The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

Chapter 753: The Cunning Demon (2)

Chapter 753: The Cunning Demon (2)

On the southern side of the city of Mal’Zareth lay a slum area.

It was so filthy that a repulsive stench could be smelled from every direction.

"Umm... Is your business here, sir?" Nolan asked hesitantly.

"Correct." The horse-headed demon nodded and pointed ahead. "More precisely, thirty meters that way."

Nolan swallowed hard and forced a look of fear.

He glanced around and saw many wretched demons lying in the alley.

They were disheveled, covered in wounds, and appeared neglected. Most striking was the putrid stench that clung to their bodies.

’Are they already dead?’ Nolan wondered silently.

He had underestimated the demon race. No wonder they were considered cruel—they even treated their own kind that way.

Nolan could not deny that such practices also existed in human cities. However, they did not usually go so far as to leave lifeless bodies lying on the roadside.

They finally reached the end of the alley, where a rundown house stood with walls stained in dried blood.

Nolan swallowed hard, his voice shaking. "T-This place... is where you do business?"

The horse-headed demon nodded, grinning widely.

"Hehehe... that’s right. Why? Are you scared?" he asked mockingly.

Nolan froze in place, then shook his head.

"N-No, I was just... surprised," he explained.

The horse-headed demon seemed satisfied and stepped inside.

"Come in."

Nolan followed him and was immediately greeted by a horrifying sight.

The interior of the house looked devastated and was filled with various torture instruments.

Several demon corpses hung from the ceiling, were nailed to the walls, or lay scattered across the floor.

Even more terrifying, their chests and heads were hollow—as if their hearts and brains had been ripped out.

"They..." Nolan was about to speak when the horse-headed demon clapped his hands.

"Come here, all of you. We have a special guest."

As soon as those words were spoken, footsteps echoed from deeper inside the house.

Four demons emerged one by one, each with the heads of a wolf, a tiger, a bear, and a monkey.

They were tall—about two and a half meters—with bulging muscles and an intensely intimidating aura.

"Boss, where have you been? Did you bring back any new prey?" the tiger-headed demon asked in a hoarse voice.

"Hehehe... of course." The horse-headed demon grinned widely.

He pointed at Nolan. "He’s your next prey."

The four demons turned toward Nolan at once, their eyes filled with hunger and thirst.

"Hehehe... a pig-headed demon. I think he’ll taste delicious," the wolf-headed demon said, wiping away his drool.

Nolan staggered back, his face pale with panic. "W-What does all this mean!? You’re going to make me a sacrifice!?"

"Hehehe... and if I am?" the horse-headed demon chuckled softly. "Little demon, you’re far too naïve. Do you really think I helped you for no reason?"

He laughed again, then added casually, "From the beginning, you were nothing more than prey I intended to feed them. Alright, let’s not waste any more time. You four..."

Snap!

He snapped his fingers. "Eat him. Once you’re done, we’ll find another prey to trade."

"Hahaha! Thanks, boss! This little pig is sure to be delicious!"

"Hahaha! It’s been a while since I’ve eaten a pig-headed demon. It’s got to be good."

The wolf- and bear-headed demons smirked widely.

They stepped forward, ready to attack Nolan—until a casual voice suddenly came from him.

"Pfft... don’t jump to conclusions. It’s still unclear who’s the prey and who’s the hunter."

The four demons froze.

Nolan’s panicked expression vanished, replaced by a calm smile that radiated sharp confidence.

They exchanged confused glances, as if to say, "What’s wrong with him? Has he gone mad?"

But they didn’t dwell on it and immediately charged at him.

When they were just one meter away from Nolan, something shocking happened.

Slash!

All four demon heads were severed simultaneously and rolled onto the floor.

Their bodies stiffened for a moment before yellowish-black blood gushed from their severed necks.

The sight left the horse-headed demon rooted to the spot.

His expression was filled with disbelief.

"Y-You..." He backed away in fear, staring at Nolan as if he were a monster.

Nolan waved his hand, and his appearance returned to its original form.

"A human!?" the horse-headed demon screamed in horror.

This was demon territory. It was impossible for a human to have made it this far.

At the border, there was a powerful magical barrier. Any human who attempted to cross would be immediately detected by magic.

So how had this man entered undetected?

Moreover, he had used a disguise so perfect that even his body odor matched that of a typical demon, completely fooling the horse-headed demon’s sense of smell.

Nolan stepped forward, and the horse-headed demon hurriedly backed away.

"D-don’t come any closer!" he cried in fear.

"What’s wrong? Why are you so afraid?" Nolan smiled coldly. "You were so confident just now when you ordered them to devour me. But why do you look like that now?"

Nolan’s steps drew closer, making the horse-headed demon even more panicked.

"F-Forgive me! I didn’t know you were human! Please don’t kill me!"

He prostrated himself immediately, his body trembling violently.

Had he known this person was dangerous, he would never have acted so boldly earlier.

Yet at the same time, he was also filled with rage. He was a demon, and his status was higher than that of an ordinary human.

But the human in front of him dared to threaten him, and he couldn’t accept that.

Nolan merely smiled coldly at his reaction. How could he not guess what the demon was thinking?

But he wasn’t in a hurry to kill him.

"Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. But you have to tell me where the imperial palace is and where its weak point is for an attack."

The imperial palace was surely heavily guarded by a powerful magic circle.

Even though he was confident in his abilities, there was no harm in finding a weaker point.

"The Imperial Palace?" The demon was stunned. Just moments ago, he had even intended to report Nolan’s appearance to the palace authorities.

Who would have thought this foolish human actually wanted to go there himself?

Wasn’t that the same as digging his own grave?

However, since the man had asked for it himself, it actually worked in his favor.

With a sly smile, he nodded and began explaining everything.

Nolan listened calmly. Ten minutes later, he had fully grasped the layout of the Imperial Palace.

"I-I already told you. So, can I go now?"

Nolan nodded slowly and smiled faintly.

"Of course. Go ahead."

The demon’s eyes lit up. He hurriedly stood up and walked past Nolan.

’Hehehe! Once this is over, I’ll report you to the Demon Emperor—and I’ll be richly rewarded!’

Imagining the glory ahead, his smile grew even wider.

But suddenly...

Slash!

A sharp cutting sound rang out beneath him. He stopped in his tracks, touched his neck, and felt warm liquid spilling out.

When he saw it, his eyes widened.

"B-Blood?"

Before he could comprehend what was happening, his head fell and rolled onto the ground.

Nolan watched it all calmly and muttered indifferently, "Trying to run away? Unfortunately, I have no mercy for that."

Whoosh!

His figure blurred, then vanished like a gust of wind.
