The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

Chapter 766: The Cursed Girl (1)

Chapter 766: The Cursed Girl (1)

On the Western Continent, there was a well-known slum city called Azrakar.

Unlike most demon cities, Azrakar had a relatively small population. The number of demons living there did not even exceed seven thousand.

The city was located on the outskirts of the Western Continent and was extremely remote.

Hardly any demons came to the city except to stop briefly before continuing their journey to another destination.

"So this is the city of Azrakar, huh? I hope it’s really here," muttered a man clad in a black cloak.

He lowered his hood, revealing a handsome face with red skin and pointed ears.

It was Nolan in disguise. The reason he came to this city was because, yesterday, before heading to the camp where Rei and Evalyn were staying, he had sensed something that caught his attention.

That "something" kept tugging at his instincts, as if it shared some kind of connection with him. For that reason, he decided to investigate and find out what it truly was.

Nolan glanced around. The city of Azrakar was shrouded in thick white mist. As far as the eye could see, the streets were nearly empty, as if there were no demons within a fifty-meter radius.

However, Nolan paid little attention to it and continued walking. Suddenly, his gaze shifted toward an alley on the right side of the street.

The alley was fairly wide, and many demons could be seen entering and leaving it.

Coincidentally, the direction of the "something" he sensed pointed to that alley.

Nolan walked inside and discovered that the place was far more crowded than he had expected.

"Come on in! We’ve got high-quality slaves! Cheap prices! I guarantee you’ll be satisfied!"

"Hurry! Limited-time offer! Buy two slaves, get one free! First come, first served!"

The shouts of the demons on both sides were so loud that Nolan’s ears ached.

He observed them, and his gaze shifted to the chained men and women of various races.

"A slave market?" he muttered.

He hadn’t expected the direction of the "something" he sensed to lead him to a slave market.

Moreover, the market was enormous. There were at least twenty to thirty slave traders present.

All of them were demons, and the slaves they sold were not limited to their own race but also included humans, elves, and even half-dragons.

This was the first time Nolan had seen a slave market operating so openly. He was certain such a business should be illegal.

"Hey, handsome. Why are you just standing there? Why not take a look at the slaves I’m selling? I’m sure you’ll like them."

A man walked toward him with a knowing smile.

Nolan glanced at him. The man turned out to be a short, bald demon.

He had a single eye located near his nose. His appearance would be enough to terrify any human.

But among demons, he was fairly ordinary.

Nolan waved his hand in refusal. "No, I’m not interested at all. Go away."

But the demon turned out to be far more stubborn than he had expected. He grabbed Nolan’s hand and pulled him toward his stall.

"Don’t be shy, young man. I know better than anyone what your most basic need is. It’s sex! So I’ve prepared plenty of beautiful slaves for you. Don’t be shy."

Nolan: "..."

He hadn’t expected the demons in this slave market to be so shameless in their sales pitch. But he didn’t refuse.

In truth, he wanted to see firsthand how those slaves were captured and kept captive.

There were several binding spells, but they seemed far ahead of their time, as if they came from centuries in the future rather than the present era.

Perhaps he could study the magic used on those slaves and use it to his advantage later.

When he arrived at the demon’s booth, Nolan saw many female slaves with their necks bound by special black iron chains.

Most of them were female demons, but there were also a few humans, and their condition looked pitiful.

"Well, take your pick, young man. Don’t worry about the price. I’ll give you the best and cheapest deal!" the demon said, rubbing his hands together as if eagerly anticipating which slave Nolan would choose.

Nolan looked over each of the demon slaves one by one, but he wasn’t the least bit interested in them.

How should he put it... Aesthetic preferences between demons and humans were vastly different.

Most of the slave demons in front of him had bulky bodies and terrifying faces.

They might have been beautiful by demon standards, but not to him. To Nolan, they looked terrifying.

Although there were human slaves as well, they could only be considered average.

Nolan had seen many beautiful women before, so his standards of beauty were far beyond those of an ordinary person.

Just as he was about to refuse again, that strange feeling returned. His gaze unconsciously shifted deeper inside.

"Is it in there?"

The thing that had caught his attention seemed to be inside the room before him.

"Are you selling other slaves in there?" he asked indifferently.

The demon was taken aback. He hesitated for a moment before answering, "Yes, there are other slaves inside as well. But their condition..."

His voice trailed off, but Nolan understood what he meant.

"Take me inside," Nolan ordered indifferently.

The demon wanted to refuse, but Nolan’s aura suddenly turned menacing. It felt as though an invisible chain had wrapped around his neck, ready to sever his head if he dared to refuse.

His sly expression instantly disappeared, replaced by fear.

"A-Alright! P-Please follow me!" he said anxiously.

Nolan nodded and walked inside.

The room turned out to be quite large. Prison cells lined both the left and right sides of the room.

Inside them were many male and female demons with physical disabilities. Some had lost their arms or legs, while others were blind.

Their condition was truly pitiful. Even Nolan, who was usually indifferent to his surroundings, felt a slight twinge of pity.

"T-They’re disabled slaves whose value has completely plummeted. No one wants to take them in, sir," the demon explained in a strained voice. "D-Do you want to buy them?"

As he said those last words, he lowered his voice.

Those disabled slaves brought him nothing but losses.

If even one of them were sold, at least his monthly expenses for feeding them would be slightly reduced.

Nolan gave no response. His gaze remained fixed on the iron door at the far end of the room. Chains and a massive boulder sealed it shut from the outside.

It felt as though whatever was behind that door was an extremely dangerous creature.

"What’s inside there?" Nolan asked.

The moment he heard the question, the demon froze. His heart pounded violently, and his breathing grew heavier.

"S-Sir, don’t even think about going near that place! There’s a cursed creature inside!" he said in a trembling voice.

Nolan narrowed his eyes and asked again, "Tell me... what’s inside?"

His voice sounded calm, yet there was an invisible pressure behind it that made the demon unable to argue.

The demon fell silent for a moment and swallowed hard before nervously answering, "I-Inside... there’s a cursed girl!"
