Chapter 517: Aye, that sword is pretty cool

Kai attacked the beast, punching it in its large head once more, then flew under it and licked it in the belly.

Nadya made sure to help out using her magic to bind the beast if it tried to attack Kai. However, she noticed that each time she tried to use magic on it, her spells would decay and then break.

She quickly realized that the beast was eating away at the time of her spells.

"Kai, I can’t use my magic on this beast!" She flew out of the reach of the beast, avoiding attacks that looked fatal.

"Really?" Kai grabbed the tail and tossed the beast away. "Try time magic, maybe that would work."

"Behind you!"

"Huh?" A tail wrapped around Kai’s waist and pulled him away from Nadya.

"Ahhhhhhhahahahaha! Sike motherfucker!" Grabbing the tail, Kai pulled the beast toward him, coated his fist with fire, then punched the beast so hard that its exoskeleton cracked.

"I cracked time!" He shouted in triumph. "Quickly, Nadya, try and seal it!"

"Got it!" She flew to the ground where the beast landed and used time magic on it. However, that didn’t work, so instead, she created a spell on the fly that used a time magic circle, but at its core was a sealing spell, and this time, it worked.

"Good work, babe. You’re the best." Kai gave her a big smooch.

"Thanks."

"Let’s go help the others now."

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" Gwen was running away because none of her attacks were doing anything against the beast. She tried everything she had, even her destruction spells, but nothing worked.

Sasha, Kyana, and Amaya were in the same boat as well. So instead of facing the monsters, they prioritized helping the civilians.

"Mommy! My mommy is still in there!" A kid cried

Gwen placed the kid down in a safe location. "Don’t worry, kid, I’ll help your mother."

She took off into the house, quickly found the kids’ mother, and was met with a chrono-beast right in her face.

"OH FUCK!" She ducked under the beast, grabbed the mom, and ran out of the burning house, the beast chasing after her.

She dodged to the side, ducked under attacks, and even tossed the mother in the air to avoid the tail, catching the mother before she hit the ground.

Gwen stomped on the earth, creating a pillar of rock to block the beast from following her, but it phased right through it, causing the rock pillar to crumble and fall.

"Fuck!"

"Here! Take this!" A man shouted, tossing Gwen a sword.

Thinking quickly, she threw the woman at the man, then grabbed the sword, coating it in her mana. Once the beast lunged at her, she sliced it in half, killing the monster.

"Fuck yeah! That was awesome! What the hell is this sword?"

"It’s a chrono blade, a sword forged from chrono steel." The man took out another chrono sword and rubbed his fingers along the flat end of it, a golden flame engulfing the blade.

"Cool." Gwen smiled

"Thanks. I’m Sam."

"Gwen."

"Nice to meet you, Gwen."

"Nice to meet you, too, Sam. However, it’s weird seeing a man fight."

"Ah, well, our masters aren’t as strict as the women in the capital." He ran toward another beast, attacking it with all his might, only to be swatted to the side, hit a tree, and then die.

"Pfft! I thought he would be impressive, but he was just a joke. No, he was trying to protect his home, that’s honorable."

Kyana actually learned how to harm the beast relatively quickly and was headshotting every chrono beast that she encountered.

The beasts here weren’t as large as the one that attacked them in the air, but they were just as deadly.

"Nope!" She shot one in the head.

"Nice try!" She jumped over a tail, flipping backward, and shot another one in the head.

When she landed, one more beast was lunging at her, but Kyana already had her string pulled back and was ready to kill the beast. However, Amaya came out of nowhere, a huge smile on her face, and clawed its head off in one swipe.

"Hahaha! I’m the champ!"

"No your not!" Sasha smashed a chono-beast into mush.

"Yes! I’m the one who saw Kyana using time arrows before you did!"

Sasha scoffed. "So, I still killed more beasts than you. And you took a lot of my kills, as you did with Kyana."

"Prove it."

"Bitch!"

"Sounds like you all are having fun. And I see that you figured out the beast’s weakness. Awesome." Kai had arrived with Nadya, who was clearly feeling up on his body to make the others jealous.

"You can get off him, by the way." Kyana hissed

"Make me."

"Not now, girls. We have more important things to—WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SWORD!" Kai ran over to Gwen and took the sword out of her hand.

"Holy shit! Gwen, where did you get this? It looks so cool! It’s like a clear crystal that’s refracting light."

She pointed at the dead guy in the tree who still had a sword in his hand.

Kai called the blade over with mana and handed the other sword back to Gwen.

"I can feel time coursing through the blade. What is this called, a Chrono-Sword?"

"Heh, yeah, actually. Or blade, same thing."

"Amazing!" Kai tossed the sword into his status window and made duplicates in all shapes and sizes. He then had it make armor and other weapons, then handed it to his girls.

"Sweet! Gauntless!"

"This bow is cool."

"Thanks for the axe."

"A wand? Nice."

"A staff, I haven’t used one of those in a bit." Gwen gladly accepted the staff.

"T-Thank you, dear warriors. You have saved our people." An elderly woman approached the group, showing her gratitude.

"No problem. We were stopping by, so we thought that it was only right to help out. Do you have a place we can stay at?" Kai asked

"I’m afraid our inn has been destroyed in the attack. I apologize."

"Oh, that’s fine." Kai clapped his hands, and all of the damage was restored, and everyone who needed to be healed was healed right away. He didn’t bring back the dead because that was more work, and it was technically illegal anyway.
