Chapter 596: Revealing the Truth to Elina
Chapter 596: Revealing the Truth to Elina
"Hah... that man is really annoying," Elina muttered, letting out a long sigh.
Rafine brought over a glass of water and handed it to her.
Elina took it and drank it in one gulp. As the cool liquid washed down her throat, she felt a bit better and managed a small smile.
"Thank you."
Rafine nodded. "So, who is he exactly? Does he have a problem with you?"
Earlier, she hadn’t been able to hear the conversation because she had been busy finishing her work in her room.
Elina shook her head. "He’s Gareth Redwyre, the leader of Torosvia, a town about ten kilometers from Virella. He came asking for my help with a water crisis in his town. But I couldn’t assist him. Virella is still developing, and I don’t want to risk slowing its progress by helping him."
Her face looked cold and indifferent. In truth, Elina wasn’t a cruel person.
If it had been Leonard who came, she would have helped without hesitation. After all, he had been there for her during a difficult time a few months ago.
But Gareth Redwyre was different—the same man who had refused to help her when she had needed it.
Elina wasn’t vengeful by nature, but she was still human. His past refusal had bruised her pride.
So she couldn’t bring herself to help him easily. Of course, the town’s development was still the main reason she refused to help.
"I see..." Rafine nodded slightly, as if she understood. "Well, it’s your choice. I’ll always support you."
She gently patted Elina’s shoulder.
According to the information she had received three months ago, Gareth Redwyre was one of Cedric’s many supporters in the battle for the throne.
So, when Rafine learned the man’s identity, she showed no mercy. After all, he was their enemy.
Elina couldn’t help but feel pleased. Rafine’s presence—always supporting her and offering advice on every decision—was invaluable.
No wonder her brother Nolan had asked Rafine to be by his side; she was truly a reliable friend.
Just then, a maid hurried in, bowing her head respectfully.
"Excuse me for interrupting, Your Highness. Guests have arrived and wish to see you," she said cheerfully.
"Guests?" Elina frowned. "Who are they? Are they the same people as before? If so, send them away. I don’t want to deal with them."
The maid quickly shook her head. "No, Your Highness. They are—"
Before she could finish, Nolan and Evalyn stepped inside.
"Tsk! You’re so cruel, Elina. Planning to kick out your brother and me?" Evalyn teased, feigning annoyance.
Elina and Rafine froze at the sight of them.
"Brother Nolan and Sister Evalyn!?" Elina exclaimed. "H-How did you get here?"
She hurried toward them, Rafine following close behind.
"I’m sorry for not telling you first," Nolan said softly, ruffling her hair. "We arrived earlier than planned. I just wanted to surprise you. Surprised now?"
Nolan’s playful gaze met Elina’s, then shifted to Rafine, who was still wide-eyed.
Sensing him watching, Rafine quickly averted her eyes in embarrassment.
"That really was a surprise," Elina said with a long sigh. "I almost called Uncle Luvistar to kick you two out, but luckily I didn’t. Alright, go to your rooms and clean up. You both... smell a bit."
She wrinkled her nose and waved her hand.
Rafine immediately noticed it too and took a step back.
"Smell?" Nolan looked stunned and sniffed himself.
Then, leaning toward Evalyn with mock seriousness, he added, "Ah, it’s coming from here. No wonder I feel dizzy around you, Evalyn."
Evalyn: "..."
Blue veins appeared on her forehead as she clenched her fists.
"Say that again," she demanded, her mouth twitching with anger.
Nolan leaned closer, lips near her ear, and whispered, "You stinky woman."
"Bastard!"
Evalyn swung her fist, but Nolan was quicker, dodging and sprinting toward his room.
"Don’t run away, Nolan Lorian!" she shouted, chasing after him, leaving Elina and Rafine staring at each other helplessly.
"They’re really like children," Elina muttered, shaking her head.

Nighttime...
In the living room, Elina, Rafine, Nolan, and Evalyn sat on the sofa.
Elina settled next to Evalyn, while Rafine sat beside Nolan. The three women wore nightgowns in white, blue, and cream, each radiating her own charm and personality.
Elina’s white hair hung loose down her back, adding to her striking beauty.
Evalyn had tied her silver hair up, enhancing her elegant and mature appearance.
Rafine, meanwhile, braided her hair into two plaits that rested on her ample chest. The youthful style made her look like a lively seventeen-year-old, full of energy and vitality.
Nolan wore black pajamas, the top button undone, revealing the defined silhouette of his sculpted chest.
The four of them chatted casually until Elina brought up the topic of the Eastern Empire of Izanagi.
"So, brother, what are you doing there? Nothing serious, right?" she asked, sipping her tea.
Rafine turned toward Nolan, eager to hear his story.
Nolan didn’t answer immediately. He stirred his coffee slowly, then took a sip.
As the bitter, sweet, and slightly sour flavors mingled on his tongue, he closed his eyes for a moment, savoring the taste.
Then he set the cup down and said, "About that... there’s a lot I need to tell you."
Elina and Rafine exchanged curious glances. They could sense that Nolan was about to reveal something important.
Yet they remained silent, waiting for him to continue.
"Elina... did you know that Mother is actually a princess of the Eastern Empire of Izanagi?"
Elina and Rafine froze for a moment before regaining their composure.
"Mother... a princess of the Eastern Empire of Izanagi? What do you mean?"
Elina’s voice trembled with shock and disbelief.
Nolan smiled and began to explain. "Mother’s real name is Yuki Taira. She is the first princess of the Eastern Empire of Izanagi. She..."
He went on to recount everything to Elina, leaving out nothing.
Elina was an adult; there was no reason to hide the truth from her. More importantly, this information was vital for the future plans he had in mind.
Elina and Rafine listened intently. With each detail, their shock grew.
Only after Nolan finished did they begin to fully grasp the significance of what he had revealed.
Elina remained silent, her expression complex. She had never imagined that her mother—always seeming so simple—could hold such an extraordinary status.
Not only was she a princess, but she was also the heir apparent to the Eastern Empire of Izanagi.
In terms of power, the Eastern Empire of Izanagi rivaled even the Great Velmora Empire.
Yet history had proven that Izanagi was far more fearsome than it appeared on the surface.
Who would have imagined that her mother belonged to such an empire?
Such news... was beyond anything she could have imagined.
