The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

Chapter 1051: The Swordmaster of Light

Chapter 1051: The Swordmaster of Light

Clang!

Two swords clashed, sending shockwaves in all directions.

Evalyn stepped back, swinging her sword to the side.

"Who are you?" she asked coldly.

She eyed the man standing before her warily.

He wore golden armor, which stood out against the armor worn by the rebel forces.

His short, golden hair was slightly spiky, and his light blue eyes were beautiful yet full of determination.

He was tall, perhaps around 1.85 meters.

The man drew his golden sword and laughed.

"Hahaha! I never thought this day would come."

He planted his sword into the ground and bowed slightly.

"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Elyan. The people of the Southern Continent call me the Sword of Light."

Hearing that title, Evalyn’s eyes widened.

"The Sword of Light?"

She recognized the name. It was the title of the second-strongest swordsman in the Holy Empire of Valtanir.

His abilities were recognized throughout the continent.

After all, the Sword of Light was famous not only for his swordsmanship but also for his identity—he was a direct disciple of the Singularity of Light.

What exactly did it mean to be a direct disciple?

Elina, who had received only indirect support from the Singularity of Chaos, had already caused a sensation among the empire’s nobility.

One could only imagine how intimidating the Sword of Light’s status was.

Evalyn had never imagined that she would one day come face-to-face with such a figure.

"So, it’s true. The Holy Empire of Valtanir is behind this rebellion, huh?"

Evalyn pointed her sword at him, her eyes narrowing coldly.

Elyan smiled at her words.

"Didn’t you realize it from the start? Why are you still so surprised?" he asked with a chuckle.

He assumed a fighting stance and swung his sword to the right.

"All right. Let’s get this fight started. We’ll see who’s stronger. Is it me, the direct disciple of the Singularity of Light, or you, the descendant of the Hero of Light?"

Evalyn didn’t dare underestimate him and assumed a fighting stance of her own.

Soldiers from both sides hurriedly retreated.

The area within a hundred-meter radius fell silent, as if it had been cleared specifically for their duel.

Whoosh!

Elyan darted forward at the speed of light, then appeared directly above Evalyn.

He spun horizontally in midair while swinging his sword.

Boom!

The ground beneath Evalyn’s feet cracked and then shattered as she blocked the attack with the Divine Sword of Luminus.

"Oh? You’re quite nimble."

Elyan laughed, then vanished and reappeared right beside her.

"Gotcha."

He slashed at Evalyn’s waist.

Caught off guard, Evalyn quickly twisted her body and managed to dodge the attack.

However, Elyan’s powerful slash cleaved through the air.

The surrounding air compressed before exploding, and the resulting shockwave shook the very souls of the soldiers watching from a distance.

Evalyn leaped into the air, spun around, and darted toward him.

Slash!

Elyan managed to dodge her attack, but Evalyn didn’t stop there.

She swung her sword again, aiming for his neck.

Just as her blade was about to strike, Elyan, who had been cornered, suddenly transformed into a flash of light and vanished.

"A teleportation technique? No, that’s impossible. I didn’t sense any magical fluctuations."

Evalyn narrowed her eyes warily.

She turned and saw Elyan standing twenty meters away.

He still looked calm and relaxed, as if the fight hadn’t worn him down at all.

"Very good. It’s been a long time since I last fought a sword master who could get my blood boiling like this."

Elyan laughed and shook his head.

"Evalyn Lionheart, you haven’t disappointed me!"

Evalyn seemed unfazed by his praise.

"Stop talking! Show me what you’ve got!"

Whoosh!

She darted forward as fast as the wind, appearing beside Elyan before swinging her sword to the side.

"Worldbreaker Sword Art!"

Buzz!

The Divine Sword of Luminus blazed with brilliant light.

Elyan’s expression changed. He immediately swung his sword to block the attack.

But the impact sent him flying backward.

Before he could react, Evalyn appeared behind him. The Divine Sword of Luminus glowed even brighter.

"Die!"

As she swung her sword, a three-meter-high blade of energy formed and shot toward Elyan.

Boom!

A massive explosion rocked the area, sending shockwaves in all directions. Even the soldiers watching from a distance felt the impact.

Smoke and dust filled the air, covering everything nearby.

Evalyn hovered in the air, staring at the site of the explosion.

"Is he dead?" she asked hesitantly.

She wasn’t entirely sure. After all, her opponent was the Sword of Light. There was no way he could lose that easily.

Whoosh!

A flash of golden light shot out of the black smoke. It was Elyan.

He still looked fine, though his hair was slightly disheveled.

He wiped the corner of his mouth, then turned toward Evalyn with a smirk.

"Not bad. You’re much stronger than I expected."

Evalyn smiled back.

"So are you. Normally, anyone hit by my attack would be dead by now, yet you’re still standing. That’s... incredible."

Her compliment was clearly laced with sarcasm, making the tension between them grow even more intense. The air around them felt cold and oppressive.

Suddenly...

Whoosh!

Both of them rushed forward at lightning speed and clashed.

Boom!

They were thrown backward, only to charge at each other again.

Every time they clashed, the impact sent shockwaves across the battlefield.

In the distance, Elina was busy cutting down her enemies with her sword.

Boom!

The sound of another explosion, accompanied by the trembling ground, startled her.

She turned toward the north and saw two streaks of light—one golden and one white—racing through the air and colliding several times.

Elina narrowed her eyes.

"Evalyn? Then who’s the other one?"

Evalyn was incredibly powerful.

She was one of Elina’s trump cards in this war. Yet the rebel forces had someone capable of holding her at bay. Elina hadn’t expected that at all.

"Hahaha!"

A burst of laughter suddenly rang out in front of her.

"Are you surprised by that?"

Elina turned and saw Corvin approaching, carrying the corpse of an imperial soldier in his right hand.

He tossed the corpse toward her.

Elina glanced at it and saw its horrific condition. The body was covered in slashes, especially across the chest and abdomen.

Her expression remained impassive, without the slightest change.

The smile on Corvin’s face immediately faded.

"Tsk! You’re really no fun."

Elina looked away from the corpse and studied Corvin closely.

"Who is that person?" she asked coldly.

Corvin smiled again.

"Are you referring to the person currently fighting the hero?"

Elina didn’t answer, but her silence was enough.

Corvin’s smile widened.

"Take a guess."

Elina remained expressionless, and Corvin soon lost interest in teasing her.

"Actually, I don’t feel like telling you. But since you asked, I’ll answer."

He folded his arms across his chest and replied casually, "He’s Elyan, the Swordmaster of Light."
