Chapter 690: Arrest After Returning
Chapter 690: Arrest After Returning
Three days later...
Two warships carrying tens of thousands of soldiers from the eastern region had been sailing nonstop.
During that time, Nolan enjoyed his leisure, attended by his two beautiful sisters at his sides.
The sight made the soldiers envious. Seira and Elina were among the most beautiful women in the empire.
Being treated like that—getting massages and being fed grapes—was something no one would ever dare to imagine.
Yet right in front of them, Nolan was enjoying it.
Other than feeling jealous, there was nothing they could do. Those three days were easily the worst days of their lives.
"So, when are we getting there?" Nolan asked as he opened his eyes.
"It should be soon," Elina replied, picking up two grapes and popping them into his mouth.
Nolan chewed and swallowed, but it didn’t bring him the happiness the soldiers had imagined.
Instead, his expression remained flat, almost bored.
"Alright."
Nolan slowly stood up and stretched his stiff body.
"Let’s go out and get some fresh air."
Seira and Elina nodded. The three of them left the cabin and stepped onto the deck, where the soldiers were busy keeping the ship on course.
"Good afternoon, Your Highness Nolan, Your Highness Seira, and Your Highness Elina," the soldiers greeted, bowing respectfully.
The three of them gave a small nod and walked over to the railing on the left side of the ship.
The sea breeze was cold, and the overcast sky completely hid the sunlight.
"Look—that’s Redhoven Port!"
Elina’s voice startled Nolan and Seira. They followed where she pointed and saw a massive port crowded with ships.
It was Redhoven Port in the city of Thalora, which was under the rule of the Hermes family.
"Thank goodness... We’ve finally arrived," Seira said with a sigh of relief.
It would be a lie to say she hadn’t been worried. Over the past few days, her mind had been filled with thoughts about the threat from the Ancient Kingdom of Eron.
It wasn’t impossible for them to be ambushed along the way. If that happened, everything would become far more complicated.
Fortunately, nothing happened. The chaos in the royal capital seemed to have made the royal family too afraid to act recklessly.
Their ship drew closer to Redhoven Port. Twenty minutes later, it finally arrived and docked in the special area reserved for warships.
Nolan, Elina, and Seira stepped off the ship.
"I want to go to sleep right away," Nolan said, yawning lazily.
Elina smiled helplessly. "Is that all you can think about?"
Seira smiled as well but said nothing. She was already used to his lazy behavior.
Just as the three of them thought they could finally rest, a cold voice suddenly rang out from ahead.
"Don’t move!"
All three of them froze. When they looked forward, they saw at least twenty soldiers in silver armor.
Each of them held a weapon pointed directly at them.
Elina frowned and asked coldly, "What is the meaning of this? Do you want to be severely punished for pointing weapons at the imperial family?"
The leader, Reigar, stepped forward and stared at the three of them indifferently.
"I’m sorry, but this is merely a precaution to prevent you from escaping."
He glared coldly at Nolan and then said, "Nolan Lorian, you have violated the imperial palace’s rules. In the name of His Majesty the Emperor, you are under arrest!"
"Under arrest!?" Seira and Elina exclaimed in unison.
The merchants who had just disembarked from their ships were stunned by the announcement.
However, before they could even figure out what was happening, Reigar’s subordinates quickly secured the area and kept everyone away.
"Wait, Reigar!"
Darius stepped down from the ship with thousands of soldiers behind him.
He walked past Nolan and stopped right in front of Reigar. His tall, imposing figure made him look intimidating.
"What do you mean by this? Arresting His Highness Nolan? Who gave you that order?"
Reigar furrowed his brows. He glared at Darius with displeasure and replied coldly, "This has nothing to do with you, Darius. Step aside."
However, Darius didn’t budge. "This is the eastern region. As the commander-in-chief under Duke Austin, I have the right to question your orders. Otherwise, I won’t let you do whatever you want."
Reigar was the commander of the Sixth Division in the imperial capital, while Darius commanded the forces of the eastern region.
In terms of rank alone, Darius outranked him, which was why he showed no fear.
Reigar realized that if he insisted on taking Nolan away, he would only put himself in a difficult position.
He reached into his pocket and handed over an official document bearing the emperor’s seal in the lower right corner.
"Here is the proof. You can examine it yourself," he said coldly.
Darius took it and read it. A moment later, his face turned pale.
"This..." he muttered, not knowing what to say.
Noticing the change in his expression, Elina and Seira exchanged serious glances.
"Give it to me," Elina ordered.
Darius handed over the document, his eyes occasionally flicking toward Nolan with pity.
Nolan, however, remained calm, as if he didn’t care at all.
Elina began reading the document. Her expression instantly hardened when she reached the final line: "The Arrest of Nolan Lorian."
"It’s real," Elina said heavily. She turned to Nolan and whispered, "Brother, this is an official arrest warrant for you. Father issued it."
Seira took the document from her hands and read it. Once she confirmed it was genuine, her body stiffened as she looked at Nolan in panic.
"Nolan..."
Before she could finish, Nolan gently patted her shoulder and reassured her, "It’s okay. Father must have his reasons."
He took the document and skimmed through it.
Then he walked past Darius and handed it back to Reigar.
"I’ll go with you."
"Brother!"
"Nolan!"
Elina and Seira shouted in unison. However, Nolan ignored them and gestured for Reigar to take him.
Reigar let out a sigh of relief. This task felt incredibly heavy, and from the beginning, he hadn’t wanted to take it on.
But what could he do?
The Emperor had already given the order, and he had no right to refuse.
Fortunately, Nolan wasn’t stubborn, so everything went smoothly.
Reigar took out the golden handcuffs and apologized.
"Forgive me, Your Highness."
Nolan didn’t object and allowed him to cuff both his wrists.
Once it was done, Reigar and his soldiers immediately escorted him away.
Seira bit her lower lip anxiously.
"What should we do, Elina?" she asked in a trembling voice.
Elina suppressed her unease and said calmly, "Don’t worry. I’ll handle this. Just try to stay calm, Sister."
Although reluctant, Seira knew there was nothing she could do.
In the end, she could only nod and leave everything in Elina’s hands.
