Chapter 860: Chapter 850. Dancing Lady IV

The Incubus System Chapter 850. Dancing Lady IV

The battle had stretched on for nearly ten minutes. The demon exhibited weird behavior, something similar to a gigantic, hungry frog poised to pounce on Larry.

At times, her movements mirrored those of a deranged zombie.

’Should I help him?’ I thought, my eyes fixated on the ongoing battle between Larry and the demon.

He wasn’t in immediate danger, at least not in a life or death scenario that warranted my direct intervention. Larry displayed a level of competence that allowed him to navigate the skirmish. Yet, the struggle was evident, his reliance on a singular skill hinted at the limitations he faced.

As his best friend, a part of me wanted to swoop in, bringing a swift end to the confrontation.

However, my role as a demon lord demanded a broader vision. Empowering humans to confront and overcome demonic threats independently was crucial for the long-term survival of both worlds.

The dilemma lingered.

In the end, I chose to remain an observer, resisting the impulse to intervene directly. Larry, though facing challenges, needed the space to prove his mettle.

"Haaa!" Larry’s figure contorted with exertion.

In a moment of sheer determination, he hurled his Mana Chain at the demon. The chain lashed out with precision, ensnaring the creature in a glowing web.

The unexpected success caught me off guard, and my eyes widened in disbelief.

The old lady, now constrained by the bindings, struggled against the restraint.

"Oh, he did it," I whispered to myself.

Suddenly, the chain emitted a resounding hiss. Simultaneously, the old lady unleashed a guttural scream, her body writhing in pain.

My eyes widened. The chain’s luminous glow intensified, and with a forceful expulsion, something emerged from the old woman’s throat. A small, grotesque slime oozed out, a vile manifestation of the parasitic demon forcibly ejected from its host.

"Well, having holy power does have its advantages," I mused. The process, though unsettling, appeared more straightforward than my method.

Larry, having successfully expelled the parasitic demon, readied himself for what came next. His hands bathed in an ethereal light, gradually shaping into a pair of silver gauntlets, exuding a divine aura. The radiance, unmistakably holy in nature, flickered and danced, casting an otherworldly glow over the dimly lit surroundings.

My eyes widened in surprise, fixated on the manifestation of this newfound skill. The silver gauntlets clung to Larry’s hands.

"Dad..." a spontaneous whisper came out of my mouth as my eyes fell on him. My shock was clear on my face. Yes, that skill, those gauntlets were similar to my late father’s skill.

Larry seized the small slime, his grip firm and unwavering. The squelchy creature met its demise as Larry clenched his fist.

The ensuing silence was broken only by the light breeze rustling through the park. Larry, having successfully thwarted the demonic intrusion, turned his attention to the host.

The old lady crumpled in a near-faint. Yet, in a fluid motion, Larry caught her with practiced ease before she could collide with the ground. It was so smooth and I was sure if, that old lady was a girl, she would probably have a crush on him. Too bad it wasn’t.

"Are you okay, ma’am?" Larry inquired, cradling the old lady in his arms as though she were a fragile relic. The scene unfolding before me mirrored a live-action superhero movie, with Larry cast as the reluctant hero.

However, the lady remained unresponsive, her eyes sealed shut.

Larry shifted his attention to me. "Dude, looks like we have to get her to the hospital," he declared.

Blinking rapidly, as if waking from a spell, I mumbled, "Oh, right." I rose from my hiding spot, hastening to Larry’s side to assist with the unconscious old lady.

"Where do we take her? The clinic nearby?" I questioned, concealing the burning curiosity about Larry’s newfound skills.

How did he acquire abilities reminiscent of my dad’s? Yet, this wasn’t the right time or place to ask.

"Yeah, I think it’s better to take her to a clinic near here. The demons are probably still roaming around here," Larry emphasized. "The sooner we get her to a safe place, the better."

I nodded in agreement. "You’re right," I concurred, aligning my thoughts with his.

We had only walked a few steps, yet another announcement appeared in front of me
