Chapter 567 567: Those definitely aren't birds or planes
Chapter 567 567: Those definitely aren't birds or planes
The woman told Kai things that he already knew, so he was pretty bummed out when he couldn't really learn anything from her. However, he did notice that she had some sort of mental spell placed in her mind, preventing him from reading her memories.
When he tried to force her to speak, her body started to twist, bones cracking, muscles tearing, and death was close by, but he prevented her from dying and allowed her to keep her secrets to herself.
He took a seat, thinking about what to do next, and sighed.
"What's wrong?" Clarisse wondered
"It's just so boring, doing all of this." He tapped his cheek as his face was sitting in his palms, then an idea came to his mind.
"Hey, you, bitch. You were going to call over your people, right?" He looked toward the woman.
"Y-Yes."
"Good. Call them over and make it sound urgent. You know what, say that this Amazonian here slaughtered this whole group, and you need help stopping her."
The woman was about to speak up, but she hesitated, not because she didn't want to tell Kai something, but because she was afraid of what his response would be.
"Speak up." He demanded
"W-Well, we have contingencies in place for matters such as these."
Kai frowned. "Which are?"
"If something like this happens, then we don't go help each other. It's safer to let one branch die while the others continue the work in the shadows."
Kai had to admit that that was pretty smart, but since he was on the receiving end of that, he was annoyed.
He sighed deeply before responding. "Is there any way you can call them over without them getting suspicious?"
"N-No, not really. Not unless Lord Aion himself arrives."
"Seriously? That's it? You guys have no organization preservation at all. You just let your forces collapse and say 'oh well, I hope the others aren't dead.' Which is bullshit, by the way. And now you're saying that only Aion can gather you all together?"
She nodded fearfully.
"Meh, whatever. Clarisse, rate my acting skills." Kai shapeshifted into Aion and sat up straight. Then he frowned and slouched in his chair. He made a glass of wine appear in his hand, shook it around, and smirked at the woman on the ground.
"I've always held you in high regard, Bessa. But now, not only have you failed me, but your entire group is dead. Tell me, how are you going to solve this problem? If your answer is to my liking, I might just spare your life."
"Whoa! That was pretty spot on!" Clarisse clapped
Even the woman on the ground was impressed with Kai's Aion impersonation. However...
"Who's Bessa?" She asked
Kai shrugged. "I don't know your name, so I called you Bessa."
"O-Oh. Well, my name is—"
"Bessa. I don't care to know what you call yourself. I will call you Bessa, and THAT will be your name from now on. Do you understand?" Kai looked down at her with dangerous eyes.
"I gotta say, that was very impressive, young lord."
"Really? I really tried to sound intimidating but also pretty chill, you know? Aion has that sort of vibe. It pisses me off."
Clarisse nodded. "It pisses me off as well."
"Oh! Right! I remember you all talking about meeting at the rendezvous point or something, right? You're only meeting there since Aion should be back during that time, but you didn't send that message, did you?" Kai wondered
"No. I didn't." Bessa shook her head.
"Good. Tell everyone to meet there right now since Aion is currently free."
"B-But he isn't here yet."
"What are you talking about? He's sitting right in front of you. Honestly, for a primordial, you're pretty stupid. Did you fuck your way to being this strong or something? Climbing the divine ladder?"
"I-I apologize for my lack of knowledge."
"You're literally saying that you're sorry for being stupid. What a dumbass, ha. Make that fucking call."
"Y-Yes, I understand."
As Kai waited for Bessa to make the call as well as tell him where the meeting location was, he decided to call his family, only for any and all messages to be blocked by his father.
Leo received a lot of curse words from the foul mouth of his youngest son.
So, Kai instead took a nap. There was nothing else he felt like doing anyway. With Clarisse here, he didn't even need to worry about being attacked by Bessa.
After ten minutes, Bessa finished everything she needed to do and woke Kai up, telling him to follow her.
"That was quick." He yawned, got up to stretch, then flew alongside Bessa.
"Our network is very efficient." She said proudly.
"Sure, sure, hurry up. I don't have all day."
"Yes. Please follow me closely. I don't want you to get lost."
"Pfft! Do you know who I am? I'm Kai freaking LuForia, I don't get lost."
---
"Where the fuck are we?" Kai was looking around the nebula they were in and had no sense of direction. He was so confused that he nearly went off course, spotting Bessa waving her hand to lead him back on track.
As a space geek, he was nerding out upon looking at the many celestial bodies and couldn't help but get sidetracked. He completely admitted fault and continued to follow Bessa.
Before long, they arrived at their destination, an empty void. While space itself was a void, the current location of Kai, Bessa, and Clarisse had little to no celestical objected present.
"What in the fuck is this place? The Boötes void?" Kai asked out loud
'Yes, actually,' Leo spoke in Kai's mind.
'Seriously?' Kai was just joking. Space was larger than it actually appears in media, so he was used to seeing nothing for lightyears on end. But as a Primordial, he could see how massive space was and tell how far apart celestial objects or clusters were. But here, there was nothing but open space for over 700 million light-years.
'Yeah. It's not called that here, but on Earth, this is what your scientists named this place. I'm still surprised your satellites and telescopes could even see this far.
'It amazes me as well, especially as a deity now.'
As Kai continued to fly closer to the center, there was a massive structure there, a space castle, if you will. He assumed that this was Aion's place. Not his home, but one of the places he frequented when meeting with his subjects.
When he arrived at the place, Kai tried to open the door, but he had no luck at all. Frowning, he turned to Bessa for answers.
"I-I don't know either. Lord Aion usually has this place open for us already. Only his power can open it."
"What's so different about his power compared to yours? Besides his origin." Kai asked
"H-He can use progenitor decay, that's all I know. It's a power that made him significantly stronger than before."
Kai frowned, thened back to the door, then touched it again. This time, he used Progenitor Decay, letting it flow into the door, and it opened with ease.
"Hmph, piece of cake."
Upon seeing this, Bessa feared Kai even more than she already did. She had no idea he could use the god-killing power and assumed he was mooching off Clarisse's own strength.
Even Clarisse was surprised to see him use such a power.
When walking into the castle, Kai didn't care to explore, look around, or do anything of that sort. He asked Bessa where their meetings usually took place, and she told him it was the throne room.
So, Kai went to the throne room, sat on the highly perched seat that he needed to fly up to, and sat comfortably.
"This is not my style at all. But, it's whatever. Clarisse, you'll have to make yourself MIA when this meeting happens."
"I understand." She nodded
Just then, Kai sensed millions of spacecraft and objects approaching the castle as if they were getting out of hyperspace. One by one, they popped up like lights in the night sky, docking close to the castle, which was simply having its crafts float in space.
'Damn, that's probably a lot of people coming here.' Kai thought to himself
Millions of deities of all kinds, demigods, gods, titans, primordials, and even mortals on the cusp of divinity, entered the room and were awed at Kai, who was impersonating his eldest brother.
"L-Lord Aion!"
"My Lord!"
"Oh, how I have missed you, Lord Aion."
They all rejoiced, getting extremely happy and emotional upon seeing Aion once again.
The throne room started to get a bit rowdy, so Kai raised his hand and spoke.
"Quiet." His voice was calm, yet powerful, and his expression made it seem like he was extremely annoyed. After all, Aion was locked in a prison for billions of years.
"Sit," Kai demanded.
Everyone took a seat once they appeared.
"Now. It's been a long while since I've sat down with you all, so how about we have a feast?" Snapping his fingers, tables full of food and drinks appeared in front of everyone.
