Chapter 612: Date Day
Chapter 612: Date Day
Two days later...
Nolan arrived at the Blue Moon building and was surprised by the sight in front of him.
"Shion?" Nolan muttered in surprise.
The woman stood in front of the mirror, looking stunning. Her burgundy hair was neatly styled, slightly wavy, and flowed down her back.
She wore a dark red dress that reached her ankles. The dress was slightly loose, but it still showed her alluring curves.
Gold earrings hung from her ears, and a blue necklace rested around her neck.
The necklace was exquisite. The pendant was shaped like a blue teardrop that sparkled in the sunlight.
Noticing his presence, Shion turned and smiled, then spun gracefully.
"How do I look? Is it nice?"
Nolan looked her up and down before giving an admiring nod.
"It’s very nice! I didn’t expect you to be so beautiful. It reminds me of how you looked when I first took you away from that slum."
Nolan chuckled, a teasing glint in his eyes. Back then, Shion’s appearance was far from perfect. She was extremely thin and short, and her hair was messy.
Even after all these years, Nolan still remembered how her body smelled, as if she had just crawled out of a garbage dump.
Shion froze upon hearing his words. Her arrogant face flushed red at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"M-Master, don’t remind me of that!"
She hurriedly covered her face with both palms. Just imagining how she looked back then made her so embarrassed that she wanted to bury her face in the ground.
She could hardly be called a "girl" back then because her condition was so terrible.
"Pfft! Why be embarrassed? Besides, I was the only one who saw you like that, right?"
Nolan smiled as he stepped forward and stopped in front of her.
"Alright, don’t take it too seriously. I was just joking. Now, let’s go. I’ve reserved the most luxurious restaurant in the capital and prepared something special for you," he said, taking her right hand.
"Something special? What is it?" Shion tilted her head curiously.
Nolan rolled his eyes and replied, "Because it’s special, it’s a secret and a surprise for you. If I told you, it wouldn’t be special anymore, would it?"
Shion felt that his words made sense and gave an awkward smile.
"Let’s go."
Without waiting for her answer, he pulled her along and left the room.
...
"Argh! What was I thinking? How could I kiss Nolan!?"
On her bed, Evalyn buried her face in a pillow while kicking her legs in embarrassment.
She didn’t expect herself to do something so stupid.
A few moments later, she calmed down, though not completely.
She lowered the pillow from her face and stared at the ceiling, still feeling embarrassed.
"But come to think of it, that kiss was my first kiss. That smelly guy is really lucky," she muttered irritably as she touched her lips.
Then she remembered that Nolan had never been close to any woman, let alone had someone special by his side.
That meant the kiss she gave him was also his first.
"Hehehe..."
Just imagining it made her feel joyful, though the embarrassment still lingered.
"But... ugh... how am I supposed to face him later? He won’t be angry, right?"
The worry was clear in her eyes. She was truly afraid Nolan might hate her instead.
On one hand, she was happy that her first kiss had been with that smelly guy. On the other hand, she was afraid of how he would react when they met again.
This conflict made her, the descendant of the transcendent and the sole wielder of the Holy Sword of Luminus, feel depressed for the first time.
"Ugh! I can’t be such a coward!"
Evalyn quickly sat up and clenched her right fist tightly.
"I know our relationship will probably become awkward and can’t be the same as before. But I don’t want to give up. I want him to fall in love with me and see me as the most important woman in his life!"
She had loved Nolan for a long time. She was just too afraid to express it.
She didn’t want their relationship to crack and grow distant just because of her confession, which would likely be rejected by him.
Even so, she wasn’t willing to give up so easily. Rafine’s appearance by Elina’s side had become a real threat to her.
Although Evalyn always seemed indifferent, it was only on the surface. Every night, she imagined the worst-case scenario to push herself forward.
That was why she dared to kiss Nolan, despite knowing it might make him hate her.
After gathering her courage, she got out of bed and changed her clothes.
No matter what, she had to see Nolan and explain what had happened, including her feelings.
...
Nolan and Shion walked hand in hand.
"What’s wrong with you? Why are you holding your chest? Is your shirt too tight?" Nolan asked curiously.
He glanced at Shion’s chest and unconsciously compared it to how she used to look in the past. Her growth was truly remarkable, almost like heaven and earth.
Even her size was not inferior to his aunt, Kaede. Because he had been too focused on his sister’s problems, he hadn’t noticed it before.
"No, it’s not like that. I just feel a little embarrassed," Shion admitted, averting her gaze.
As someone who stood at the top of the pyramid in this empire, Shion had almost forgotten what it felt like to be embarrassed.
Usually, she appeared firm, cold, and confident. But only with Nolan did she feel like a normal woman again.
This feeling was strange, yet pleasant.
Before, she had thought she was abnormal because she was so different from ordinary women who could fall in love, feel the happiness of having a partner, and enjoy romantic things.
And now, that feeling had finally appeared, giving her a sense of relief and reassurance that she was still normal.
However, she couldn’t love any man except her master, Nolan.
But that was enough. She didn’t need anyone else but her master.
Meanwhile, Nolan simply smiled when he heard her words. Shion had never been close to any man except him.
This was also the first time she had held his hand, so it was no wonder she looked shy and nervous.
"If your subordinates knew you could be this shy, I’m sure your image would be ruined," Nolan whispered, leaning close to her ear.
The cold sensation of his breath made Shion’s body freeze. Her breathing grew heavier as a red blush spread from one ear to the other.
"You..."
Shion wanted to hit Nolan for daring to tease her. But she couldn’t do it—not because she was afraid, but because she simply couldn’t bring herself to.
Nolan chuckled and apologized. "I was just joking. Alright, let’s go."
Without saying anything else, he took her hand and led her through the streets of Solvaria.
