Chapter 551: Hello, other sister, and familiar faces
Kai and Leo floated down to the surface in an area where the population was relatively small. It was hard to say how small the area was because Divinity City was the size of five super galaxies, so a small village in this area could have a population of nearly one million people.
It was very jarring. Kai wasn’t used to seeing ’small’ villages like these. Hell, this village was the size of a kingdom’s capital.
"This is a village, bro? What, does a hamlet have around 100 thousand people or something?"
"Pretty much."
"Shut the fuck up. That was a rhetorical question."
"So rude."
Kai noticed that everyone here was either a mortal who was on the cusp of becoming a demigod or were demigods. But they were living like ordinary commoners. Farming, gardening, and doing other tasks that one would do in small villages.
"Do they not know who you are?"
"They do, but we just haven’t been spotted yet."
"I see. And why are they living like...that?"
"The social hierarchy is the same no matter where you go. Who do you think created it? It was the gods. You mortals only know about this hierarchy because we were the ones who taught it to you."
"I guess mortals were truly made in the gods’ image, huh? And I’m not mortal."
"That’s true."
The two of them continued to walk through the village, Leo showing Kai how the common folk here lived.
"So you could be a king as a mortal, and end up as a farmer once you become a demigod. The sheer contrast in positions is insane."
"Well, that depends," Leo explained. "Not everyone who sets foot into divinity comes here. This is the best place to be once you become a deity, yes, but it’s not required. Most people stay within their own planet, becoming a god there, or maybe they wander to a nearby planet, help the will of the world form life, and become a god of said new life."
"And what’s the reason for coming here?"
"Family, friends, new experiences, danger, a new start, or to become a primordial. Most dieties want to become one of those. The women also try to seduce me. A few succeeded, others didn’t."
"Simp."
"How many wives do you have?"
"Yeah, and compare that to the number of women you’ve been with throughout your infinite lifespan, you, smart ass."
"Fair point."
"Jimmy! Jimmy, stop running! You can get hurt!" A mother cried out.
"Hahaha! Come and catch me, mommy!"
The little boy ran without looking where he was going and bumped into Kai, falling to the ground.
"You okay, little man?" Kai helped the boy up
"Yes, thank you, big bro!"
"Heh. No problem."
"Jimmy! See, this is why you don’t run." The mother quickly dusted off her son and bowed to Kai.
"I’m sorry for my son’s actions. Please forgive him."
Seeing his mother bow, Jimmy bowed as well.
"It’s no problem. Just an accident." Kai had children, so he understood her. Though his daughters would most likely ram right through anyone they bumped into.
"Thank you very...m-m-much! P-P-PROGENITOR?!" The woman froze upon seeing Leo. She didn’t expect to see the creator of the universe in some backwater village such as this.
Once she got her head together, she dropped to the ground so fast that even Kai didn’t notice her kowtowing until a few moments later, her son doing the same.
"Ha! I am the creator of the universe, aren’t I?"
"No need to brag, dude."
"I’m not bragging, though."
Kai helped the woman up. "Don’t worry about him. He’s just a big fat weirdo. You can go on with your day, ma’am. Take care." Kai grabbed Leo and flew into the sky.
"Why are we leaving?"
"You’re going to give those people a heart attack if we stay."
"You’re no fun."
"Yup. That’s my nickname. No-fun-Kai. My powers make everything boring because I can’t have any fun."
They flew above multiple villages, towns, and cities, eventually making their way toward the capital. The place was so big that it spanned light-years across. Kai’s divine brain could barely comprehend how a living space could span light-years across.
"So if I send a letter to the opposite side of the city, would it take millions of years?" He asked
"No. Warping exists."
"Right. Also, why is this place called Divinity City when there are multiple cities here?"
"Just sounds cool."
"Right. Last thing. Why are—OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF!"
"KAI!" Andromeda slammed into Kai, crashing into a crowded area.
People moved out of the way, not knowing what just happened, while some went to see what was going on.
"A-Andromeda? What the hell, man? A little warning would have been nice!"
"Oh, stop being a little pussy. I’m just happy to see you. Medea! Get your ass down here! Meet our youngest brother!"
A beautiful woman who looked a bit gloomy, but not in a messy way, approached them. She resembled a shy goth girl with a neutral expression, but was clearly confident in the way she handled herself. It was very odd to explain how Kai saw her.
"This is him?"
"Yup. Meet Kai, the youngest of our father and mother. Isn’t he just the cutest?!"
Medea nodded. "He looks like good husband material as well. Maybe we should marry him."
"Heh, don’t even bother. The little rat played with my heart a few days ago. I’m still upset, you know."
"Sorry." Kai smiled.
"Oh, Kai. It’s been a while. How have you been?"
When Kai looked to see who it was, he instantly backed away out of fear.
"Oh come on, I’m not going to hurt you....again."
"You know him, Luminera?"
"Yup. I met him after getting poisoned by Aion, that bastard. Zion wiped out all of his forces while looking for him. But he still hasn’t found where Aion is."
"That’s because he’s locked away in a prison," Kai explained.
"Yeah, we all know that. But he usually keeps around a clone of himself in the form of a Titan that does his bidding."
"Oh. I killed him."
