Chapter 787: The Woman Who Waited for a Thousand Years
Chapter 787: The Woman Who Waited for a Thousand Years
"I did it! I’ve finally mastered three-element magic!"
Three-element magic referred to controlling the three main elements—wind, earth, and fire.
In theory, it was easy for novice mages to use any one of those elements. However, controlling all three at the same time was an entirely different matter.
Only those who were truly gifted, with exceptional concentration, were capable of doing so.
And Sharon had just done it. This meant her level of magical control was already remarkably high.
"Phew..."
A sigh escaped her lips as she stood up and stretched her body.
"The sky is so clear. I wonder what Nolan is doing right now?"
She gazed up at the blue sky with a hint of nostalgia.
Since their last meeting, she and Nolan had not seen each other again. It would be a lie to say she didn’t miss him.
The urge to return immediately and see him was strong, but she knew it was impossible.
In three months, the academy would hold a competition against the Tower of Silence. She would be one of the academy’s representatives, chosen to face the talented mages from there.
As she lost herself in thought, footsteps sounded behind her.
"Excuse me for disturbing you, Miss Sharon. May I have a moment?"
Sharon flinched and turned around, only to see an elderly woman walking toward her.
She was small in stature, but the aura she gave off was overwhelmingly powerful.
She was one of the Four Ancient Stars of the academy—Leiza.
The Four Ancient Stars were the four pillars of the Academy.
Their power far surpassed that of most mages in the world. It was said that they had even broken through to the Beyond the World level.
Although it was only a rumor, many people believed it.
Sharon quickly cupped her hands and bowed respectfully.
"Of course, Master Leiza. Please tell me what you need."
Leiza stopped in front of her. She didn’t state her purpose immediately. Instead, she silently observed Sharon before giving a small nod.
"At your age, you’ve already become an Archmage. In the history of this academy, no one’s ever been this talented—aside from your master."
Sharon smiled humbly.
"Thank you, Master Leiza."
Leiza smiled faintly. "I came to tell you something—your master is showing signs of waking up. As her student, you should be there with her."
Sharon was startled by the news. A few days ago, her Master—the head of Falling Star Academy—had suddenly fallen unconscious.
Some high-ranking officials claimed she had fainted after failing to break through the Beyond the World realm.
Many renowned doctors from across the continent had been summoned, but none were able to wake her.
What was even stranger was that her condition appeared normal. Her heartbeat was steady, her stomach showed no issues, and her blood circulation was also stable.
Yet she still hadn’t woken up.
Sharon was clearly worried. After all, her Master was the person closest to her, aside from her family.
"I understand. I’ll go there. Thank you for the information."
Leiza gave a slight nod. "You’re welcome."

Sharon walked down a long hallway. A door opened at the end, and she stepped inside.
A large room came into view immediately—nearly twice the size of her room in the imperial palace.
The furniture was simple. Two wooden wardrobes stood on the right side, beside a table with a flower pot placed on top.
Four windows lined the left wall, their curtains drawn open to let in sunlight and a gentle breeze.
A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling.
At the far end of the room was a large bed, big enough for three people.
"Welcome, Miss Sharon," the servants greeted her.
Sharon nodded and stepped forward.
Her gaze fell upon a woman lying unconscious on the bed.
The woman was extraordinarily beautiful. Even Sharon, known as the most beautiful young woman in the academy, paled in comparison.
She had long black hair cascading down her back. Her body was slender, yet her perfect curves only enhanced her striking charm.
Her flawless face was pale, but slowly, color began to return to her cheeks, as if she were about to regain consciousness.
"Master will truly wake up soon," Sharon murmured with a soft sigh.
She waited quietly. A few moments later, the woman’s eyelids slowly opened, revealing a pair of captivating pink eyes.
"Where am I?" she asked weakly.
"Master!"
Sharon’s excited voice rang out beside her.
The woman startled and turned her head, only to see Sharon standing beside her.
Sharon’s eyes were already filled with tears.
"Sharon?" the woman called out weakly. "What happened to me?"
Sharon quickly wiped her tears away.
"You lost consciousness a few days ago. The doctors said there’s a possibility you fell into a vegetative state because you failed to break through the ’Beyond the World’ level," she explained in a hoarse voice.
The woman absorbed the explanation and fell into deep thought.
"Do you remember what happened, Master?" Sharon asked cautiously.
The woman fell silent. After a moment, tears slowly gathered in the corners of her eyes.
"Master?" Sharon panicked. "What’s wrong? Why are you crying?"
The woman didn’t respond. Her tears continued to fall, tracing down her cheeks.
"It’s okay," she said weakly. "I just remembered something very important... something I had forgotten."
"Something you forgot?" Sharon was surprised.
She didn’t understand what those words meant, but she didn’t dwell on it. As long as her master was alright, that was enough.
"Sharon, could you ask the servants to prepare some food for me?" the woman asked.
"Of course, Master. Please wait a moment."
Sharon turned and left the room, leaving the woman alone.
The woman slowly sat up and leaned her back against the headboard.
Her face, weary from crying, slowly regained its glow.
"Finally, I know what I’ve been missing," she murmured, her body trembling slightly.
Buzz!
Her hair suddenly turned white, followed by two horns sprouting from her head.
Her ears elongated slightly, like an elf’s, and a symbol of love appeared within her pale red pupils.
"Brother Nolan," she whispered, gasping softly. "You’ve left me for a thousand years. That was so painful, you know? So..."
She licked her lips gently. "I’ll find you and collect that debt... hehehe..."
A black tail emerged from her back, its tip shaped like a heart.
If Nolan saw her now, he would surely get goosebumps. That tail belonged to one of the demon races most feared by men—the succubus.
