Chapter 677: A Bounty and Ruthless Killing (2)
Boom!
Venom and the others were blown to pieces. Blood and organs splattered in every direction, turning the area into a horrific scene.
Fortunately, Nolan had already told his sister to close her eyes. Otherwise, the sight would have terrified her.
Meanwhile, Black Rose and Red Rose could only stand frozen in place. Their faces were deathly pale, their lips trembling as if they wanted to speak but couldn’t.
Nolan turned toward them and gave a faint smile. He dismounted his horse and asked, "What about you two? How do you want to die?"
His cold, cruel words made both women tremble.
At first, they had planned to seize the chance while the others attacked Nolan and Seira.
Instead, everyone had died in the most horrifying way possible.
Nolan, whom they had considered a worthless prince, had been hiding his power all along. And the person who placed the bounty had never mentioned any of this.
"W-Wait, Nolan Lorian!" Black Rose stammered. "Can you spare us? I mean, the two of us never even tried to kill you. Doesn’t it make no sense for you to direct your killing intent at us?"
Red Rose nodded frantically and added, "T-That’s right! Just pretend we were never involved, okay? We beg you!"
Tears streamed down their beautiful faces as they begged for mercy. At a glance, they looked utterly pitiful.
If it were any other man, he might have felt a pang of sympathy and let them go.
But who was Nolan?
He was a man who upheld equality!
Whether man or woman, as long as they showed hostility toward him and his family, there was only one outcome: death.
Seeing Nolan remain silent as his footsteps drew closer, Red Rose realized he had no intention of sparing them.
Gritting her teeth, she suddenly pulled a dagger from her pocket and hurled it at Nolan.
Nolan easily knocked it aside. But the dagger exploded the moment it hit the ground, releasing a thick cloud of black smoke that swallowed his vision.
"Run!"
In the next instant, Black Rose and Red Rose vanished from where they stood.
"Ahem!" Nolan coughed, waving his hand in front of his face.
He stared in the direction they had fled and gave a faint smirk.
"Trying to run away from me? How naive..."

Whoosh!
Two shadowy figures leaped from one tree branch to another at incredible speed.
They glanced back from time to time, and when they saw Nolan wasn’t chasing them, they finally let out sighs of relief.
Naturally, they began to slow down. But in the next moment, a mysterious force appeared and restrained their bodies in midair.
Red Rose’s and Black Rose’s eyes widened in fear. They exchanged glances, already knowing who was behind it.
"Tsk! Do we really have to play hide-and-seek?"
Nolan appeared on a nearby branch. With his hands in his pockets, he gazed at the twin sisters floating helplessly in the air, wearing a playful expression.
"N-Nolan Lorian... who... are you!? How... can you have power like this!?" Red Rose asked in a trembling voice.
Nolan’s power was deeply mysterious. It was invisible, yet it controlled her and her sister so completely that they couldn’t even move a finger.
"You don’t need to know that," Nolan replied calmly. "What you should be thinking about right now is your own life. How do you want to die?"
He wouldn’t be fooled by the two of them. It was obvious they had only been buying time, waiting for an opening.
Both of them grew even more terrified. They could sense the weight behind Nolan’s words.
"N-Nolan Lorian... how about you let us go? In exchange, we’ll tell you who organized this bounty," Black Rose offered in a choked voice.
She was certain Nolan would accept. After all, knowing who wanted him dead would give him peace of mind.
And sure enough, Nolan’s eyebrows lifted slightly. He fell silent for a moment, then gave a small nod.
"That’s an interesting offer. Alright. Tell me who’s behind this."
Black Rose pursed her lips. "Before I answer, you have to promise not to kill us."
Nolan’s eyes narrowed, and his voice turned icy. "You’re not in a position to bargain with me. Speak now, or I’ll kill both of you."
Under that gaze—sharp as a blade—the two women stiffened, a chill running down their spines.
"I-I don’t know exactly who issued it," Black Rose replied nervously. "But one thing’s certain—the bounty came from the royal palace."
In truth, she didn’t know who had placed it. She and her sister had only received the order through the assassin organization they worked for.
Nolan frowned. "Is that all? How boring."
He had expected something more useful. But he’d overestimated them.
There was no way the one behind it would expose their identity openly. That would be suicide.
"Too bad. Your information is worthless, so I won’t waste any more time on this nonsense."
He snapped his fingers. A black fireball appeared above their heads.
Before either of them could react, the black flames dropped down and engulfed them.
The heat was so intense they couldn’t even scream. Within moments, their bodies and clothes turned to ash, which was then scattered by the biting night wind.
Nolan didn’t leave right away. His thoughts lingered on the person in the palace who had placed a bounty on him and Seira.
"Could it be him?" His eyes narrowed. "If so... what a pity."
He gave a faint smile. "He’s created an enemy he’ll never be able to defeat in his entire life."
A soft chuckle escaped his lips. Still, Nolan had no intention of dealing with that person yet.
Let him enjoy himself for a few more days.
When the time came, Nolan’s revenge would arrive and shatter all his dreams.

"Sister, open your eyes."
Nolan’s soft voice startled Seira. She slowly opened her eyes and met his gaze.
"Nolan?" Her eyes widened in surprise. "Are you okay? And..."
Her wariness rose as she glanced left and right. "Where are those bad guys? They didn’t hurt you, did they?"
Unconsciously, she gripped Nolan’s shoulders tightly.
"It’s fine. I took care of them. You can relax."
Seira froze. Only then did she realize the others were gone. The area around them was deserted and eerily quiet, with not a single person in sight within ten meters.
"This..." Her eyes widened in shock. "What did you do to them? Could it be that you..."
Before she could finish, Nolan had already mounted his horse and patted her thigh.
"Don’t worry about it. Now, let’s go."
Seira swallowed her curiosity and nodded weakly.
"Alright."
Just as Nolan was about to spur the horse forward, a faint sound came from behind them.
Both of them instinctively turned their heads and saw a thick, long black shadow stretching to the side.
Seira’s breath caught in her throat. "N-Nolan, they’ve caught up to us! Run!"
Nolan nodded grimly. Without hesitation, he kicked the horse’s sides, and the two of them sped away.
