Chapter 658: Obtaining a Personal Weapon
Chapter 658: Obtaining a Personal Weapon
"This is the contract. Its name is Eternal Shackles."
Eternal Shackles was an immensely powerful magical contract. It was considered forbidden—something no mage would ever dare to use.
It was also an ancient contract, long forgotten by most mages of this era.
Typically, this contract was used to bind someone forever. It was impossible to destroy it unless the vow embedded within it was destroyed as well.
In Obsidia’s case, the vow she made was to accept the founder of the Lyren family and all of their descendants as her masters.
She was absolutely forbidden from choosing anyone outside that bloodline. Instead, Obsidia could only survive by absorbing mana from her master’s body.
Thousands of years had passed, yet the contract still remained in effect.
No matter how powerful Obsidia became, she would never be able to free herself from it. After all, she was the subject of the contract, which meant she had no authority to dissolve it.
Unless the entire Lyren family died out, she would remain bound forever.
Nolan examined the skull mark closely.
"This is a very powerful contract," he muttered.
Obsidia let out a small sigh. She already knew that much, and it seemed Nolan had no way to help her either.
"But I can remove it."
Those words stunned Obsidia. She stared at Nolan in disbelief before asking in a trembling voice, "You can remove it? You’re not joking, are you?"
Nolan rolled his eyes. He was the Singularity of Chaos. The words that came from his mouth could not possibly be lies.
Besides, this was only a trivial matter. No matter how powerful Eternal Shackles was, he could still break it.
Nolan placed his palm against the exposed skin between Obsidia’s breasts.
It had to be admitted that despite being a spirit, she still possessed a physical body, and the warmth of her skin felt unmistakably real beneath his touch.
Her full bosom was soft and supple, yet Nolan remained unmoved by any lewd thoughts.
His focus was on only one thing—removing the Eternal Shackles contract.
Meanwhile, Obsidia felt her cheeks heat up. In the past, she rarely cared about the boundaries between men and women.
After all, she was a weapon spirit. But her experiences over the years had made her understand those boundaries all too well.
Buzz!
Suddenly, black light burst from Nolan’s palm. At the same time, the skull mark on her chest trembled violently.
The next moment, under Obsidia’s stunned gaze, the mark cracked, shattered into fragments, and vanished without a trace.
Nolan withdrew his hand and asked, "How do you feel?"
Obsidia snapped out of her daze. She quickly checked her body, then her eyes widened.
"That restraint... it’s gone!" she exclaimed in disbelief.
For as long as she could remember, the contract had placed an invisible pressure on her body. Obsidia had always known it was the Eternal Shackles, binding her like unseen chains.
But what could she do?
If it weren’t for that contract, she wouldn’t be where she was now. In a way, both she and the founder of the Lyren family had gotten what they wanted.
Still, the contract that had bound her for so long had vanished so easily. It left her stunned, as if everything that had happened was nothing more than a dream.
"Didn’t I tell you it would be easy for me?" Nolan chuckled softly as he rose to his feet. "In that case, let’s make a contract between the two of us."
After saying that, Nolan formed a mysterious hand seal. Then he pressed his index finger against her forehead.
Whoosh!
A flash of dark purple light erupted, illuminating the entire room. Seconds later, it vanished.
"Don’t worry. Even though it’s called a contract, it’s really just a formality. You and I are equals, so relax," Nolan said calmly as he withdrew his hand.
He knew exactly what would fully win Obsidia over—freedom.
The woman had endured loneliness for thousands of years. The restraints of Eternal Shackles had also made her suffer, even if only indirectly.
Because of that, Nolan had no intention of binding her again. Besides, he didn’t truly need a personal weapon.
With his fists and spatial power alone, he could defeat most enemies.
Still, having a personal weapon was a matter of prestige. And there was no harm in having one.
Obsidia checked her body and realized Nolan’s words were true. She felt no restraints at all, as if she had finally been set free.
A wave of relief and gratitude washed over her. She knelt on one knee and bowed her head respectfully.
"I, Obsidia, the spirit of the Void Reaver Disc, swear to serve as your weapon forever," she vowed.
Nolan smiled and raised two fingers. In an instant, Obsidia was lifted off the ground.
"Don’t kneel like that. You’re my personal weapon now, so act a little more arrogant," Nolan said, half-joking.
Obsidia froze for a moment. Then, before she realized it, a beautiful smile bloomed across her face.
"Mm! I understand!"
"Go back inside me first and recover."
Obsidia’s eyes sparkled at those words. She had long wanted to taste Nolan’s mana.
Without hesitation, her form turned into light, shot toward Nolan’s forehead, and vanished.
Now only Nolan remained, along with his unconscious sister and Aldrian’s lifeless body sprawled on the floor.
Nolan walked to the bed and sat on the edge. He gazed at his sister’s flawless, beautiful face, as if it had been carefully carved by the gods themselves.
He placed his palm on Seira’s forehead. A faint black light seeped from his hand. Moments later, Seira’s eyelids fluttered, then slowly opened.
She stared blankly for a moment before sitting up.
"Where am I?" she asked weakly.
"You’re in the room. Aldrian was about to rape you, but I stopped him."
The voice startled her. Seira turned her head and saw Nolan.
"Nolan? Why are you here?"
Nolan smiled. "I came to save you. If I’d been even a little late, Aldrian would’ve raped you."
Hearing that, memories of what had happened at the restaurant began to resurface. A wave of nausea rose in her stomach, followed by a chill that spread through her body.
She had never imagined Aldrian would do something so vile. Luckily, he failed. If he hadn’t... Seira would’ve killed herself on the spot.
"Where is he?" she asked.
Nolan pointed toward Aldrian’s lifeless body on the ground.
Seira’s eyes widened, but only for a moment before she regained her composure.
"Did you kill him?"
"Yes, I killed him. Don’t tell me you’re sad, Sister?" Nolan teased.
Seira rolled her eyes and pinched his cheek. "No way. I’m actually glad. Only with his death can this engagement finally be broken off. I’m tired of all this drama."
She let out a small sigh, yet the smile on her face showed just how relieved she was.
Only she truly understood the weight of that engagement. Her mother wanted to use it to secure help from the Ancient Kingdom of Eron, while Gulvar and Melody had their own motives—they wanted protection and support from the Singularity of Light.
In short, Seira and Aldrian were nothing more than pawns, to be used until they had no value left.
But then she suddenly remembered the royal family. Her face paled, and she asked in a trembling voice, "Nolan... Aldrian is dead. Won’t we face retaliation from the royal family?"
