Chapter 582: Sun God
Chapter 582: Sun God
"Nolan Lorian, have you come to understand yourself yet?"
Nolan gasped in surprise. He looked left and right warily, then asked cautiously, "Who are you?"
The voice vanished just like that. The next second, a ball of fire appeared about three meters in front of him.
It then transformed into the face of a handsome man.
"Answer my question, Nolan Lorian. Have you recognized yourself yet?"
This voice sounded heavy—a stark contrast to the earlier one.
Nolan fell silent. He didn’t understand what it meant.
Recognize himself?
Did it mean there was something within him he wasn’t aware of?
No matter how hard he thought, he still couldn’t find the answer.
Whoosh!
The fireball disappeared, then reappeared about ten meters away. This time, it took the form of a woman’s face that closely resembled the statue he had seen in the worship hall.
"It seems you haven’t recognized yourself yet. That is a sin, you know?"
Nolan regained his composure and stepped toward her.
"A sin, you say? What does that mean?"
The face smiled and stared at him intently before answering, "Life, death, and reincarnation... these three are the foundations of the universe’s creation. You have experienced them once—life, death, and reincarnation. Am I right, Nolan Lorian—no, it should be Nolan Frey."
Nolan remained calm. Now, he seemed to understand who the man—or woman—before him was: the Sun God.
His grandfather once said that the Sun God had no gender. They could take the form of either a man or a woman.
That was why, despite being called a god, the statue was shaped like a woman.
This apparent inconsistency was a form of respect for the concept of being genderless.
"It feels wonderful to be recognized by a god. Maybe I’m the only person lucky enough to experience this," Nolan chuckled.
The Sun God smiled again. "You are truly strange. You carry a heavy burden on your shoulders—responsibility and power—yet you still have time to think like that. You... are completely unique."
Whoosh!
The fire vanished, then reappeared about four meters to his right. This time, it took the form of a man’s face again.
"Reincarnation comes with responsibility, Nolan Lorian. Your arrival in this world is not without reason. The Goddess of Life has a plan for all of this. Your task is to uncover what that plan is."
Nolan stepped closer, shock written across his face.
"The Goddess of Life?" His brows furrowed. "Is she the one who brought me back to life after I died in the first world?"
He had often wondered which god or goddess had revived him in this world.
To his surprise, it was the Goddess of Life. Inevitably, he recalled the faint whisper he had heard when his soul was lifted into the sky in the hospital operating room back then.
It was a woman’s voice—a voice he would never forget across his two lifetimes.
"Yeah. The Goddess of Life is the one who did that. If you want to know the reason, you can meet her yourself."
"Meet her myself? How?" Nolan scratched his head in confusion.
The world he lived in was the realm of mortals, while the gods dwelled in heaven.
He had no idea how to reach such a place. After all, the universe was vast beyond measure.
Moreover, the planet he was on was only one among billions.
Finding her would be nearly impossible—even with his power as the Singularity of Chaos.
"As for that, there are two paths you can take. First, you must become a god."
Hearing those words, Nolan’s heart began to race.
"Become a god? Are you serious?"
He was just an ordinary human. Becoming a god was something he had once imagined, though he believed it to be impossible.
"Becoming a god is not impossible. You are one of the bearers of the seven god powers—the power of chaos. That is the foundation for your ascension. But that alone is not enough. You must unite the other six powers to become a complete god."
"Absorb the other six powers?" Nolan’s expression gradually turned serious.
He had never even considered that. Six god powers—meaning six Singularities.
If he obtained all of them, could he truly become a god?
But he quickly dismissed the idea. Singularities were deeply bound to their powers.
If their powers were taken, they would die—just like the previous Singularity of Chaos.
So if he chose that path, he would have to fight the other six. That was impossible. He would surely die.
"What’s the second way?" Nolan asked directly.
The fireball vanished again and reappeared five meters behind him. The woman’s face formed once more.
"The second way is to find the incarnation of the Goddess of Life."
"Find the incarnation of the Goddess of Life?" Nolan frowned. "Do you know where she is?"
"I do, but I can’t tell you. You must find her yourself."
Her indifferent answer left Nolan speechless. Still, he had already expected that she wouldn’t give him a clear answer.
"All right, that’s enough for today. I’ve been out too long and interfered too much in your affairs. The other gods will surely be displeased."
"Wait, there’s one thing I want to ask." Nolan quickly stopped her.
The Sun God glanced at him. "What is it?"
"Is there any chance I can return to my previous world?" Nolan asked in a heavy voice.
His face, usually indifferent and lazy, now shone with unmistakable hope.
In his previous world, there was someone very precious to him.
He wanted to go back and see her—at least once.
But the Sun God’s cold answer crushed that hope.
"No, that’s impossible. Your life and death in that world have already run their course. That means you are completely severed from it."
Nolan instantly felt weak, as if all his strength had drained away in that moment.
"But..." A faint smile appeared on the fire god’s face. "If you can become a god, then it’s not impossible."
After saying that, the figure disappeared completely, leaving Nolan standing there in a daze.
"So, I can return... if I become a god?" he whispered.
His face reflected frustration and helplessness.
If he could, he would do it now. But he knew it wasn’t that simple.
Composing himself, he recalled the second method the Sun God had just mentioned.
"Meet the incarnation of the Goddess of Life. But how?" he wondered, rubbing his sore temples.
Finding someone among billions of living beings was harder than finding a needle in a haystack.
He didn’t know the incarnation’s characteristics, let alone its exact location.
"Hah... It seems I have a lot of work ahead of me," he muttered.
He then glanced at the surrounding darkness and asked, "So, how do I get out of here?"
Just then, a trembling yet very familiar girl’s voice rang out.
"Brother!"

Author’s Note: The appearance of the Sun God and anything related to the gods is not the main focus of the story. There will be no battles between gods or anything like that, so you don’t need to worry. The main conflict remains the battle for the throne. This Chapter is simply an interlude to explain the origin of the Seven Singularities’ powers and the reason Nolan was able to reincarnate in that world—that’s all.
