Chapter 1034: Shion’s First Encounter with Leona (2)
Ethan placed the crystal ball on the table and touched it.
The crystal ball suddenly lit up with a bright blue glow. A moment later, a hologram of a beautiful adult woman with burgundy-colored hair appeared in front of him.
"Good afternoon, Miss Shion," he greeted her respectfully.
Leona, who was standing behind him, was startled by the sight.
’A hologram? How is that even possible?’
Holograms were sci-fi technology that only existed in novels and movies.
Even with human civilization on Earth, they hadn’t been able to create one yet. Yet now, a real hologram had appeared right in front of her.
For the first time, Leona truly realized just how different this world was. She had underestimated its civilization. This world might be far more advanced than she had imagined.
Shion, still in her holographic form, gave a slight nod.
"Thank you. Could you give us a moment? I’d like to speak with her privately."
Ethan didn’t dare argue. He turned to Leona and gave her a slight nod.
Without saying another word, he turned around and walked out of the room.
Leona stepped forward to where Ethan had been standing and bowed her head respectfully.
"Good afternoon, Miss Shion," she greeted her.
Shion looked Leona up and down. She had already seen her in the photo attached to the letter she had received earlier.
Leona really was beautiful. She had a youthful charm to her, but there was also something elegant and captivating about the way she carried herself.
There was a determined look in her eyes, as if she had been through a lot.
"It’s nice to meet you," Shion said softly. "I’m sorry for calling you here. I hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable."
Leona straightened up and smiled.
"It’s all right, Miss Shion. It’s an honor to meet you."
Leona’s calm and gentle nature made Shion admire her even more.
At the same time, though, she couldn’t help but feel curious.
How could a fifteen-year-old girl have such a mature demeanor?
As far as she knew, it was nearly impossible for someone her age to behave like this.
Pushing those thoughts aside, she said, "I wanted to meet you to discuss many things. But before that, can you tell me about your situation in the Corvayne family?"
Nolan had told her that Leona was often subjected to abuse. The letter she had received had said the same thing.
Leona remained silent for a few seconds before nodding slightly.
She then told Shion everything, including her status as Tristan Corvayne’s illegitimate child.
She had briefly considered hiding some of the Corvayne family’s dark secrets, but she soon realized that would be foolish.
She had long wanted to escape from that family. If she could get Shion’s help, her wish would naturally come true.
Shion didn’t interrupt her and listened until she had finished.
Fifteen minutes later, Leona finished speaking, and Shion finally understood the full extent of her situation.
"It’s exactly as Master described," she whispered, narrowing her eyes.
She took a deep breath before slowly exhaling.
"I understand. There’s one more thing I’d like to ask you. It’s about something important, so I hope you’ll answer honestly."
Seeing her serious expression, Leona’s heart began to race.
’What does she want to ask?’
She had a bad feeling about this. However, she didn’t dare let her expression change and simply gave a slight nod.
"Go ahead, Miss Shion."
Shion looked deeply into her eyes before asking, "Have you ever had a strange dream?"
"A dream?"
Leona was stunned.
Her tension melted away instantly.
"That’s right." Shion nodded and crossed her legs. "For example, a strange, nonsensical dream. Maybe one where you met someone?"
Leona’s mouth fell open. But in the next second, her lips pressed together, and her heart began to race.
’Does she know how strange I am?’ she thought frantically.
She had once had a strange dream. It was a dream in which she met her older brother, Nolan Frey. But in her opinion, it wasn’t exactly what could be called a strange dream.
’Don’t tell me she already suspects that I’m a reincarnator?’
Her breathing quickened. That was the most likely possibility. But she couldn’t understand how Shion could have figured it out.
She was one hundred percent certain that she had never shown any significant changes in personality compared to the original "Leona." She had maintained Leona’s timid and self-deprecating nature.
But how could this be?
Why had Shion realized it?
Cold sweat trickled down her forehead, and her body began to tremble without her realizing it.
"Leona? Why are you so quiet?"
Shion’s confused voice snapped her out of her reverie.
"I-I..."
She stammered, unsure whether to be honest or not.
If she did, how would Shion treat her?
Would she make her a test subject?
Or perhaps use her for something else?
After a long internal struggle, she gritted her teeth and nodded heavily.
"Yes, I... have."
She quickly closed her eyes, afraid of what Shion might say next.
"So that’s how it is. Just as I suspected, huh?"
Leona’s heart began to race again.
"All right, everything’s clear now. I want you to go to the capital tomorrow. I’ll be waiting for you."
Leona was surprised. She quickly opened her eyes and met Shion’s calm gaze.
"What’s wrong? Do you have a problem with that?" Shion asked curiously.
"N-No! I-It’s not like that."
Leona quickly shook her head.
"I-I’m just wondering what I’m supposed to do there."
"Ah, so that’s what you were worried about."
Shion chuckled softly.
"Don’t worry. I’m not going to hurt you. I just want you to meet someone very important. That’s all."
Leona’s tense body slowly relaxed. She’d been genuinely afraid Shion would use her as a guinea pig, but it turned out her fears were unfounded.
’She’s a high-status holder. Why would she ever commit a crime like that?’
Once her mind had calmed down, she smiled and nodded.
"I understand. I’ll go to the capital tomorrow."
Shion smiled back.
"Thank you. Don’t worry, I didn’t ask for this for free. I’ll prepare a gift for you later."
"A gift?"
Leona blinked curiously.
She was really curious about what kind of gift she was talking about.
"All right, I’ll end the conversation. See you in five days."
The connection was cut off.
Leona stood there with a dazed expression.
Clack!
The door slowly opened, and Ethan stepped inside cautiously.
"Are you done?"
Leona snapped out of her reverie and turned toward him.
"It’s done, Mr. Ethan."
"If I may ask, what did Miss Shion ask of you?"
"She asked me to go to the capital tomorrow."
"Oh!" Ethan’s eyes lit up. "Just as I thought—Miss Shion seems genuinely interested in you!"
He patted Leona on the shoulder as he laughed.
Shion frowned and said, "She also said she’d introduce me to someone very important. Do you know who she was talking about?"
Ethan’s laughter immediately froze.
"What... did you say?"
His eyes widened in shock.
"M-Miss Shion said she’d introduce you to someone important?"
"That’s right," Leona affirmed.
Ethan was at a loss for words. There was only one person whom even Shion considered important.
"Could it be the founder of Blue Moon?"
This time, it was Leona who was taken aback.
"The founder of Blue Moon!?"
Her breathing quickened.
"How is that possible!?"
"Hmmm..." Ethan rubbed his chin. "I’m not sure either. But that’s the only person Miss Shion considers important besides His Majesty Emperor Ragan."
Leona looked dazed. If what he said was true, everything was starting to align with her speculation.
The founder of Blue Moon was most likely a reincarnator just like her...
