The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

UnforgivableChapter 819: Unforgivable

Chapter 819: Unforgivable

Nolan found himself in a rather awkward situation. Chloe, the head of Falling Star Academy, was pressing her body against his.

Their faces were only a few centimeters apart.

He could clearly smell the faint scent of jasmine on her breath.

"So," she whispered. "Can you explain this to me, the man in the story?"

Her voice sounded calm, but Nolan could sense the anger simmering beneath it.

He remained silent for a moment before letting out a long sigh.

"When did you get your memories back?"

A faint smile appeared on Chloe’s lips. She traced his lips gently with her thumb.

"Not long ago. Just a few days ago."

"A few days ago?" Nolan raised an eyebrow slightly.

That was around the same time he and Evalyn had returned from their journey into the past.

"Don’t tell me Chloe regained her memories when we returned," he thought.

It was the only explanation that made sense.

"Don’t look away from me," Chloe said coldly.

She turned his face back toward her, forcing him to meet her gaze.

The warmth vanished from her pink eyes as she asked in a low voice, "Tell me. Why did you leave me? Do you hate me, just like the demon race does?"

Her breathing grew uneven, and her body trembled slightly.

Nolan felt no fear. Instead, his heart filled with pity.

A thousand years was a very long time—long enough for an empire to rise and flourish.

Yet Chloe had endured it all alone. She had lost her memories of him, spent centuries searching for someone she could no longer remember, and carried that loneliness through the passage of a thousand years.

Nolan gently caressed her cheek.

"Do you want to hear the truth or a lie?"

Chloe flinched. Her lips parted, but no words came out at first. After a moment, she replied softly, "Both."

Nolan smiled.

"The lie is that I hate you."

Chloe felt as though an invisible hand had tightened around her heart.

Her breath caught, and her eyes slowly reddened.

"And the truth..." Nolan continued, gently patting her head. "I can’t be with you because we were never meant to meet."

Those words left Chloe stunned.

"What do you mean?" she asked, her voice shaking.

Nolan took a deep breath before explaining, "Actually, you and I were never supposed to meet. You were born a thousand years ago, while I come from the future. If I’m not mistaken, I told you this before, didn’t I?"

Chloe froze. Her memories of Nolan were a mess. Although she had managed to recover some of them, countless fragments were still missing.

"So... the person I met when I was a child was actually you from the future, traveling back in time?" she asked for confirmation.

Nolan nodded. "That’s right. I’ll tell you everything. But sit down next to me first."

Chloe stubbornly shook her head.

"No. I’m not moving from here," she said firmly.

Her ample breasts were pressed against Nolan’s chest. He could feel their softness and the faint fragrance clinging to her body, enough to make any man’s heart race.

"You left me. I’m never letting you go again... never."

Nolan let out a helpless sigh. It seemed their separation had truly broken the once cheerful and adorable Chloe.

But he couldn’t blame anyone for this. Nolan couldn’t bring Chloe back with him because doing so would have gone against the laws of nature.

At the same time, he couldn’t remain in the past either. After all, he had never belonged there in the first place.

"Fine. It’s up to you."

Too lazy to argue, Nolan began explaining everything, including his reason for traveling to the past and why he had come to the City of Azkarar in search of Chloe.

Chloe listened attentively. Before regaining her memories, she had known almost nothing about Nolan.

It was only after her memories returned that she launched a massive investigation into him and eventually uncovered his identity as the Sixth Prince of the Great Velmora Empire.

However, that information alone wasn’t enough. She still didn’t know how Nolan had ended up in her era or why he had suddenly disappeared.

Five minutes later, Nolan finished his explanation and asked, "Do you understand now?"

Chloe fell silent. Her face was filled with sadness and confusion. It turned out there had been a reason behind everything, yet she had known nothing about it.

Nolan didn’t press her for an answer. He knew this was a lot for Chloe to take in, so he was willing to give her time to process it.

A few minutes later, Chloe finally regained her composure.

Taking a deep breath, she whispered weakly, "I understand. I’m sorry, Brother Nolan."

Her voice no longer carried sadness or anger. Instead, it was gentle, reminding Nolan of the little Chloe from the past.

Nolan smiled and was about to say something, but Chloe cut him off.

"Unfortunately, I can’t forgive you that easily. A thousand years of suffering is excruciating, you know? So, you’ll have to make up for it."

Nolan’s eyes widened. Every danger alarm in his mind immediately went off.

Just as he was about to push Chloe away, an overwhelming wave of weakness and drowsiness suddenly washed over him.

His head grew heavy, and his vision slowly blurred. Before long, he lost consciousness.

Seeing this, Chloe remained completely calm. After all, she was the one responsible for it.

She pressed her forehead against Nolan’s and whispered into his ear,

"Today... today, I’m definitely not letting you escape, my dear brother..."

"Yummy! This is so good!"

Eira’s eyes sparkled. After finishing the food on her plate, she was about to head to another table.

Suddenly, her body was lifted into the air.

"Whoa! I’m flying!" she exclaimed in amazement.

"Pfft! You’re not flying, little girl. I’m the one carrying you."

A teasing voice came from behind her.

Startled, Eira turned around and saw Sylvia smiling at her.

"You..." Her eyes widened. "The mysterious woman from the city earlier!"

"Oh? You remember me?"

"Mhmm! I remember you!" Eira nodded innocently.

Sylvia pulled her into an embrace. Taking out a tissue, she gently wiped the chocolate crumbs from Eira’s cheeks.

"Why are you here all alone? Where’s Nolan?"

"Master? I don’t know." Eira shook her head.

"I see..." Sylvia nodded before changing the subject. "By the way, I’m curious about something. What are you to Nolan? His daughter?"

"Daughter?" Eira blinked in surprise before quickly shaking her head. "I’m not his child! I’m his pet!"

"His pet?" Sylvia was stunned. She carefully looked Eira up and down.

She immediately realized that Eira wasn’t a human child. The mana within her body was far too vast to belong to someone her age. No, not even an adult human should possess that much mana.

"Are you..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Rafine’s worried voice rang out from behind her.

"Eira! Where have you been?"

Eira turned toward her and waved.

Rafine let out a sigh of relief before walking over and holding out her hands.

Sylvia handed Eira to her.

"Sorry to bother you, Tower Master," Rafine said politely.

Sylvia waved her hand dismissively.

"It’s fine. By the way, do you know where Nolan is?"

Rafine was startled. A sense of alertness rose within her, but she didn’t let it show.

"No, I don’t. But the academy head took him away a little while ago."

"Chloe?" Sylvia froze. "What does she want with him?"

"I have no idea." Rafine shook her head.

Sylvia fell silent. Just then, an announcement echoed from behind them.

"Everyone, the contest is about to begin! Please proceed to the main area!"

Hearing that, Sylvia suppressed her anxiety and turned back to Rafine.

"I’m leaving now. If you see Nolan, tell him I want to meet him."

Rafine could only nod.

"I’ll let him know."

Without another word, Sylvia turned and walked away.

Rafine watched her retreating figure with a cold gaze.
