on the trees on both sides of the road. They were green and very pleasant to look at.

Tong Xuelu got out of work early purposefully and told Tong Xuelu to bring snacks over to the Feng’s and Wen’s after she got home.

Tong Jiaming didn’t think much. He hopped onto his bicycle with the stuff and took off.

As soon as Tong Jiaming was gone, Tong Jiaxin came over and said to her secretively. “What’s our next step, Big Sister?”

Tong Xuelu, “Take care of some of the housework, then adorn the house with the paper cutting from Grandma Shen.”

“Yes, ma’am!”

Tong Jiaxin saluted her before grabbing a broom to sweep the living room.

Tong Mianmian and Mooncake followed behind him like they were his two little tails.

Tong Xuelu started dinner in the kitchen.
