Chapter 751: The Demon Emperor’s Order
Chapter 751: The Demon Emperor’s Order
"Good evening, Your Majesty, the Demon Emperor."
The man seated on the throne slowly opened his eyes. His cold expression was enough to make anyone who met his gaze tremble in fear.
Demon Emperor Zerathos glanced at Yuria and gave a slight nod.
"Has everything been taken care of?" he asked in a flat tone.
"Yes, Your Majesty," Yuria replied respectfully. She straightened up and presented the document in her hand. "I have detailed everything in this report."
Demon Emperor Zerathos raised a finger, and the document instantly floated toward him.
He took it, opened it, and read it carefully. The attack on the Central Continent was crucial—it would be the decisive moment for the Demon Empire’s victory over humanity.
When Zerathos finished reading, his cold expression softened slightly.
"What an extraordinary analysis. With a plan this well thought out, I’m confident we can win the war," he said calmly. "Good work, Yuria."
Yuria felt a surge of joy. Her body trembled slightly, and her face flushed, but she quickly regained her composure and bowed her head.
"Thank you for your praise, Your Majesty. I did all this for the victory of the Demon Empire," she replied humbly, without a trace of arrogance.
Zerathos nodded in satisfaction at her attitude. Yuria was the subordinate he trusted most.
She had followed him ever since he ascended the throne. She was also the most intelligent demon, a master of cunning schemes.
It could be said that much of the Demon Empire’s current success was due to her plans.
"By the way, Yuria, how are Karakan and Malgrion? Why haven’t I received any news about them?" Demon Emperor Zerathos asked indifferently.
The two demon generals had gone to attack the Hero of Light and his forces. Yet it had been more than two weeks since they departed, and Zerathos had received absolutely no word from them.
He couldn’t even sense their presence anymore. There was only one possibility—both of them had fallen.
Although he was already certain of the outcome, he still needed to confirm the truth.
"Demon General Karakan and Demon General Malgrion..." Yuria swallowed hard. She knew she couldn’t hide this matter from him. Finally, she took a deep breath and answered honestly. "We’ve just received word that both of them have died."
The atmosphere instantly grew silent and tense. A powerful aura erupted from Demon Emperor Zerathos’s body.
The throne room trembled, and the pillars began to crack, showing signs of collapse.
"Y-Your Majesty! P-Please control your anger!" Yuria cried out in panic.
If the Demon Emperor lost control and destroyed the palace, countless lives would be lost. That would only harm the demon race itself.
Hearing this, Demon Emperor Zerathos slowly calmed down—though not completely.
He clenched his teeth and asked in a heavy voice, "Why didn’t you tell me about this sooner?"
His gaze locked onto Yuria, making her tremble with fear.
"I-I’m sorry, Your Majesty. It’s not that I didn’t want to tell you, but the news only just arrived. I came straight here to report it," she stammered.
Demon Emperor Zerathos stared at her for a few more seconds before finally withdrawing his gaze and giving a slight nod.
"I trust you," he said coldly. "Then who killed them? Was it the Hero of Light, Rei? Or the Hero of Darkness, Lucas?"
Those were the only two he believed capable of defeating his demon generals.
"Demon General Karakan is said to have been killed by the Hero of Light, Rei," Yuria explained in a tense voice. "As for Demon General Malgrion..."
She paused, doubt visible on her face. "He is said not to have died at the hands of either of those two heroes, but at the hands of a young woman from the human race."
The answer left Demon Emperor Zerathos momentarily speechless.
"Killed by a young woman from the human race?" His eyes narrowed sharply. "Who is this woman? Is she a famous warrior among humans?"
Yuria swallowed hard and replied in a trembling voice, "No, Your Majesty. The one who killed him was an unknown woman—nameless, without status, and with no record whatsoever. Her origins are unclear as well. We tried to investigate but found nothing about her."
"How is that possible?" Demon Emperor Zerathos asked, shocked. "Did you search properly?"
"We did, Your Majesty. And that is exactly what we found," Yuria replied helplessly.
She had obtained the information from the demon soldiers who had survived the battle, so the truth could be trusted.
Demon Emperor Zerathos fell silent, but his expression grew even darker.
If Rei had defeated Malgrion, he might not have been so furious. Malgrion’s death could still be considered honorable.
But in reality, Malgrion had died at the hands of a woman of unknown origin.
It was an insult to the Demon Empire—and to him personally as its emperor.
Demon Emperor Zerathos took a deep breath, then ordered in a cold voice, "Yuria, convey my orders to Demon General Margoth. He is to attack the Dragon’s Foot border. Mobilize all his forces and ensure that woman is captured. And remember—do it efficiently! I want her taken alive and brought before me within three days. Understood?"
Yuria hurriedly knelt and replied respectfully, "As you command, Your Majesty!"
Demon Emperor Zerathos waved his hand, and Yuria quickly stood up and left.
Once Yuria departed, the throne room was left with only Demon Emperor Zerathos.
He gazed in the direction she had gone and muttered, "A mysterious woman... I wonder who she truly is."
Malgrion had been incredibly powerful—at least in the eyes of the demon race.
Although Zerathos could defeat him, it would still require a considerable amount of effort.
Yet Malgrion had fallen, and what was even more humiliating was that his death had come at the hands of a woman whose origins were unknown.
"It seems humanity has been holding back its strength all this time," Zerathos whispered, clenching both fists tightly. "That mysterious woman might only be the beginning. Many powerful individuals will soon emerge to support them in this war. Therefore, the demon race must accelerate its assault on the Central Continent."
Only when the Central Continent fell into his hands would the demon race’s victory be certain.
After all, the Central Continent served as the command center of humanity’s forces.
As he was lost in thought, the sound of an explosion suddenly rang out, followed by an earthquake that shook the entire imperial palace.
Zerathos stiffened and looked around warily.
"An attack?" he muttered, his eyes narrowing sharply. "Who dares to attack the imperial palace?"
Before he could even guess the culprit, the sound of frantic footsteps echoed from the direction of the throne room gates.
"Your Majesty! Your Majesty! Something terrible has happened!" a demon guard cried out in fear. "The imperial palace is under attack by a mysterious man!"
Demon Emperor Zerathos was taken aback. In a controlled voice, he asked coldly, "Who is this man?"
The guard gasped for breath and shook his head.
"I don’t know, Your Majesty. All I know is that he came for one purpose—to meet you!"
