Chapter 836: Heaven Judgement

The Incubus System Chapter 826. Heaven Judgement

Larry carefully took Nathan's body into his arms, cradling him cautiously which seemed at odds with the perilous situation we were in.

I couldn't help but be a bit surprised. Despite everything Nathan had done and his defiance, Larry remained steadfast in his loyalty as a friend and demon hunter.

Though the situation was still tense, I couldn't help but respect Larry for his loyalty and his willingness to do what he believed was right, even when it meant confronting a Great Demon like me.

Once again, I heard a voice in my head.

'Ethan, you have to get out of here immediately! Bring your servants with you!' Emma said.

'Why?' I questioned, my brow furrowing in confusion.

'Those senators are going to launch another secret weapon!' Ruby's voice chimed in.

'You mean the Holy Missiles?' I asked them.

'Heaven Judgment,' Mrs. Clea's words cut through the telepathic conversation.

'That could be a problem,' I responded, my thoughts racing.

It wasn't a problem for me, of course. The Senate's secret weapons had been designed to paralyze demons, but my generals and I were in another league entirely. Their powers and my own demonic abilities could likely withstand the assault. But when it came to my pets and Miranda, that was a different story.

Based on the information I'd gathered, these secret weapons could spell trouble for them. If they were caught in the effects of the Heaven Judgment, it would be a significant problem.

With the battle against Beel concluded, my priority was clear. I had to ensure the safety of my pets and Miranda. It wasn't just an obligation.

'Ivy, has the parasite been successfully extracted from the hosts?' I asked.

I'd seen the unorthodox methods my servants employed during the extraction process, and they were far from gentle. Nevertheless, they'd faced the challenge head-on, and I could only hope their efforts had been successful.

'I think that's all. There are a few parasite demons still roaming around, but the demon hunters are dealing with them,' Ivy reported.

'Did you hear that, Mrs. Clea? It will be the demon hunters' responsibility from here on. Also, once the dome breaks, the real world will return, and the parasites will have an easier time finding and infesting new hosts.'

'I know that. Just go. Now! They've launched it!'

Her urgency made it clear that the situation had escalated beyond mere concern.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes slightly. Retreating due to someone else's orders didn't sit well with my pride, but for my loyal soldiers' safety... I needed to do it.

'You heard her, guys! We're falling back. Meet me at the center, and make it quick!'

I spun on my heel and began my retreat from the battlefield. In the distance, the telltale signs of the Heaven Judgment weapon being launched were becoming visible. The air itself seemed to tremble under its approaching might.

'But we aren't done yet here!' Miranda tried to negotiate, her reluctance evident in her voice.

'I said... we are retreating,' I emphasized, my tone making it clear that it wasn't a suggestion but an order. This was precisely why I'd designated her as a servant rather than a partner.

Miranda could be impulsive and sometimes allowed her emotions to get the best of her. While I understood her concern about the remaining parasites, occasionally, it was necessary to place some responsibility on the humans' shoulders. After all, this world belonged to humans.

After a brief pause, Miranda relented with a reluctant, 'Yes.' It was evident she didn't entirely agree with the decision, but she understood the necessity of following my orders. RΑΝồ₿Ê𝙨

I glanced at Larry, who was slowly walking away with Nathan. His injuries were visible, but none seemed life-threatening.

"You take care of yourself, Demon Hunter," I called out. Larry halted in his tracks and turned to look at me.

"I will," he replied with a tired but grateful smile.

I nodded in response. Although we had our differences, I couldn't help but respect Larry's dedication to his duty and his unwavering loyalty to his friends. He was a good man.

For sure, I couldn't shake the feeling that our paths would cross again. But I hoped, the next time we met, we would meet as companions in the battle and fight side by side. Not like this…

But it meant, I had to expose to him that Ethan, his buddy, and the Great Demon were the same person.
