The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

Chapter 549: Trugar Port

Chapter 549: Trugar Port

"We’re here," Nolan said, peeking out the window.

In the distance, a massive port came into view. It was Trugar Port—one of the largest ports in the eastern region.

It was quite far from the town of Virella, roughly a six-hour journey by horse-drawn carriage.

In truth, the actual distance was much greater, but Elina had spent a large sum building a road to the port.

As a result, the distribution route for merchants heading to the town became far easier and cheaper.

Of course, Nolan had secretly replenished the money she spent. After all, the account Elina used was directly linked to him.

He could freeze or transfer funds to that account whenever he wished.

"It’s good that we’ll arrive soon. I feel a little nauseous," Evalyn whispered, covering her mouth.

Nolan glanced at her and couldn’t help but laugh.

"You’re still suffering from motion sickness, just like always, Evalyn. I don’t know how you’ll manage on the ship later," he said helplessly.

Since childhood, Evalyn had been prone to motion sickness. Once, he and Evalyn traveled to the western region by horse-drawn carriage and were forced to stop in several cities to rest.

The reason was, of course, Evalyn. Even now, he remembered it clearly.

"Noisy," Evalyn replied, rolling her eyes.

The horse-drawn carriage finally arrived at the port, and Nolan and Evalyn stepped down.

Evalyn was still panting, cold sweat visible on her face, while Nolan gave instructions to the coachman.

Once he finished, the carriage turned around and drove away.

Nolan walked over to Evalyn, helped her bend forward slightly, and gently rubbed the back of her neck.

"Come on, throw everything up. Otherwise, the dizziness won’t go away."

Hearing his words, Evalyn finally couldn’t hold it in any longer and emptied the contents of her stomach.

"Huwekk..."

Nolan turned his face away. If he didn’t, this woman would surely get embarrassed and hit him.

A few minutes later, Evalyn felt much better. Nolan removed his hand from her neck and handed her a bottle of water.

Evalyn was briefly confused about where the bottled water had come from, but she was too dizzy to think about it and pushed the thought aside.

After drinking, she felt better and looked at Nolan with a smile.

"Thank you."

"You’re welcome."

Nolan took out a handkerchief and gently wiped the corners of her mouth.

Evalyn was surprised, but then a beautiful smile bloomed on her face.

"So, are we leaving now?" Evalyn asked, glancing at the bustling port.

Giant ships were anchored at the docks, while hundreds—no, perhaps thousands—of people moved about the port area.

There were merchants, ship crews, and travelers preparing to journey to distant kingdoms or empires.

"Yes, we’re leaving now. The last ship to the eastern continent will depart at night. That’s the news I got from Elina," Nolan replied.

Actually, he had wanted to ask Elina to arrange a private trip on a specially prepared ship. However, he soon realized that such a move would be far too risky.

The invitation from the Eastern Empire of Izanagi was highly confidential and must not be known by Cedric or Aldric.

Otherwise, the battle for the throne would be pushed to its peak.

He wasn’t worried about his sister’s safety. After all, Malverna was by her side.

What concerned him was accelerating the conflict too quickly. That would not be good for his sister’s path to the throne.

Everything had to proceed slowly and under his control. Only then could Elina become a perfect leader—one who might even surpass their father and all previous rulers.

"Let’s go," Evalyn said enthusiastically, pulling Nolan toward the port.

This was the first time she had gone out alone with Nolan, disguised as ordinary people.

It felt thrilling—and oddly enjoyable.

The two blended into the crowd at the port. Although Nolan and Evalyn had simplified their attire, they still gave off an unmistakable air of wealth.

"Young master, young lady, are you heading to the western region? Why not take my ship? The price is cheap—only ten thousand Sharn per person," a crewman said with a professional smile.

"Don’t take his ship—take mine instead! It’s cheaper, only eight thousand Sharn per person! You’ll even get a private room and three meals a day!"

A fat man in shabby clothes, his face drenched in sweat, hurriedly cut in, interrupting the previous offer.

Sensing that his potential customers were being taken away, the man immediately flew into a rage.

"They’re my passengers! Watch your mouth, or I’ll slap you!"

Instead of backing down, the fat man responded with an arrogant grin.

"As long as they haven’t paid you, they’re fair game for every ship here. Don’t get cocky, buddy."

"You—" The man grew even angrier.

He rolled up his sleeves, clearly ready to start a fight.

The fat man was undaunted and did the same, preparing to strike.

Nolan let out a slow breath before stepping in.

"That’s enough. My partner and I aren’t heading west, but east. There’s no need to waste your energy."

Evalyn, standing beside him, froze when she heard that. She glanced at Nolan, her expression a mix of embarrassment and annoyance.

’Who’s your partner, huh?’ she whispered, clearly dissatisfied.

Nolan replied with a subtle wink, signaling her to stay quiet.

The two men exchanged looks of surprise, then restrained themselves.

Why fight over passengers who weren’t even going to the same region?

It would only make them look foolish.

"I hear you two want to go to the eastern continent. How about boarding my ship?"

A calm, unhurried voice came from behind them. Nolan and Evalyn turned around in surprise.

When they turned around, they saw a man wearing glasses with a neat, refined appearance.

His hair was slicked back, and his gray robe looked elegant.

Frankly, his appearance felt out of place in the port, where most people were dressed casually.

"You—" Nolan was about to speak when the two men suddenly pointed at him at the same time.

"Harad, what do you mean?" they demanded in dissatisfied tones.

The man named Harad glanced at them and replied casually, "Of course I’m offering my services to potential passengers. Coincidentally, my ship is heading to the eastern continent."

"Ugh..." The two men gritted their teeth, irritated by Harad’s good luck.

In the end, they gave up on Nolan and Evalyn and walked away.

"So, what do you say? Would you like to board my ship?" Harad asked again.

Evalyn didn’t answer immediately. She looked at Nolan, as though the decision rested entirely with him.

Nolan folded his arms across his chest. He studied Harad from head to toe and quickly realized this man was no ordinary person.

"How much does it cost?"

Harad smiled faintly and adjusted the bridge of his glasses.

"It’s a bit expensive, but I’m sure you can afford it. Forty thousand Sharn per person."
