The Green Tea’s Crushing Victories in the ’70s

Chapter 484

Chapter 484 - She had heard nothing about Yan Yongan or Tong Zhenzhen since. (3)

Tong Xuelu couldn’t possibly told this to the Wen family.

Old Mr. Wen was a commander in the past but he had retired years ago and was no longer in the weeds. If she told it to him, he would have to pull strings to have others look into Yan Yongan.

She had no evidence against him whatsoever nor had Yan Yongan did anything to harm them. If words got out, it was likely that he would be the one accusing them of bad deeds.

By the same token, it was no point bringing this up to her grandfather either.

He was over in the Northwestern right now. Not to mention that being in the military was completely separated from the government departments. It would attract too much attention for him to try to extend his reach so far.

Tong Xuelu thought about it long and hard and felt that she could bring this up to Su Yueshen, Xiao Jiu’s father.

Su Yueshen and Yan Yongan worked at the same government department. The two were competitors in the past. It was likely that Su Yueshen was already one of Yan Yongan’s targets.

She planned to make a trip to the Su family tomorrow.

Fang Jingyuan wasn’t upset that she was talking and talking and Tong Xuelu did not respond to her. “Oh right. I think my brother had finally decided to go on arranged dates. I had thought of him as a poo poo head in the past but I felt that he was being Xiang Peng’s beating.”

Tong Xuelu recollected herself. “Taking care of their little sisters is the job of a big brother.”

The Fang Wanyuan in the novel was a disgusting character. He had married Tong Zhenzhen. Even though he did not take part in victimizing original owner, he never tried to intervene with Tong Zhenzhen’s behavior either. His being a bystander contributed to the misfortune of the original owner.

The effect from the original plotline plus Fang Wanyuan’s arrogance left Tong Xuelu with a bad impression about him at the beginning.

After interacting with him for a few times, however, her impression about him had changed some.

Fang Jingyuan picked up another white sugar cake and popped it into her mouth and smiled. “In that case, he isn’t half bad after all. I only hope that he could find me a sister-in-law who’d make me yummy food.”

Tong Xuelu rolled her eyes.

That night, Fang Jingyuan insisted on staying over and to share the same bad as Tong Xuelu. Tong Xuelu booted her off to go sleep with Tong Mianmian.

Tong Mianmian had always been a well-behaved sleeper but, she had some sort of strange dream that night, and ended up punching Fang Jingyuan on her eye.

A loud and painful shriek could be heard coming from the Tong’s yard and Fang Jingyuan feigned crying and swore that she would never stay over at the Tong’s again.

She did, however, change her mind again after Tong Xuelu had made her a serving of potstickers.

Tong Xuelu went to the restaurant, did her ingredient shopping for the day, before she took half a day off and brought her three siblings with her to the Su family.

The Su family were all very happy to see them.

Xiao Jiu, in particular, was smiling from ear to ear.

“Big Sister Mianmian, I missed you so much. I had wanted to go visit you but Grandma said we can’t keep on going over to your place. We will be too much troubles.”

Tong Mianmian stroked him on his head the way a grownup would and said, “You should listen to your Grandma. Here, I brought you some candies.”

Xiao Jiu smiled brightened even more. “I saved candies for Big Sister Mianmian as well. Follow me.”

The two kids held hands and went over to Xiao Jiu’s room. They were so well-behaved that everybody’s lips curved upward.

Tong Xuelu glanced over at the living room and asked seemingly casually, “Where’s Comrade Su and Comrade Gu?”

Xiao Jiu referred to Tong Xuelu as Big Sister. From a generation perspective, that would make his parents uncle and aunty to Tong Xuelu.

But the three of them were so close in age that it made it difficult for Tong Xuelu to address them that way.

Mother Su brought out candies and fruits and said with a smile, “Xiao Jiu’s dad went to tour the countryside and will be gone for a while. Xiao Jiu’s mom is visiting her family.”

“Oh, I see.”

Tong Xuelu sighed to herself. That was not very good timing.

Being anxious right now, however, would not do much good. She could only wait for Su Yueshen to return.
